He especially loved the way the sun set in it, casting it's brilliant rays across the crystal-clear surface. Too bad that it was sun high right now, but the pond would still be beautiful, with how clear and glassy it was. And the babbling stream that flowed into it, the sound was always a comfort to Spicepaw. He was kind of a contradiction there. He was afraid of water, but he was comforted by the sound of it. I guess that's just one of the perks of being a Riverclan cat, through and through.
At Quillpaw's realization, Spicepaw couldn't stand the tone of his voice. This cat was supposed to be happy and care-free, and Spicepaw was supposed to have a good time out here with him. And he would make sure of that. "Don't worry, I didn't have any favorite places when I was your age. You just have to find them as you grow older and explore more of the territory." Spicepaw hopes he had convinced the younger tom. Especially since his words were true.
As they continued walking, Spicepaw decided they could try and make small talk. "So, um... What type of family do you come from?" It was the only thing that popped into his head. He knew families could be a touchy subject, he'd been there, done that. But if Quillpaw was willing to talk about his family, then Spicepaw would do the same. "I come from a very large family." Ot was true. Spicepaw did have quite a large family. Just a lot of them had died. Especially his siblings. Who he could just call his sisters, since he really had no brothers. Something that Spicepaw didn't mind much.
|
Quillpaw brightened at Spicepaw's assuring response. He glanced up at Spicey, admiration and excitement gleaming in his eyes. ``Really? Well, I guess it's okay not to have a favorite place right now. Actually, y'know what? RiverClan territory is my favorite place, mhm! It's my place, too, so don't you try taking it from me.`` Quillpaw was incredibly easy to convince. His tone had gone from excited and cheerful to cheerfully threatening as he spoke the final sentence. He had attempted to be as threatening as possible - which wasn't very threatening - but he ended up giggling.
He didn't remember the names of Spicepaw's kin, or who he was related to. Quillpaw had forgotten, even though it's only been a few minutes since Spicey told him. He jumped happily, his paws scraping up a couple clumps of earth. Family! He loved family! ``Oh yeah! My family is small, unless you count everyone like cousins and aunts! Then it becomes pretty big! There's my father, Frostedhawk. And my two brothers, Foampaw and Mudpaw!`` He didn't mention his mother, because he didn't want to think about her much. Frostedhawk had never brought up his mother, and he had never asked. Yet it did bother him some, unless he didn't think about it - it bothered him when he thought about it. Strange how Quillpaw came from a family of males, and Spicepaw came from a family of females. He giggled softly at this thought.

Autumn orbs were heavy with despair was he watched Cricketpaw struggle to hold onto her breath and he desperately tried to cling to life. It was sad to think that someone as young and promising as Cricketpaw ws now lying on the ground in the territory, bleeding out from a wound that shouldn't be. Northpath felt sick as he thought back how he had just stood there - sure he couldn't help, but it didn't make him feel any better after witnessing the scene. She was using the last of her breath on Geckoleaf and the starry tabby knew that it was only a few heartbeats before she had no more breathes. But he had to admit that he understood how she felt, understood that she had to tell her mentor and loved one how she felt.
After all, when he was dying he had done the same thing with Zerosight.
His gaze fell to the ground for a moment as the young cat's breathing seized, a sign that he life had ended. The tabby knew that Cricketpaw's spirit would soon re-waken and would need his guidance to get to Starclan. He forced himself to look back upwards, seeing the starry figure out the russet molly making her way towards him. Northpath tried not to seem so heartbroken as he noted the look of utter disappointment and sadness in her blue orbs as she realized that she was in fact dead. Understanding what it's like to dye in such a way, he felt completely empathetic towards her. But he wasn't exactly sure what to say to her, if was suppose to comfort her after a violent death like that. Swallowing he tried to blink her stinging orbs as she grew closer to him.
It felt as though a claw scratched at his heart as she spoke to him. His orbs flicked towards the ground before returning her gaze. "Yes, I suppose you were..." what should I be saying? The tom shifted his weight as he tried to think of something to say to Cricketpaw. He was a Starclan cat,
how come he didn't see this coming?! And why didn't anyone else ever say anything? Isn't it Starclan's job to look after the living cats? So why would they just simply let Cricketpaw die like this, why would they take such a young cat? He felt anger and confusion by this. Even though he now resided in Starclan, he still wasn't sure how they knew things and why they didn't always act on some of their knowledge.
