ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

Kestrel padded into the ThunderClan meeting late, but thank StarClan, no one seemed to notice. Well… it was more like thank Swallow, because the she-kit made a scene—again. Kestrel winced when it felt like the whole clan was staring at his disruptive sister, ears growing hot, like he’d been the one to speak up instead of her. Somehow, Kes managed to keep his chin high when he padded over to Swallowkit and rested his tail on her shoulder.

“Don’t worry,” he mewed quietly so none of the onlookers could hear. [Even though he was sure the public admonition would roll off Swallow’s back as easy as river water.] “You’re totally apprentice material. Buckstar just doesn’t wanna make other kits jealous, cause you already have a brigade.”

With that rare show of support, Kestrel turned to Buckstar and the apprentices-to-be, listening intently. Hopefully everyone would forget that kind of awkward moment. Kestrel told himself he didn’t need another reputation connected to Swallow’s antics.

Sugarsnow was pleased to see Glidingfeather rise from her spot to join her, though she was slightly unsettled by the silence. No matter she’d deal with this! She scooted aside allowing her enough space. She’d been one for physical touch, it was a love language of hers. Gently pressing against someone or twining tails was always reassuring. Grooming each other was an excellent way to get to know each other! Once she plopped down and began to groom herself she felt a frown creep onto her features “tsk tsk I didn’t mean for you to do it” She mused a purr rumbling in her chest before she used a paw to wrap over her shoulders and gently lay the she cat down on her side. With that said she cranned her neck with elegance and grace and began to sweep her tongue over the she cats shoulder, grooming the fur down and laying it comfortably down in its place. Ah... grooming. One of her favorite pastimes! It was always good to see the before and after, seeing the cleaned and proper look fall together.

“Cat got your tongue?” she asked between sweeps of her head. The silence was unsettling, she was a talkative cat and this was just killing her, the awkward silences and the looks of distaste on Glidingfeathers face made her internally groan. She needed to connect and speak and work out the friendship she was going to have with someone! Her ears flattened and she bowed her head to continue her work silently for a couple seconds. “No matter, I’m sure you know I’m Sugarsnow. You must be Glidingfeather.” she finished the introductions for both of them.

Glidingfeathers ears twitched as the regarded the statement with a look of distaste, her mouth tilting into a small frown. Before she had the chance to voice her disagreement, however, she felt herself getting pushed onto her side, only irritating her more. She could take care of herself! She wasn't some useless kit! Her gaze sharply narrowed as she moved to get back to her paws, but a small voice in the back of her head made her stay. She didnt know why, but she did. Huh. Well how about that. As much as she wanted to get up, this cat seemed...okay. She tolerated the other molly at the most, but that was still pretty good in her book. Surprisingly, she didnt mind the whole grooming thing all that much when she accepted her inevitable fate. It felt...nice? Comforting? She didnt really know. It had been a surprising amount of time since she had last interacted with another cat like this. After all, most of the time she exuded an intimidating aura, or she tried to at least, so you wouldn't be wrong to say that she was confused. Confused yet secretly tolerating the experience a tiny bit. But, was she showing that part? No, of course not! She had a reputation to uphold here!

Glidingfeathers eyes seemed to narrow even more at the...joke? She wasnt really sure what it was, but she sure as hell didn't like it. This time, she did reply, an eyebrow quirked as she spoke, her voice cool and not giving away anything. "I'm perfectly fine, thanks" she responded, staring unwaveringly up at Sugarsnow. And as for the introductions thing, she was pretty sure she already knew Sugarsnows name. Since they lived in the same clan, it was highly unlikely that they didnt know the names of their own clanmates. A curt nod was all she did in response, her tail tip twitching back and forth as she waited for this whole...thing to be over.

His black head turned to the sun slightly, wincing his scarred eye. “I would get a mate... but I’m too busy with this Clan. If something went wrong and it was my fault... well, I just wouldn’t forgive myself! You know what I mean, right?”

well I like them all but it’s hard I’m not much of a talker and sometimes four kits is a lot

I understand what you say but a mate and kits is great really someone to lean on in hard times.

Nudging him he meows agian

You don’t have to worry because you have clan ages they’ll help you out.

Blackkit padded forward at the sound of her father and looked up at him , softly making a deranged purring sound. (Does he know she's mute yet the mom is scared she might be but isn't sure. Also Blackkit can be the favorite it might be better for her to not be depends on what Flametooth likes)

Blackkit rubbed her face against her father's. He had always loved her like her siblings didn't. She continued to make her strange purring noise. (Mute kitties actually can do a weird purring noise, I did some research)

Oakcreek stopped licking his paw and looked up as he saw a young tom walk into the den. "Why hello there, and thank you!" The elder smiled, he always appreciated kits coming in and bringing food. "Would you like me to tell you a story?"
