Berrypaw padded into the nursery on light paws. Except on the twisted one, of course. That she tried to keep a little bit above the ground, so it could heal quicker. She had heard Scorchstrike had her kits!

Quickly, the apprentice padded over to her mentor. "Hello Scorchstrike!" she greeted. "I heard you had your kits? How are they called? Are they all healthy?" she asked excitedly, wanting to know. What if some kits were stillborn? U-oh, that'd be bad. She prayed not.

Scorchstrike stared at her kits in wonder. She made those! And they would grow into big strong cats, at least partly because of her. Her heart was still crushed over the other kits deaths, but there was nothing she could do. I can't let my deceased kits get in the way of taking care of my living ones. She would do what she always did with bothersome feelings. Push them down, down, down, until they weren't an issue.
As she made sure her kits were eating, Scorchstrike raised her head at Berrypaw's entrance.
"Hello," she said quietly. She didn't want to wake up any kits, especially her own. "Yes, they're healthy. This is Wisteriakit," she pointed to the ginger tabby, "And Bunnykit." she poked the calico. "Say hi, little kits," she joked. They couldn't even hear things, much less talk with any sense of understanding.

Her face fell a bit. "I had five kits. Three of them were stillborn, so now I have two." Berrypaw was pretty sensitive, best to get it over with in a matter of fact way. "They're named Wisteriakit, Bunnykit, Ashkit, Huntkit, and Flickerkit." If she didn't give them names, who would? Someone in Starclan, probably. But Scorchstrike was their mom, it was her responsibility to name them.

Wisteriakit just yawned once more. She was fed and now she wanted to nap.

Lilacfall plonked down into her nest and rested her chin on her paws. Borrrrred.Bored until her kits would come. {Open}

Ravenheart slowly padded in to the den and dipped his head to the cats inside. "I brought you this" he said to the kits and and dropped a little, gray pebble on to the moss. "It looks kind of like a mouse if you ask me, i thought you might like to practice on it"

Berrypaw cast a sad look towards the stillborns. "The names make sense." she mewed. "Do you need help to carry them out?"

She wanted to help with anything, really. Scorchstrike did seem like she needed help now. She cast a soft smile to the other two kits. They were cute!

The small marble tabby mewled at her environment. Wisteriakit just wanted to get so e sleep. All thse noises were exhausting. Her dreams were vivid and colourful, despite being so young.

Scorchstrike smiled slightly at Berrypaw's kindness. "No, it's alright. I should do it myself." Burying cats wasn't an action a young apprentice should take. This was something Scorchstrike had to do by herself.

Oh dear. This kit had no mother, and Scorchstrike was without some of her kits. Hmm...
Deadkit? Seriously? That name just sounded cruel. Sure, maybe her naming Bunnykit like that was a bit of a mistake, (but Scorchstrike stuck by her choices) but Deadkit was just awful. Why on earth would someone name their kits that? "That's not ideal. I probably wouldn't have named you Deadkit. Maybe Foxkit, Lynxkit, Blazekit, something like that," she mused a bit. Why was she being so kind to this kit? Maybe it was her mom instincts that had recently started showing, or whatever. Maybe she just felt bad.

Deadkit smiled her ( lonesome and heartbroken) smile. It’s ok not many cants notice me anyways..I’m often alone. her gaze had softened quite a bit. Yes those names are wonderful! But sadly I was stuck with deadkit..I’m not sure if my mom wanted me to be dead or not she mewed quietly.