But as she looked back at her own dead body and her mentor crying over her, it only got worse. Cricketpaw began to fall apart, crying and stating how it wasn't fair and that she could be healed by her mentor. He weakly shook his head. "I know.... It's not fair, trust me I know," he mewed softly. "But you can't go back. Cricketpaw, you're already dead and I'm sorry. If she could heal you, then you wouldn't have died but that tom had done too much damage and you were beyond healing," Northpath didn't want to share his anger with Starclan at the moment with her, he didn't want her impression of their ancestors be filled with hate as he showed her to Starclan. "I am really sorry Cricketpaw.... I didn't know this would happen and I couldn't help while you were attacked. I'm sorry," the tom didn't know what else to say but that he was sorry about all of this.
Standing back, the grey warrior felt cold and uncomfortable. It was strange to feel cold - it was warm out and she had been running, leaving her panting and tired - but still, the situation seeped into her bones as she watched Geckoleaf's reaction. She wished that there was something she could say to her friend. Despite the fact that she could empathize with the medicine cat, the warrior found it difficult to figure out the right words. Mistfall wasn't so good in such emotional situations and had trouble comforting somethings. Lately it seemed that her friends needed some comfort, but she was sure that she was little help to them, especially concerning this matter. Mistfall felt as though she should go over to Geckoleaf and try to calm her down, but the tabby seemed to far in her grief and was burying her face in Cricketpaw's neck and seem to lose any care in the world at the moment. She swallowed back emotions at Geckoleaf's words to Cricketpaw, telling her that she loved her apprentice and for her to never forget it.
As the medicine cat began to scream at Starclan for this treachery, the warrior couldn't help but feel both pity and a concern for Geckoleaf as well as the clan Mistfall. It was unnerving as she wondered if this incident would cause Geckoleaf to turn away from Starclan and her grief would lead her to have clouded judgement. What if Riverclan just lost their connection to Starclan? If we have no one to read omens from our ancestors, then what are we to do? Would Riverclan be doomed? The roll of a medicine cat was such an important one. It involved being the bridge between Starclan and the living - to recieve dreams, signs and messages from them that they believed the clans needed to know! She had heard that some medicine cats didn't really believe or acknowledge their ancestors in the same way as many of their clan-mates do, and she wondered if that would be the same for Geckoleaf because of all this.
But she knew that this was deeper then just their connection to Starclan. Their medicine - her friend - might not mentally recover from this. She had sch a fragile state of mind, especially so soon after a mental break-down. If her mind shattered, then there might not be any healing for her to do and she could end up beyond recovery. Even if she could be help, Mistfall knew that she wouldn't be enough to help her beloved friend and wasn't sure if anyone else would be up to doing something like that, to be able to help Geckoleaf after everything she's seen and been through. The medicine cat never seemed to tend to her own scars and just helped heal her clan-mates, but she was in need of some healing in order to help her. To be there for her support and actually be able to help her for something more permanent instead of a temporary fix.
But Mistfall knew that she wasn't such a cat for Geckoleaf, and that fact only made her feel more useless.
Ears perking as the medicine cat spoke again, but this time less angered. At first she thought that she might be speaking to her, but after hearing Geckoleaf's words and noticing her staring off she realized that she wasn't speaking to Mistfall. The warrior was confused - and still on edge - and whirled around in order to see whom her friend might be addressing. Brow furrowed in even further confusion upon seeing no one she turned back to Geckoleaf and became even more worried. Who was she talking to? And by 'watch over her', could she be talking about Cricketpaw? But that doesn't answer the first question... the warrior hoped that the grief wasn't making her friend go insane. She hadn't been able to see Northpath nor smell anyone else around them so to her knowledge there was no one there, which left her to believe that maybe her friend's sanity was being tested by the death of Cricketpaw.
Blinking as her friend turned her attention to Mistfall now. The warrior shook her head to clear thoughts in order to focus more on what her friend wished to say, wishing to be at least some help to her. The emotional toll of the whole situation seemed to take full affect on Mistfall now that her friend cried while looking into her pale orbs. Mistfall felt weakened. Although she had watched Geckoleaf weep over her apprentice's body, the grey warrior had intentionally tried not to look at Cricketaw herself, but now she forced herself to look down a the spotted body. There was a lot of blood, as to be expected after the strong scent of it, but she felt a bit sick. Mistfall didn't shy away from fighting - mostly due to her own darker side - but it was so much worse when it was someone innocent, especially someone young like Cricketpaw and a cat that didn't know to truly defend themselves like a medicine cat. This really shouldn't have happened... the warrior thought as she shifted her weight and her tail twitched.
