Everything was going to plan. The meeting was running smoothly, reassignments were complete, and Cinderstar had made their stance on the training of Thunderclan's apprentices quite clear. Yet it seemed that Thunderclan would always have something or someone interrupt the flow of things.

Expecting perhaps some calls for demotion or other constructive-style punishments, Sparrowflight was visibly displeased as Dovecloud called out for Sleethound's leg to be broken in kind to his daughter's injury. Turning her head to face her clanmate with a disappointed look, Sparrowflight cleared her throat before addressing them.

"Have you become too accustomed to Shadowclan ways after they stationed themselves in our camp Dovecloud?" she questioned, shifting her paws on the roots under her feet. "We are Thunderclan. We do not punish cats through maiming them or rendering them incapable of helping themselves or their clanmates; that would be the opposite of what we want Sleethound to do."

Green eyes swept the crowd and gave Batblood a brief nod of recognition as the younger warrior padded over to admonish their peer.

"I am unsure as to why you wish Sleethound to gain 'a taste for revenge' when we are here to discuss his potential re-introduction to the clan through proving himself worthy. In my eyes that launches him directly in the opposite direction of where we want him to be."

Stars above, hopefully that would get through to the molly.

Gingerly, the tan warrior padded her way towards Cinderstar's den. The message from Twilightstar echoed on repeat in her head as she focused on not forgetting any of the details while her paws kicked up a fuss of their own and demanded her attention.

Just one quick stop, then I'll go see Sundust. Stars above, this is inconvenient.

"Back from Windclan Cinderstar," she stated, poking her head inside but not fully committing to going into the den. If she did that, then she'd have to walk all the way back out before going to the medicine den. Her paws might just fall off if she had to do that. "Twilightstar would like us to meet her at the border in 6 sunrises. We can bring up to 5 other warriors if you'd like, but she will be escorting us in."

Shifting her weight back onto her haunches slightly, Sparrowflight held back a wince as she continued.

"She also would like to send her congratulations. She wishes you a long and successful leadership. Now... If you don't have anything else you need of me, I uh---I will be in the medicine den."

Just as quickly as her tan head had appeared in the den, it was quickly withdrawn in embarrassment as she limped her way over to Sundust's abode.

Swankit groggily awoke to see light pouring out of the entrance of the nursery. "How long was I sleeping?", she wondered to herself, as she weakly stood up. She took note of Vinekit pacing with a mossball.

A purr rumbled in the large warrior’s chest, as he listened to what Cinderstar had to say next. He was just so excited! Ever since he had decided against pursuing the idea of taking care of the kits permanently he had wanted an apprentice. Raising the next generation was his dream come true! “If you’re not too tired, how does starting right after this meeting sound?” He hoped he would be a good mentor to Cardinalpaw, and that the younger cat was just as excited as he was.

Another reassignment? A bit late but he was sure it was for the best. What really caught his attention was Sleethound’s proposed punishment. His eyes darted over to Dovecloud as she made a violent suggestion. His skin crawled at the thought of purposefully maiming another cat. So needless and strange! Why not just throw him out instead? He shook his head. He would never go for that. If you don’t like that idea what would you suggest? His old mentor’s cutting voice rang in his head. She was right, of course. There was no use in arguing if he didn’t have a better suggestion. He tipped his head for a heartbeat. He didn’t quite know the cats involved, so maybe it wasn’t his place to be thinking of a punishment? He had decided not to say anything when what Sparrowflight said gave him an idea. “Maybe we should demote him until he can bring back thirty pieces of prey?” If it wasn’t good enough, some cat would think of something better. If it was good they would use it. Either way he hoped the issue was resolved in a way that Cinderpaw was satisfied with.

Skykit had been sleeping a few hours. When Skykit woke up he started to stretch and lick himself. Skykit saw a butterfly flying into the nursery. SKykit had jumped up and got ready to pounce.

Brightkit had been waiting outside for his brother to wake up and come. Brightkit gave up waiting for some time. So Brightkit sniffed the air but he could not differentiate one smell from the other because he wasn't trained. Brightkit thought about all the adventures he would do when he would be a warrior. Brightkit had a good imagination. Brightkit spotted a bird and tried to chase after it but he made too much noise that the bird flew far away.

"The only suitable option to me is exile."

Though the tom was late, and his tone soft, Buckbranch was still able to be heard as he approached the gathered crowd. "He attacked a Clanmate - attacked an apprentice. His own daughter. He hurled her out of the Thunderwillow and broke her leg in the process. Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but nothing temporary will fix this, and neither will reciprocating what Cinderpaw went through." His gaze flickered toward Dovecloud just momentarily. "We can't be certain he won't be a danger to someone else. He needs to go."

Echosong's ears perked up at Dovecloud's suggestion. Break his leg? What justice is that for Cinderpaw? What point does it make to Sleethound? Clearly the warrior wasn't the brightest star in the sky. If in his twisted mind he thought throwing an apprentice out of the Thunderwillow was ever a good idea... she shuttered at what else swirled around in his useless head. All she knew for sure was Dovecloud's suggestion only made Thunderclan stoop down to his level, instead of rising above.

It was Buckbranch's suggestion that resonated with the silver molly. Exile. Not temporary banishment to the territory, but permanent. He wouldn't hurt anyone else. If he did, Echosong would have no problem digging her claws into his flesh like the prey she hunted. The guy just... rubbed her the wrong way.

"I agree with Buckbranch. There are some actions that can be forgiven, but this? Cinderpaw was lucky it was just her leg that broke. We can't allow him to continue terrorizing our future warriors." She stood firm in her opinion. Sleethound was a menace.

The meeting seemed to be going pretty smoothly thus far, with a fair amount of cats being reassigned mentors who would hopefully be more involved with completing their new apprentices training. They knew that Bumblebreak would do an excellent job as a mentor; even if she was a new warrior she had been one of the loudest cats calling for apprentices to be treated more fairly. They were also glad roseheart was being stripped of her apprentice, something they didnt see done much actually. Normally cats were able to keep their apprentices as long as they didnt go missing with no regard to whether or not training was being done, so already Cinderstar was taking a step in the right direction.

Next up was a subject that they had quite a lot of motive to speak up on. Shallowshiver was already tired and over Sleetstorms behavior, but him harming their daughter was the the final straw. To their knowledge, he has not harmed a clanmate in the past, but sadly they wouldnt be surprised if he just and just tried to hide it, nor would they be surprised if he did it again. The difficult part of this was separating their own thoughts on him from this, but hopefully that wouldnt be an issue.

After taking a moment to listen to other cats suggestions, she stepped forward to speak up "I personally believe this is not a one-off occurrence. Sleethound has always been a vile cat behind the facade he so carefully puts up. Cinderpaw has looked past that and admired him as a father figure, yet he blatantly broke that trust by choosing to harm her. If he cares so little about the wellbeing of his own kin, then whats to say he values the safety of his clanmates either? I believe he should be exiled. As much as I hope and have hoped that he could become a better cat, this has gone on for too long. There is no changing him, that much I am sure of"

"Demoting him would do more harm than good, in my opinion" they sent a pointed look to the cats who had suggested that, "Putting him with the group of cats who he has harmed the most would just be punishing the apprentices, if anything."
