Stonewing glared at her, but told himself to calm down and cooly mewed, "I let you win, mouse-brained apprentice. If I was really trying, I would have won and you would be sorry. But, you're only an apprentice. What could I expect of you?"

Re: Survival of the Fishiest: Water Combat Training [ OPEN TO WARRIORS AND APPRENTICE

It seemed that with the different sizing match ups there were different results of the move, however Kestrelstar wasn't necessarily focused on the success or fail rate. More so, he wanted his warriors to be able to perform the moves, or at least gain a concept of how to complete them.
"The water weight works, especially if you're at a disadvantage size wise," the leader nodded to Baypaw as the apprentice successfully brought Starlingflight with him. He knew the older warrior most likely had allowed the apprentice to do so, but it was quite a fight from what he'd seen.
Circling back around, Kestrelstar noticed Willowvine and Yellowpaw, with Yellowpaw now on the island. Ah, so the idiot finally realized that eating in the middle of battle training wasn't a smart idea. With a sigh, the leader headed over, looking down at the tom. "It's just an upset stomach, you'll be fine Yellowpaw," he muttered, looking to Willowvine. "Take her back to camp please. You're excused from the rest of the training event*."

With that taken care of, Kestrelstar lifted his tail. "We have one final move! And this is more so a distraction of sorts. You can finish it off with any move you'd like that we've learned." Positoning himself, Kestrelstar swatted at the air to demonstrate. "You can hit the surface of the water, or use a stone, to cause a distraction. The few seconds after are given to you for an attack, where you'll easily catch your opponent off guard. Give it a try, then finish it off with any of the last moves we've learned."

Considering where the level of training had been this morning, Kestrelstar was pleased with how things had turned out. The leader stood in the center of the island, signaling with his tail for the cats to gather around him after finishing up their moves.
"I'm glad to see that so many of you came out to train, or sharpen your skills. We have a few cats who stood out to me, and I'd like to take them for some extra training with myself. Palepaw and Violetpaw, come join me here, as well as Nightleap and Mossywing. I admire your commitment to bettering RiverClan. We'll get started on our separate training soon." he told the four cats, nodding to them before raising his voice to address the rest of the gathered cats.
"You all did good. You treated this training session like a real battle, and I am honored to lead such driven cats. When the time comes for ThunderClan to pay..." he glanced up at the sky, wondering if his mother approved of his decision, "...we will make it so that they never forget who we are. We are RiverClan!" With a yowl, he reared into the air, hoping that his Clanmates would follow him. They were RiverClan, and they were strong. They would survive and fight until they claimed their rightful place as the greatest Clan in the forest.

Stonewing looked at Vinepaw, ready to distract her. But, the apprentice would be ready for the distraction. Which meant that he had to wait.

@ Fawnhearted
Rookpaw was finally able to land a move. Phew, it was getting embarrassing getting your bum kicked by an apprentice. Especially considering Lotusheart was much bigger and stronger than the average warrior.

And um, Lizardfrost was there too. It was not going how she'd expected.

Re: Survival of the Fishiest: Water Combat Training [ OPEN TO WARRIORS AND APPRENTICE
A distraction move? Interesting. Starlingflight recovered from the previous move, and she stood before Baypaw. Rearing up, Starlingflight used her paws and brought them down on the water's surface, spraying water into the apprentice's face. Within the next second, she had slipped around and hooked onto Baypaw's hind leg with her paw and yanked the smaller cat off balance.
Backing off then, Starlingflight waded from the river and flicked her paws. "Good work, Baypaw. You've got the makings of a fine warrior." She purred.