The grey molly stiffened as Geckoleaf locked gazes with her. Mistfall was uncertain if she should do something, like go over to her grieving friend or maybe Geckoleaf preferred to be alone? If she wants to spend time alone, then I'll let her do so when I know she's safe in camp. But the warrior then noticed the medicine cat's muscles moving as she tried to force herself up. "Geckoleaf," she mewed in a quiet yet sharp tone and took a step towards the fiery tabby, seeing how weak from grief she was. She stopped as her friend made her way towards her in weak movements. Mistfall wasn't sure why Geckoleaf was trying to get to her, but she wished to help the medicine cat nonetheless. So the grey molly took another step forward but before she could go any further the tabby crumpled before her. "Geckoleaf!" Her voice became louder as she rushed to be by Geckoleaf's side. Mistfall crouched beside the tabby and listened as she spoke. The grey molly tried to seem strong for her friend and gave a small nod. "I know Geckoleaf, I know. But we have to get you back to camp," Mistfall wouldn't be able to get both Cricketpaw and Geckoleaf back in on trip, so she would have to make sure that Geckoleaf got to safety - and a much needed rest - before going back out to retrieve Cricketpaw's body in order for her clan-mates to show their respect for her. "I'll help you to camp," the warrior tried to help Geckoleaf back onto her paws, planning on support Geckoleaf all the way back to camp.
--
Northpath's gaze passed Cricketpaw and noticed Geckoleaf as she seemed to see him. The tom was surprised that she had noticed him, but was honestly a bit glad that she did. He hoped that this would give the grieving mentor some peace if she knew he was here. The tom also hoped that she would hate Starclan for this - but at the same time he could understand her anger she held for them. He wished that it hadn't happened like this, wished that he could have helped and that others in Starclan would have done something about this and saved the innocent apprentice. As the tabby watched Geckoleaf plead for him to watch over Cricketpaw he gaze held the same sadness and pain as when he looked at Cricketpaw herself, and he gave a strong nod as he promised to watch over the deceased apprentice.

(i think this'll be the cap post to the rp; starclan territory after this, hexict?)
The medicine cat shuddered on the ground, waves of emotion prompting her muscles to contract in turn; nothing was right anymore, nothing felt correct or good in the world. Her body curled into an inadvertant ball, nose pressed into the soft fur of her stomach. She couldn't bear to see the blood that coated everything, that even painted her a sickly shade of chartreuse. Too much flooded her mind, the sensory overload driving her even further past the point of redemption.
She saw, somewhere in the far edges of her desiccated mind, Mistfall leaning down to try and help her get up. She didn't move, simply closed her eyes and lay still, no longer struggling; what did she have to struggle for? Not a future, certainly, with almost no one left who seemed to care for her, and not an apprentice to train; never another apprentice. Nothing seemed right, and nothing seemed fair; StarClan seemed to have abandoned her, without a second thought.
Geckoleaf's tears were silent, clear, cutting tracks of fire orange through her blood-stained fur; the water was tainted red as it dripped off her chin, splashing soundlessly to the ground. Her eyes closed, sealing off the dripping tap of her sadness. Her blue orbs had drifted listlessly around her field of vision, and provided no more information than they did when exposed the the darkness.
The blackness was so comforting, so familiar; it felt like her mind, flat and dark and infinitely black. Her ears flattened, and she fell into a sleep like unconsciousness, soft and gentle.

While Northpath spoke, Cricketpaw barely heard any words that left his mouth. Instead, she had turned her gaze back towards where Geckoleaf was now crumpled in front of Mistfall. Her heart ached,, beating quick like dull horse hooves, and in that moment she felt as though she would do absolutely anything to be by her mentor's side again. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she realized that never again would she wake up in the RiverClan medicine den to the sweet smell of honey and leaves. Never again would she feel Geckoleaf's tail float across her back as she comforted her after a particular stressful conversation with her mother. Never again would she heard the words, "I'm so proud of you" leave her mentor's mouth, the five words that seemed to fix every single broken piece of the bengal's past.
