Beekit grinned, nudging closer to his mother. "I wanna play mossball!" he exclaimed. "I am obviously the king of mossball and you cannot beat me!" With that, he pulled away from the embrace, grabbing a mossball from his nest. "So we're playing that each of us have to try and shoot into my nest! If one of us misses, it's the next one's turn!" He wore a proud grin on his face. He'd just been able to explain his mother all the rules he came up with! "If you don't understand, then it's your fault," he added hastily. "Oh and you get to start. Because I'll win anyway!" he purred confidently, passing the mossball over to Whisperwing.

Shrewkit sat in the corner of the nursery, watching all the other kits. She watched as her brother Beekit was making up his own version of mossball to play with her mother. She almost laughed at his words. Beekit was so ignorant. He thought everyone was there to play and be his friend. Which was exactly why she couldn't trust him. He would tell everyone her secrets! And her mother was too nice and sweet. She would just be worried about Shrewkit and tell the med. cat or Dawnstar she was depressed or something. Which she was definitely not.

Beekit watched closely as his mother won, first shot! "Okay, it's your turn again!" he mewed, praying that she would not manage. Maybe it was a bad decision to let her start. Then the small tom turned his attention to Shrewkit, listening to momma's question. "Yes of course she wants to play!" he exclaimed. "Shrewkit PLEASE! You haven't played mossball with me in so long!!!"

Shrewkit listened as her mother asked her if she wanted to play. "I am fine over here." She didn't want to play mossball. What if she got to happy playing and Beekit could convince her to reveal all her secrets. Besides, Beekit's version of mossbal sounded lame. She wasn't about to waste her energy playing mossball, when she could be battle training. Beekit was such a time waster, he didn't even practice hunting! And her mother Whisperwing supported it, which made it worse! She continued to survey the nursery with emotionless eyes.

What she did next was so swift no one could see she had even moved. One second Beekit was standing next to her, the next he was sprawled on the ground. Shrewkit, didn't say anything to make fun of Beekit, but she didn't move to help him either. In fact, she didn't move at all. She stared at her mother coldly, waiting for instructions.

Beekit felt the impact of Shrewkit's pounce knock him onto the floor. He narrowed his eyes playfully. Better to see things as positive, even if the wind was currently knocked out of him! "Ow," he meowed dramatically, getting onto his paws shakily. "Shrewkit, how are you so good at fighting?" He met her gaze, mismatched eyes watery. "Oooh, do you have a secret mentor?" He loved making up rumors. "And don't ever attack me again because I will be scared at you and that hurt!"
