Pebblesong nodded. screw it, he was gonna tell all of his friends about his inner conflict! He smiled back at sycamorerain, "Thank you, sycamorerain. Um, can you use female pronouns for me from now on?" the newly announced molly shyly asked, feeling like a weight was being lifted from her shoulders.

Pebblesong purred a bit, "do you have any tips on how to transition?" She asked him. She was relieved that she had finally figured out her identity dilema.

"Thank you!" Softbrair was thankful for the congratulations, they'd sure had a rough start with the position so the calmer tone of this conversation was very welcomed. "Things were... hectic at the beginning there, but I'm really looking forward to the future." They sighed, though not a particularly frustrated way. It was exciting being named deputy, but something had to be done about how split the clan seemed to be at the moment.

“Hmmmm...” Sycamorerain pondered for a little while, trying to remember what he’d gathered from his own transitional experience. “I guess one of the first things is to start small. I mean, if you’re feeling really bold then by all means go ahead, but I personally wouldn’t go around announcing it to the entire forest. I’d recommend you open up to your closer friends and family until you feel a little more comfortable.” Hmm, what other tips could he give? Aha! “Oh, and make sure you’re patient with others in the beginning. If they’re used to you being one gender, some might misgender at first, but just keep giving polite reminders and they’ll most likely begin picking up on it. I know it took a while for some cats to get used to using male pronouns with me, but they all got it eventually.”

Sycamorerain couldn’t help but smile again as the other warrior repeated his name and bounced around like a kit. Again, he found it a little strange for her to be acting in such a manner, but he didn’t question it nor point it out to her. Some cats were just hyper like that, and he supposed she must be one of them.

Softbriar sat in the offered up spot, taking a quick breath before replying. “I’ll do my best!” Now that they’d had the time to get their thoughts in check, they were prepared for the instructions that followed, nodding along as Duskstar spoke.

“I’ll make sure all the hunting patrols I make up know what’s expected of them. I’ll also set guards that can be trusted with the task, no one who’d just slack off on duty.” As they spoke they were thinking which clanmates would be good to assign to the jobs, there were plenty of apprentices rearing to get in on the hunting action.

“It’s clear everyone is a little… stressed out at the moment. We definitely should avoid doing anything that would allow people to snap at one another, though they might need some time to vent their frustrations…” They trailed off, multiple times now they’d witnessed the chaos which currently made up ThunderClan. They’d had to think to come up with something that would satisfy all their clanmates. “At the moment there seems to be clear group bias… ”

It was only thinking out loud at the moment. Any idea of theirs, of course, needed to be more refined before it could be a serious suggestion. “We could set something up to help everyone better trust the clanmates they don't know as well.”

He called out in a sing-song like voice with his usual goofy grin. "Who wants to check out the territory and learn how to hunt today?" The brown main coon looked around with his marigold eyes in hopes that the young molly heard him.

Pinepaw was sitting in the clearing with a blank expression as usual. Her ears turned back as she heard her mentor's stupid yowling. Welp, guess it was time for her to learn something or whatever...
"I'm here." she said in a bland matter of fact voice. "Sure I guess..." she muttered dragging her feet towards the camp enterance.

Pineapple had a point with her teasing retort. Lionpaw was a horrible liar and he couldn't stand breaking rules without apologizing. The apprentice hated making mistakes. He tended to spend hours correcting them if possible. When Pineapple asked what he wanted to do, Lionpaw mentally went through his to-do list. There was something on it that he really looked forward to doing, but he was having trouble finding a cat to do it with. "This might sound a bit odd," the golden apprentice started, "but could you teach me how to fight?" Lionpaw already knew how to fight - well enough to defend himself from other rogues and loners - but he didn't know how clan cats fought, and he would need to learn in case of a raid. The tom's personal style was amazing, but it made him stand out too much. He also wasn't used to swarms of cats all fighting in one place. How to fight might've been something normal for a clan cat to want to know, but Lionpaw wasn't a clan cat at heart so he felt a bit uncomfortable asking. "You don't have to," the tom added hastily, "We can always do something else."
