As Reedwhisker watched the pairs of warriors and apprentices spar each other and looked over at Rainglow and Snowstripe as they were critiqued by Slatestripe. As she asked her question, she looked from Rainglow to Snowstripe, inviting the warrior to say something if there were any questions. Perhaps they need a bit of help. And I could help Rainglow comprehend that Slatestripe is just being helpful. Being ordered around by your brother mustn't be fun...

Rainglow took in another sharp breath. "I know~ I honestly din't know why im crying...!" He choked out, looking up at Reedwhisker. StarClan he seemed to be drawing a bit of attention~ it was EXTREMELY embarrassing. Curse this! Curse his terrible social life! Curse everything. He sat up, sniffling and coughing.

Snowstripe's fur gives him a disadvantage and Rainglow is trying to stop himself from crying. Well, at least Reedwhisker was the only one to take notice of his small crying fit. The dark warrior held back a sigh. I have to calm Rainglow down and give them advice... Her hazel eyes drifted from Snowstripe back to Rainglow, then she sat down.

"Rainglow, take it easy... if you'd like, you can watch while I do a short spar with Snowstripe so you get yourself back to normal," Reedwhisker then looked at Snowstripe. "I'll teach you how to counter your weakness. Are you two okay with this?"

Giving Slatestripe's brother some time to get control of himself will give me some sparring time and they can still both learn. This seems like a fair deal. If not, well... I'll have to figure out what to do then. The she-cat then perked her ears and listened for their responses to what they were offered. Luckily no one else seemed to notice this.

Slatestripe clenched his jaw, ruminating over how to deal with this without causing a scene or causing more stress for his brother. He was used to Rainglow’s attacks; he was, after all, his brother.

Fortunately, Reedwhisker swept in to help. As Reedwhisker pulled Snowstripe aside for a spar, Slatestripe saw the perfect opportunity to help his brother calm down. He sprang off the driftwood and approached Rainglow, trying to seem as unassuming as possible.

The tom had been sitting in the sand, ears pinned. He looked up at his brother, and then hearing him speak, Rainglow burst to tears again. "I know!" He yowled, head raised to the sky. "How many times do i have to say it!?"

Reedwhisker smiled in acknowledgment and tilted her head to the side, beckoning Snowstripe to follow so that Rainglow had enough time to dodge the sparring pair. She waited a moment to let Snowstripe get settled in her spot before addressing the fellow warrior.

"Alright. Since you don't exactly blend in and therefore can't ambush an opponent, you have to improvise and make it so you are an even match. We may not be able to be as fast as WindClan or as well adjusted to the dark like ShadowClan, or even ThunderClan, but we do know how to swim. The first you can do is observe your opponent and look for their weakness. Some warriors lack the ability to react to attacks fast due to their size, so you would be able to lash out at your opponent multiple times to overwhelm them. Other times, you'll battle apprentices or small warriors. To counter them, you have to think of which direction to go. Knock them off balance then pin them. You will be the defense, I'll be the offense. Try to predict my movements and pin me."

It felt like she was speaking to an apprentice, but Snowstripe was definitely not an apprentice. She was bigger than one, more experienced too. I'll try to slide under her like a fish... use my water attacks on land the best I can. Then I can see how she does against my attack and go from there

It seemed like Slatestripe decided to take the opportunity and talk to his brother, but Rainglow seemed to be a little upset over it. Should he go back to camp? I don't want to overstep Slatestripe and prevent Rainglow from learning, but he doesn't seem to be in the mindset to spar... Turning her attention back to her sparring partner, Reedwhisker quickly dashed forward and tried to dive under her opponent and twist. If she managed to slide underneath Snowstripe, she would try to bat at her belly.

Snowstripe seen her movements and jump in the air and moves away from her and jumps into her opponent and pins her if she can.

Slatestripe’s jaw clenched at his brother’s reply, but he steadied himself. He’d never been the best at handling his brother’s anxiety, but he did try his best.

The black and gray warrior gestured toward a scattering of pebbles a couple of tail-lengths away. “Why don’t you go look at some of those stones? See if you can get your mind on something else. If you feel like you can come back to training, then I can be your partner for the rest of this event. If not, you can just watch. Does that sound okay?” StarClan, I hope so!