After a few moments, the rivers in her eyes finally drying, leaving her fur wet and matted, the apprentice turned back to Northpath. Her face felt sunken in, and each pawstep weighed as though the entire StarCave was place atop her back. "Let's just go," she muttered, not meeting Northpath's eyes as she began to walk aimlessly away from the scene. She just couldn't take anymore; each time she gazed across her lifeless body a tiny piece of her heart shattered and fell into the broken oblivion that now occupied her thin frame. All her life, she had been taught to look up to StarClan, to search for them on her darkest nights and gloomiest days. Where were they during that battle? she thought, a flicker of hatred quickly engulfing her heart. She knew that once she was among the stars more her attitude might change, but for now the only feeling that resonated within her was betrayal and a longing for Geckoleaf.
(Kept it short to rap this up; should the next post be North and Cricket in StarClan after him and Geckoleaf?)

Whatever had happened, it wouldn't be right for a long time. And, it wasn't his place to ask. Jasperpelt had a naturally worried and caring nature, but he could tell from her expression and the strain that seemed to be active in her voice that she just wasn't okay. He didn't need to know what happened. He didn't need to know whether or not another cat was involved, or who it was. All that Jasperpelt needed to do was be there, just in case. Just to be on the safe side. Some cats could get rather careless in a distressed state, and he wanted to make sure nothing would happen. Whether it involved wandering across another border, or accidentally hurting herself - Jasperpelt had seen both. He hadn't been able to stop it that time.
But this time? He could. Perhaps there was a way to fix the brokenness he could sense. "Wh-what's your f-favorite... favorite, um... kind of... f-flower?" Jasperpelt asked, trying to sort the words out. It was a subject change. An interesting one, but the first thing he had associated her with in his mind was a flower. Delicate, beautiful petals. Gentle, supple stem. Both seemed to describe Shellfeather in a way. Shellfeather. Such a unique sounding name, a name that Jasperpelt liked a lot. He thought it was pretty. When she leaned into him, the tom wasn't quite sure what to do. This was not the most common of occurances for him. For, while the tom seemed to very much enjoy bringing a little hope to others, and while he might be good with physical contact, normally the cats he was helping didn't seem to appreciate it quite as much as he thought.
And so he just sat there. Keeping his tail around her in a manner that was firm and strong, but gentle and caring in a way as well. He made it seem like he was there for protection. Although the contact seemed to say 'I'm here for you' in a way. A talent indeed, but it was underappreciated by even the black feline himself. He seemed to think it wasn't anything special. And perhaps it wasn't. But maybe, just maybe... to Shellfeather it would make a difference. Maybe tiny, and maybe huge.
|
Shellfeather's breaths started to regulate as she lay against the tom, a quiet calm in the air around them. The only sounds were the rushing of the river not too far away, the birds chirping in the nearby trees, and the rustling of reeds. This is what the she-cat needed. Just a quiet moment to take in nature's beauties, erasing her mind of all of the hurt and sorrow she'd experienced in the past few moons. The physical and emotional hurt. And her mental incapability to handle it all. Especially with how every little thing that could go bad seemed to be going bad. Every thing that she believed in, loved, hoped for, had seemed to just be crumbling around her. It's like she was trying to hold up a cracked stone. It just crumbled in her paws and fell to the ground. That was her life right now. And she tried to make it better. She tried to continue to look for the good in each and every day. But she couldn't do it alone. She needed someone by her side, someone to support her, and someone she could help support. But the cat wS gone. Russetstar was far away now, leader of Ricerclan, mate to Whisperblaze.
The cat he had loved all along. Shellfeather felt as if he hadn't really ever truly loved her. As much as she had loved him. By it was all over now. That part of her life, the part that was perfect, was gone. She was now living in a world where things didn't go her way, a world where she was alone.
As Jasperpelt's words broke the silence, Shellfeather lifted her head up to look at him. He at least, this cat she just met, deserved some respect from her. He was helping her, comforting her in the best way he could. Even though he didn't know her all that well. "My favorite flowers are... W-at-ter lilies." She stammered, tears starting to pool at the edges of he eyes. "Russetswirl a-always b-brought some to me when I-I w-was in the nur-nursery." Shellfeathet couldn't help it. The memory just broke her heart over again, knowing that she could no longer have what she used to have. Tears streamed down her face as she buried her head in Jasperpelt's fur once more, her kind racing with images of water lilies. The white ones with pink tips, perfectly shaped, and smelt amazing. Russetstar had always known wgich ones were perfect, which ones were her all time favorite.
