Magnoliakit could feel the excitement radiating off Skykit, but the mention of exploring outside the nursery made her heart race with a mix of unease and doubt. She shifted uncomfortably, her paws kneading the ground as she tried to gather her thoughts. The camp beyond the nursery always felt overwhelming, vast and full of places she couldn’t see clearly. Every corner seemed to hold unfamiliar shapes and blurry figures, and the idea of venturing into that confusing space left her feeling small and vulnerable. Her ears flicked toward Skykit, though her pale blue eyes remained trained on the ground. “Explore… outside?” Magnoliakit echoed, her voice soft and hesitant, a faint tremble in her tone. The world outside felt too big and too unpredictable. “I don’t know, Skykit… It’s really big out there, and I can barely see anything.” She confessed, her voice quieter now, almost as if she were ashamed to admit her fear. “What if we get lost, or—what if I can’t keep up with you? I don’t want to slow you down.” She could hear her sister’s excitement and didn’t want to be the one to dampen it, but the anxiety of wandering outside the familiar comfort of the nursery was too much to shake off. “Maybe we could just stay here and play instead?” She offered, her words careful and hopeful, her paws shuffling beneath her. “It’s safer here, and we won’t get into trouble.” She paused for a moment, her voice barely a whisper now. “I don’t want to get lost, Skykit… or make things harder for you.”

egretkit was sleeping very peacefully, curled up in the large moss nest with firesis, her brothers, and all her other not-siblings-but-basically-sibs. however, for some reason, she just wakes up. blinking groggily, she flop onto her other side, jaws parting in a big yawn. pushing herself into a sitting position, nose scrunching as she forces away the last bit of her sleepiness. and she fully processed her surroundings, eyes as wide as saucers.

buh..wuh...it's.. DARK!!!

well, not completely, she realizes as she sees some light shining through the mouth of the nursery. she shoots a glance at the cats in the nest, then the entrance of the nursery, then back. then, very quietly, she slips out of the nest. giggling quietly, she bounds over to the nursery entrance where moonlight spills in. the kit dares to put one paw down outside of the nursery, almost shuffling completely out of the nursery. however, a cold gust blows by and she squeaks, rushing back into the protection of the den walls. deciding it's way too cold to go all the way out, she simply pokes her head out of the nursery, looking up at the night sky.

"ooo.." she awes, staring at the bright moon and stars that litter the sky. after a few moments of admiring the view by herself, she looks over her shoulder and reasons that stargazing with someone would be fun! tiptoeing over to a random kit - windkit, she recognizes as she gets closer - she aims a small poke. "pssst...windkit! windkit..come look!" she whispers.

Patchkit padded through the nursery. Looking for one particular kit. Which wasn’t something that he did very often. Usually they had no specific target and they usually didn’t go looking for interaction and allowed others to speak to him instead, but he had really enjoyed his time with Skykit, and wanted to play with her again. “Skykit?” There were too many people in the nursery, so many people. You could hardly tell who’s paws were who’s and if that tail belonged to that kit or that kit. They continued walking through the nursery looking for the white fur that signaled his friend.

Skykit have gotten a good sleep. The best sleep. All that playing with Patchkit made her exhausted. They played hide and seek and then pretended that patchkit was a windclan warrior and skykit was a riverclan warrior. She hoped they were able to play again today. While she was thinking, she heard a voice call her name. Patchkit's voice! "Patchy!" She squealed. @Dolomedes [lol skykit has a new nickname for patchkit.]

Patchy? He wasn’t so sure about that nickname even though it made sense logically, like Skykit… Sky-ee? He paused despite his friend’s arrival, stuck thinking about the name before shaking his head with a little snort. “Patchy makes me sound like I have missing fur! Like Twilightstar and her scars… maybe we should have different nicknames… I’ll call you…..” He thought about it. Her mama was named after a big cat, and her dad was named after a big dog. So maybe another animal? What animal matches the sky? Well birds obviously! Bird alone sounds odd. Leopard…song! Birds have songs! Birdsong… Songbird! He nodded after concluding, “I’ll call you Songbird!” It was cute and pretty, like Skykit!

Skykit giggled. What patchkit had said about Twilightstar was funny. It was okay patchkit didn't the name she had called them. Songbird. That was her nickname. It was so pretty! She tried to think of a name for patchkit. She didn't know their parents, and she was gonna try to cook something from their name. This was hard. "Hmmm. What should I call you?" She looked at the other kits fur. It had a lot of orange, maybe something with orange then? Or what was orange? She had heard of this orange thing called a pumpkin. That's it! Pumpkin! "What if I called you pumpkin?" She asked. "Should I put something at the end of pumpkin?" @Dolomedes

"I like Pumpkin, I think it's cute." Patchkit responded, happier with this than the last nickname, no offense. Then it was back to why he was looking around for Skykit in the first place. Patchkit wanted to play some more games or do something with Skykit but he hadn't actually thought far enough ahead to figure what that would be. "I wanted to play some more but I am not sure what we should do?" He trailed off a smidge so that Skykit could have a in to give her suggestions. Maybe they could bring more kittens into their games... but that would still need an actual game to play.

They liked the name! "Hmm." What game? The game they played the day before was fun. Both of them really. "We could do hide and seek but with more kits?" Shs suggested. It would be funner with more kits. But, was there another game they could play? "Orrr, we could do that riverclan and windclan battle with more cats." What other games were there? "We could do mossball!" Skykit squealed. @Dolomedes

The first suggestion was fun... the second suggestion is what got his thoughts turning though. A Windclan, Riverclan battle with even more cats? Could they make that go even further and make their own clans for pretend! And they can split the camp in half for each group! They could play pretend medicine cat and leaders and battles! "What if we play pretend and make up clans! And then we could ask other kits to join in?" Patchkit offered his watered down idea to Songbird. He thought it was a fun and interesting idea. And it could be a long term game or something.
