Streampelt had been waiting outside and didn’t know what was happening inside the den. He peeked his head inside. “Everything ok? What’s wrong with Mothsky?” Streampelt mewed, padding into the den.

Amusement sparked his gaze as Kestrelwing watched the tired, almost incoherent, medicine cat wander over to him. He knew the younger tom well enough by know that he wasn't truly angry - they just seemed to have the same external forever mood. "Well, I am a bit tired seeing as I just woke up," he began with a bit of sarcasm. "But I feel much better than yesterday. Ready to get back on my paws and out of this nest, that's for sure." He cast a disapproving look towards the moss that had the smell of herbs clinging to it just like the rest of the den. Wrinkling his nose, Kestrelwing brought his gaze back up to Snakeheart.

"Nononono you dont get to complain about being sleepy you birdbrain I was asleep before you started whining take your knocks you deserve this for waking your clans poor overworked medicine cat."
A face splitting yawn cracked his face in half and flashing his long sharp fangs to the chilly morning air and drawing a grumpy hiss from the tom. It was too early for any of this.

"Right I will require you to come back for a small check tonight to make sure you didnt overexert yourself and open up any wounds but as long as you dont do too much and stay in camp youre fine to leave the den. Seriously Kestrelwing I know you tend to throw yourself into your duties to much and its my job to make sure you recover so dont overdo it or I will be forced to den confine you. Spend today in camp doing nothing, tomorrow you can go out on light duties and hopefully after that you'll be good enough to resume normal activity."
He was probably being to lenient with this but he did have a level of trust in Kestrelwing. A level though. "Am I clear Birdbrain?"

Lotusheart looked up at him gratefully. The work of a medicine cat really seemed tiring. But Snakeheart handled it with great dedication. The massive she-cat lapped at the soaked moss a little. She was feeling very dizzy but overall OK.
"Firehawk...I assume he didn't make it? Were there any other casualties?" she mewed then cringed a little as she realized that assuming cats are too far gone may or may not be offensive to the medicine cat's skills.

"Mmmmm Firehawk perished in the battle yes.... He was dying anyway and this was probably a far faster death but its still a tragedy and Lionstorm is devastated. Otherwise everyone yet lives but theres a lot of injuries... As you can probably see already, the dens kind of packed right now. Here eat this, you need your energy." He added passing over the trout to the molly. He wanted to eat it personally but patients come first and he'd just settle for the remains that were left and maybe whatever else was left on the fresh kill pile.
"Right how are you feeling? Come on full debrief I need to know so I can treat you and get you back up to full shape."

At the word ‘kits’, Mothsky stared at Snakeheart in shock. Kits? That can’t...She sighed and swallowed. “That would explain the pains and sudden tiredness I’ve felt...” she mewed quietly. She was nervous. She didn’t know what to tell Steampelt...what if he didn’t want them? She begun to panic.

"Yeah that would explain it Mothsky but youre healthy besides and you have options." Snakeheart had no doubt that she'd need some time to think over the whole thing and was ready to give her time when the tom came back. Ah the mate, or at least the supposed mate. Well it was the mollys choice to tell him or not and Snakeheart wouldnt disclose anything serious just in case.
"Yes everythings ok Streampelt calm down theres nothing wrong. Its just a minor thing and when Mothsky decides what she wants to do she can talk to me about it in whatever manner she wishes to."

"The way you were treated? What happened is shadowclan really being so terrible to even queens? I know Coldamber is doing her best to defend the clan from them but as only one cat Im aware she cant be everywhere... Cant imagine how it is to see such a nice clan invaded by those monsters."
Coldamber was the toms personal friend and given that riverclan was windclans allies it didnt even cross his mind that the bad behaviour came from any windclan cats much less the queens own children.

"As for your worries thats not even a concern. You've got an infection but youre not sick (yet youre weak that might change with a stroke of bad luck) so while you passed the infection on to your kits due to you being pregnant but its physically impossible to pass it on to another cat. Like unless you unwrap your injury, you still have an infection despite the herbs, and then press the injury against an open wound its not gonna pass on. You and your kits are the main concern here, your healing should be fine in your own if you eat lots and be careful but if something goes wrong you need to come to me immediately. Otherwise though youre actually pretty safe."
It might be better for her recovery if she left, the den had been super busy and it was doubtful that she could get a lot of rest here... Plus socialisation and activeness was good for kits. They'd have to live with their injuries forever most likely so they should start adapting as soon as possible.

Lotusheart wiggled her nose. A trout was pushed over to her. Mmmm. She licked her muzzle and lifted her head to take a few bites. She chewed and swallowed quickly.
"Well, I have a killer headache, probably some blood loss symptoms and I my eye is hurting like crazy. I assume it has cobwebs on since I can't see anything out of it." she said in a matter-of-fact voice.

He watched the medicine cat yawn with a raised brow. Birdbrain, huh? That was a new one... It fit though. A smirk tugged at his lips as he just gave a good natured roll of his eyes.

