RiverClan Clearing

With all the things going on Petuniapaw wasn't really sure what was to come. One thing after another seemed to be hitting RiverClan, and her, yet the molly still managed to keep a smile on her face. She was alive, her brother was alive, and she was home again. What more could she ask for?
Scanning the clearing Petuniapaw spotted a warrior off somewhat by himself. She didn't know if he was alone or if he was waiting on someone. Honestly, he might just be grooming himself, she didn't know. Yet, the well over aged apprentice figured she would go talk with him anyhow. "Hello Backfuzz!" She chirped in greeting. The ginger and off white molly didn't know much about this tom but that was fine, she liked getting to know new cats.

Scanning the clearing Petuniapaw spotted a warrior off somewhat by himself. She didn't know if he was alone or if he was waiting on someone. Barkfuzz looked up, startled slightly, as Petuniapaw called to him. However he quickly shook off the initial surprise - quite literally - with a vigorous shake of his head. "Petuniapaw! Hi!" He purred back with a friendly swish of his fluffy tail. Though he wasn't grooming he could certainly use it; his fur was tangled and full of bits of twigs.

"How are you?" He questioned sincerely as he got to his paws and trotted over. At a closer glance it could be seen that clumps of soil resided in his matted fur and on his paws. "Sorry about my appearance. Every time I finally get clean it's like I go out on patrol or something and the entire forest sticks to my fur!"

He padded out of the warriors' den and prepared himself for apprentices to come and pester him. He spotted his friend, Gentlefoot, across the clearing and trotted over to her. Any apprentices bother you today yet? he asked. For some reason, he always felt somewhat happier around Gentlefoot. Maybe it was just because they had been best friends for quite a while.

Gentlefoot chuckled. "They're not so bad! They remind me of kits sometimes, really." Gentlefoot smiled. She loved kits.

He shrugged, Eh, they remind me of moving, talking furballs. I had a nightmare about those once. he said. Those disrespectful apprentices! They needed to learn to respect their elders.

Gentlefoot raised an eyebrow. "About moving, talking furballs, or about apprentices?" I hope he doesn't say, 'What's the difference?', Gentlefoot thought.

He laughed, The moving, talking furballs. he said. He shook his fur and sat, curling his tail around his paws.

Gentlefoot sat down as well, strangely pleased that she'd made him laugh. She wanted him to do it again. "Let me guess: they wanted you to be their mentor?"

He laughed again, Oh StarClan, no. That would have probably killed me in my sleep! he said. He shook his head to clear cobwebs of memories and laughed again.

Gentlefoot laughed also, surprised at herself a little. "I see," she said solemnly, "And then the night after you dreamed about bringing fresh-kill to the elders and that made it all better, right?" She couldn't resist teasing him. Teasing. When was the last time I did that? @Peril