But now, water lilies only broke her heart more, shattering it into more tiny little peices. Soon enough, there would be no more left of her heart. The heart that had always been quite fragile.

But then again, Cardinalflash had always been an endearing tom. He was handsome. He was friendly. He was funny, sometimes... outgoing and had the word handsome already been mentioned? Anyways, Cardinalflash was the type of tom that he believed she cats should be lining themselves up to see. Wasn't it sad when a cat with such good looks was without a partner? A companion, not necessarily a mate... but a cat who would be there for him to "date" so to speak? Yes, that was what Cardinalflash was missing from his life. A special cat that he could hang around and perhaps Angelcloud was the perfect specimen. Pretty. Fun. And she would definitely go out with him.
Yep, Cardinalflash was certain that he could get the feline's attention. All he was going to have to do was make sure that he kept her attention. Nature claimed her? That was a funny thing to say. But, of course, the tom refrained from laughing. His head was soaked, and because of his thicker fur, some was hanging down in a way that made him look bedraggled. Yet his hues never lost their playful spark, and he was still a handsome cat - right? He had a good appearance. Surely Angelcloud couldn't deny that. Now, all he needed was for her to realize that she wanted to stay around him. Perhaps she would realize it after he left? Maybe what he needed was for her to realize that his companionship was more valuable then everything else. Although, that was a stretch. Ok, C-Flash. You totally got this. Pretty girl, handsome guy, it's the beginning of every love story in the world... he thought for a moment.
Did twolegs have love stories? Surely they did, because he had heard of twolegs having kits. "If nature claimed you, then I suppose I stand a chance here. Every relationship falls apart eventually... all I have to do is wait, right? That relationship doesn't stand a chance with me around... I mean, I'm C-Flash! No she cat in her right mind would turn a tom like me down. So think carefully, pretty Angel." Her name certainly suited her. Angelcloud. It was as though he were looking at an angel who had descended from StarClan just moments before. It's like StarClan sent her to entertain me for the day. Or the moon. Or for the next few moons, who knows? Perhaps she'll be sent back to StarClan with me. Perhaps she was only sent here for my entertainment purposes. Maybe she's the one that I'm supposed to hang around, hmm? Cardinalflash thought.
He was a hopeless romantic. He always had been. Always would be. "You from StarClan, Angelcloud?" He asked. Honestly, Cardinalflash was wondering why her name wasn't pretty angel. Though that would be a funny Clan name. Still, he would call her that. It was a nice name. He liked it. And, he was hoping that she would slowly get used to him and his quirkiness. Cardinalflash wasn't used to being rejected right away. Yet, it seemed that Angelcloud wasn't interested in the tom. But why not? Was there something wrong with him? Did she not find him appealing physically or personality wise? Or perhaps she was actually taken by a cat named Nature. Whoever would name a cat a stupid name like that would have to be crazy. And for a pretty girl like Angelcloud to be in a relationship with a cat named Nature? That was twice as crazy.
"Aww, look at you. Being all pretty and war-like... I like a competitive female. So take it as you see it, pretty Ang-" He was cut off as she splashed him, and he felt more water droplets sprinkle his already soaked fur. Oh, it's on. The tom thought as he jumped towards her, aiming to splash her as well. The tom was excited for their little game. Already he was having quite a bit of fun with the pretty striped feline. Yes, she was his dream companion. Pretty, fun, able to joke around, not too shy around him and not too fowards, pushing herself on him... a challenge, but not so much of one that Cardinalflash believed he would run out of time. Yes, she was perfect. He was confident that Angelcloud was his future companion. Which was just a little scary, because the feline had been searching for the right cat almost all his life. Now that he found a new she cat and possibly future "girlfriend", what was he supposed to do with her?