"Well you don't have to worry about this birdbrain. I'll go straight to Lionstorm to report, and then spend the rest of the day doing absolutely nothing. Nada. Won't even lift a claw." It actually sounded pretty nice. As he got to his paws, he could already feel a lot stronger than yesterday. "You got it, Snakebite. Loud and clear." A snorting laugh came from him as he grinned at the medicine cat.

Lionstorm had weaseled into the den to harass Snakeheart when he was stopped by the sight of a stranger. Hmmm, he definitely didn't recognize this cat. Seeing as she was paling it up with his Good Buddy Snakeboy, he tipped his head at the medicine cat curiously. "Who's this?"

Breaking bad news was defiantly part of the many many bad parts of this job. Hopefully Lotusheart would take this well though.
"I will be honest most of this will fade in time but.... Well eyes are difficult enough to heal but from the state your eye was in when I first treated it I dont think it will heal at all. Theres a chance that after a long while of keeping it wrapped when I finally uncover it it'll be fine but most likely you will be blind in that eye permanently. It shouldnt hold you back in your duties even if so but just in case theres a chance of recovery Im advising that cobweb stays on as long as possible."

Now that earned the eye roll and sarcastic hiss of a century before he started trying to herd the warrior towards the exit.
"God you are so full of it you featherbrained warrior. Obey my commands, take a break, dont break the golden moron, and come back tonight. Now get outta my den before I kick you out you annoyance. Shooo bird shoo and tell some apprentice to bring me breakfast."
The tom had less headache inducing patients to see to and a good few of them.

Ah so he wouldnt have to go and find the big lug the big lug would come to him. Well it was convenient if nothing else.
"Lionstorm I was about to send Brightwish here off to the nursery with her kits then come find you to discuss it. This is Brightwish an ex windclan queen who by my understanding was forced to flee while pregnant from the occupation and now (understandably) has no desire to return. Lotusheart dragged her in here with the worst infection Ive ever seen on a living cat a single day off of giving birth and though her three surviving kits seem set to make a recovery," He gestured at the kits explaining "Squintkit is the little one with the closed eyes, Runningkit is the three legged one and Darkkit is that tom there, the other three perished from the infection. I buried them in the sleepy thicket of course but from my time healing her I dont see Brightwish and her children as any sort of threat and given I will beat you for so much as implying that we throw out an injured queen and kits I was going to find you and talk to you about inducting them into the clan permanently.
Anything to add Brightwish?"

Seriously they werent shadowclan and even heavily injured with two possibly permanently disabled kits (they'd learn to adapt he was certain, riverclan had both blind and three legged cats before) they could still contribute to the clan with training in time so there was no good reason to throw them out. Brightwish was a strange molly with questionable naming choices but Snakeheart had decided he didnt mind the resilient queen who'd survived so much and he'd argue about with with Lionstorm if necessary.

Lotusheart was a little surprised to hear this. She coughed as some trout got breathed in but quickly recovered. A permanent disability? She didn't know how to deal with that. It wasn't for certain but Snakeheart seemed pretty convinced this was the case. She thought for a while. In battle, her vision would be greatly impaired. And she'd have to hunt with her head sideways. Oh, dear, she'd bump into even more people now!
"That's..Ok. I understand. It's part of warrior life." she said in a solemn tone.

"I wasn't thrown out of Windclan, my family turned on me moons before the Dawntar incidnet, to the point where my kits banded up on me and attacked me. Mind you, they were 5 moons at the time and I was overwhelmed. And then my mate left to become a kittypet again and it was to overwhelming to stand. So I fled, not knowing I was pregnant." Brightwish explained.

Okay... Lionstorm craned his neck to get a look at the kits, confused by one of the names. "Why Squintkit?" He prompted both of them, rather upfront. "All kits are born with their eyes closed, there's no need to name the kit for their eyes not being opened yet. Some kits just do it later than others." It was an odd choice, Lionstorm wasn't sure he liked it..

But his pelt prickled when she described how her kits turned against her to the point of driving her out of WindClan. If Squintkit's name was a pink flag, this was quickly becoming red. She had a lot of explaining to do before Lionstorm was on board the "letting Brightwish stay" train. "So your kits attacked you.." He repeated, staring at her. "Why did they attack you? Why didn't your Clan-mates intervene?" If it wasn't in camp, why were the kits out of camp? "You've implied your mate left after the attack, why didn't he stop them?" This was kind of fishy to him, and he raised his tail to caution Snakeheart from getting fired up over his questions. He wanted to know the full story of what happened before any decisions were made regarding her residency, at least on his end.

"Because they all blame me for the death of their sibling Blossom. She was born with a lung disease and died young. They all thought it was my fault for being sick when birthing her, then the same happened here with these kits. Squintkit's named that because he has an eye infection and Snakeheart here thinks they may never open." Brightwish mewed sadly. "And my mate was a kittypet at heart, always. And when violence came out he just fled... Windclan didn't care about me since I had just joined and just let Snowkit lead an attack on me." She explained, sobbing at this point.
