Sleetstrike froze for a heartbeat, on one paw he could run and avoid Redclaw along with all of Iceclaw's other mourning friends... But on the other paw, he could never turn down a fight. I let out a yowl cry and spun to face the warrior, "You probably fight as bad as he did!" He launched off the ground towards the warrior.

Redclaws eyes had a wild look in them as he flung himself as hard as he could into sleetstrike slamming into him his muscled body rippled from the impact and then he hooked his claws into sleetstrikes shoulders and spun him throwing him a couple of tail lengths away

It had happened so quickly. Zerosight had sensed something, or someone, sneaking up on him, the act triggering some sort of internal predator-prey instinct he never knew he had inside of him. However, by the time he had realized, the other cat had crushed him to the ground, digging their claws into his back just enough to draw blood and cause him to wince in pain. If he wasn't so used to pain due to his StarClan gifted power, he would've cried out. However, he shut his eyes tight, expecting more pain, or even death, but was surprised when the weight vanished. Then, he heard Northpath slam into his attacker.

It was all a blur from then on out. He had heard the fight, but because of his blindness he couldn't actually watch what was going on. The medicine cat could hear his apprentice fighting the other cat, and could hear that he wasn't doing well. By the time it had actually sunk in, it was over, and his beloved Northpath was defeated at the paws of some random cat that wasn't even supposed to be here.

Zerosight, not even caring that the attacker could still be near, rushed to his apprentice's side. He curled himself protectively around the other tom's bloodied form, much like a mother would hold her kittens, pressing his paws over the bigger wounds in an attempt to stop the bleeding. But, deep inside the ThunderClan medicine cat knew it was a feudal effort.

Tears welled in his blue eyes. You- you dummy! Why would you throw your life away for me?? He was old now, Northpath was young, full of life. Zero was ready, and Northpath still had so much he could have given.

There was still so much they could have done together, and he still had so much to teach the younger tom. But now, that was all being taken away from him. Northpath; the tom he had trained, the tom he had grown to care for like his own, was dying and there was nothing he could do about it.

Zerosight felt like he needed to say something, anything. But there was no way he could put everything he was feeling into what little time they had left. It was only seconds later that Northpath uttered his last words, a tribute to Zerosight, and quiet, choked thank you that Zero would never get to respond to. He began to sob, digging his head into his apprentice's fur, letting out a low, hollow wail.

The tom laid there with Northpath's quickly cooling body for as long as he could until somebody came to take him away. And still, he protested, screamed, and cried when they had to drag him away because he just wouldn't let the body go.

The battle was over.

But, a new battle was just beginning for ThunderClan's medicine cat.

Apurva shifted her weight in discomfort, trying to think of what to say while Maplefur was distracted. She sighed, wondering what to do, as she wasn't quite sure if she wanted to see Blade or not. She was curious about meeting his mate though, but she wasn't sure if she could face up to Blade.

Her gaze hardened with determination, and she looked up. “If you're going to see them, may I come with you?” she asked. She wanted to know for sure if Blade wanted her gone, and there was only one way to know for sure. It was up to her to know for sure, and she had to go see him in order to know how he thought about her. She wanted to know if he still wanted her around, or if he wanted her gone.

Apurva flicked her reddish ears, her eyes wide. The young molly looked down again. “I have to know if he hates me or not. If he doesn't want to see me anymore, than I'll not go back, but if he does, I'll visit him from time to time.” she wasn't about to even consider returning to her life as a kittypet, as her housefolk had left after their den had burned down, and they'd abandoned her. That was shortly before she'd become a loner, but it was still fresh in her mind.

She forced herself to sit still, even though she was finding it very difficult indeed, she did. She sat still and remained silent as she waited patiently for Maplefur to answer her, though she had a feeling Maplefur would say yes. She didn't see any reason she wouldn't, and she saw several reasons why she should.

Maplefur glanced up at Apurva, a smile on her face. "Of course you can! I'm sure he'll be happy to see you- he looked like he was real upset about it. I didn't really understand then, but now I do!" She glanced over at the camp entrance.

"I'm not really sure when we should go, though. There's not much going on right now, but I'm sure Fria will panic seeing me in this state... I'm sure Blade will want to see you though, and I did promise to tell him if I found you..." she trailed off with a sigh. "Ok, do you want to go real quick right now or do you want to go some other time?" Maplefur asked, giving up on coming to a decision herself.

She looked up at the sky, snowflakes swirling down faster than before, and she realized that they would also have to wait until the snow stopped or at least slowed a bit. She fluffed out her reddish, black and white pelt against the cold, as she'd never experienced this cold before, or this much snow. She barely even remembered snow from when she'd been a kit, but she did remember.

“We'll also have to wait for the snow to slow or stop altogether.” she mumbled, pulling out of her memories and back into what was happening now. She yawned, realizing just how tired she was, and Apurva shifted into a more comfortable position, her eyes half closed.

Apurva gave a lopsided grin, then looked around. “I think I'm staying in the apprentices' den, though Timberpaw never really mentioned much about it.” she replied, letting out a scarcely heard purr. She yawned again, then climbed to her paws and looked around, uncertain as to what den was the apprentices' den. Apurva glanced back at Maplefur for help, shifting uncertainly.

She lifted up one paw, then tasted the air, trying to determine which was the right den by scent, but she failed and sat down, her green hues flicking between one den to the next, hoping to see who came out of what den. She glanced back at Maplefur again, trying hard not to laugh at her inability to figure out what den was what, though she instantly found the nursery.