Jaywhisper had opened his maw to answer her first words, but it dropped open as she continued. He had marked the feline as the shy type, or a cat like him, not so much of one to go rambling on and on. And yet, lo and behold, here she was... talking as though there was no tomorrow. Well, Jaywhisper could appreciate that. He didn't mind that at all. And he certainly wasn't put off by it. For a moment, all Jaywhisper did was listen to her talk. Then, he finally opened his maw to answer her. "I love the river. It's a nice place. I've always found it easy to sleep here, although that was when certain companies were not present. Meaning my brother... Cardinalflash is a bit of a handful sometimes. And I'm certain you feel the same way about your sister. I don't believe I got her name, but she's quite pretty - probably the reason C-Flash seemed so drawn to her." Jaywhisper's voice was quiet.
Then again, it was always quiet. Because he was a silent cat. A quiet ambassador, pretty much all the time. Not that anyone really minded. Who cared about a quiet, intelligent, saying-what-he-meant cat? He did love the river. And he did believe that the other striped cat was pretty. But, Heavencloud was quite interesting. So, he would tell her that... right as soon as he stopped for a minute. That had been a lot of talking for him. And even he was surprised by what he had managed. For him, it was a monumental effort. For him, that was like delivering a speech within thirty seconds. Even though it had been a longer period of time, and it had hardly been a speech, Jaywhisper figured it the same way. Perhaps it was just a part of his personality. He had always been one to do that. Act that way. Not that anyone had really minded, after all... no one really payed attention to him.
"So, I don't believe I know your name. Or your sister's name, come to think of it. I'm Jaywhisper and, as I mentioned before, my brother - the one swimming in the water and making a fool of himself - is Cardinalflash. Or C-Flash. Cardinal. All sorts of cute little nicknames for him. None for me." Again, it was like delivering a speech for Jaywhisper. Although he wasn't sure how to make introductions shorter. He wasn't the type to say 'hi, I'm Jaywhisper! Nice to meet you' and be done with it. Although the words he spoke often made sense. He was glad of that, anyways. It was nice to be a cat who was known as someone who made sense. Jaywhisper had always wanted to be the type of tom that cats could sort of... understand, no matter what he was saying. And while he might not be exactly that, he figured that he came pretty close.

Any she cat that got complimented without fishing for them would be flattered. Yet, Angelcloud was flattered. As well as uncomfortable. Baffled. Annoyed. Amused. A mix of emotions--and, she only just met the tom. Did he ever stop flirting? Giving her compliments off the bat? It was an old trick. Something Angelcloud continuously stayed away from. Even Tawnyshade hardly flirted with her nowadays. And, now look at them! They became best friends. Nothing out of the ordinary when it came to her. She saw every tom as a brother--or, a play toy. No tom could keep up to her. Eventually, they figured she was too much of a wild feline to tame. That, or they would be annoyed with her uncooperative state to work with them. See, with Angelcloud, she knew all the twists. All the turns. All the knots. Every obstacle. While this was going on in her mind, she played along with the current tom. Nothing wrong with that. She kept a smile on her face, she continued to play with him. And, couldn't she just ignore his flirting advances? Yeah, probably. Or, she could laugh at him. But that would only hurt him...maybe. She wasn't that insensitive.
''Why thank you,'' She suppressed a giggle. That was kinda hard though. She enjoyed laughing at flirting techniques. Everyone's was different, and so far his was the best! ''But I can't imagine how many times I've heard that in my life...or, how many other she cats you seem to flatter.'' She kept her voice peppy at she talked to him. No laced sarcasm or aggression. For Angelcloud, she didn't get sarcasm. At all. It would go over her head, and she definitely couldn't find herself being sarcastic. So, what she said was somewhat true. She figured a tom like Cardinalflash wouldn't hold himself down. How many she cats were there? Hanging on to every sweet word he said? How many had/is calling him C-Flash? Or, did she just receive the special treatment? Even if that were the case, though she doubted it highly, she couldn't see this. Everything was practically a fun-loving game to her. This forest was her arena. Angelcloud just didn't get why she was his target. But everything he said, she figured it was some type of game. So, she played along. She met toms like him before. And, though she had been foolish once, she had observed, and she had learned. Toms like Cardinalflash? They were trouble. Then again, didn't Angelcloud like trouble?
Oh, yes! Angelcloud loved to be risky. Jumping from tree to tree, testing herself to see how far down she could go in the water, holding her breath in a competition, battle training with other warriors--anything and more. Angelcloud was a cat that never turned down a challenge. No matter how dangerous or stupid it was. It was pretty certain that if she were going down, she would bring a whole chain of cats with her. Angelcloud was pretty immature whenever it came to her losing. And, her attention was pretty hard to obtain. At the moment, she had been caught up with Cardinalflash. She was dearly enjoying his company. How long would that last, though?
