Redpaw sat near the apprentice den, watching the clearing and every cat that passed. Firesweep was a good mentor, but the russet apprentice barely got enough training. He blinked, noticing Silverpaw eating trout nearby. She had just become an apprentice, he knew that.
Redpaw blinked again.
He didn't feel like meeting anyone, so just waited for her to notice.

Redpaw listened to every word with sympathy. He knew how she felt, he was never talked to for the first few months of his life.
The young apprentice smiled and tapped her gently with his tail, hoping she understood that it was fine.

Riverpaw padded around camp she didn’t feel quite right she hadn’t for a long time either. One reason was because she had to name herself the other was she didn’t have many friends. Truly the only person she even talked to was redpaw. Glancing around the clearing she didn’t really see him and with that she bounded over to streampaw. Hey streampaw can we go on a walk with streamfern? her voice was a little sad but she didn’t mind much.