As she continued to swim around in the water, circling around the tom, her ears flicked at his words. She stopped for a second, giving him a peculiar look. Her head tilted slightly to the side. A frown crossed her face at first, before it lit up in a smirk. Every relationship falls apart eventually... all I have to do is wait, right? It made her think for a second. Was it true? Every relationship falls apart. Angelcloud didn't know how to feel about this, and for a moment she was about to be mad--or, seriously annoyed with the company she felt she was enjoying. Nice way to ruin the moment...saying something like that. For Angelcloud, even though she hardly took things serious--one day, she would grow up. Want something real, and allow it to blossom. Thinking that it would fall apart because every relationship fell apart made her sad for some odd reason. Angelcloud put on a thoughtful expression before it dissolved into one of playfulness once more. She wanted to splash him again, but he looked soaked enough. The sight was pretty funny to her. ''Why would I give you a chance if every relationship fell apart? Is that the only reason you're talking to me?'' Now, her voice was dripping with innocence. She was truly curious if the tom was being serious, or if he just something off the whim, instead thinking it through. ''I think relationships should take time and blossom--not fall apart. I think Nature and I are happy together.'' She says, her eyes looking around at their surroundings. Nature was very pretty, and the only thing that seemed to understand her more than other cats. When she brought her teal orbs back to her semi-friend, as she couldn't pinpoint of what she thought of him, she gave him a bright smile, giggling. ''I'm certain a she cat will find you quite as adorable as I do, C-flash! One day you'll find someone serious.'' She kicked her hind legs up, closing her eyes for a moment as she started swimming around again.
Yes, the tom would find someone serious. And, as she would. Though her last statement, she was pretty clueless on what he meant. Why should I think carefully? Angelcloud felt that she didn't have to think at all when it came to him. Everything would be normal to her, sometimes she wouldn't notice a thing, so she simply shrugged at the thought. Upon his next words, the she cat opened her eyes, and she cast him another quick glance. This time she laughed--pretty hard. How many times have I heard that one? ''Hmmm...I'm pretty sure I'm from Riverclan.'' She blinked her eyes, appearing innocent, but she knew all too well what he was up to. ''Unless my mother was from a different clan, but then again, I don't think she was, but more my sister knows more about our past than I do.'' She giggled. Speaking of her sister...
Where was she? The golden striped cat turned her eyes to the shore, making out the form of two cats. From afar, she could see her sister talking to another cat. This made her confused. Heavencloud hardly allowed herself to socialize with other cats. Sometimes she came off as passive aggressive. Other times she was socially awkward. Angelcloud debated if she should run out the water to tend to her sister, but Heavencloud seemed to be doing fine. Though, her attention was taken back by the flirty tom beside her. He doesn't know when to stop, does he? She wasn't mad. At all. Nor, was she annoyed. In fact, quite the contrary. She was amused. She was entertained. And, she loved it. She completely turned back to him, providing him her undivided attention. Yet, she still didn't understand him. Take it as I see it? She tilted her head for a second, processing everything he said. ''But what if it changes as I get it?'' Her thought chain was cut off short however, as she saw the tom jump at her. As the water splashed her, Angelcloud let out a screech. A playful one that if one actually heard her, they might think she was calling out for her. She aimed to splash him back, and hopping that her hind legs wouldn't betray her as wished to swim away from him. He was very complicated to her. Yet, she loved his playfulness, and that was something she knew she would never get tired of. Looks like I made a new best friend!
So far...so good. Heavencloud had thought she lost her chance. She thought he would get up and walk away from her. Or, that he was sitting next to her only to get intel on her sister. It wasn't a first time that it happened, which brought out her annoyed state. Heavencloud was a pretty easy cat to annoy. She was easy to become passive aggressive--she didn't have a problem with having a conversation then. Only when she was really mad. As she listened to him talk, she offered a small smile. It was no use being aggressive. She could be kind. Yet, she had started the conversation first. So, score! And, he had responded. Double score! When he finished talking, Heavencloud quickly glanced in the river where two felines were playing. She tilted her head. It made her slightly uncomfortable at watching them playing in the water. She could easily detect the brother he was talking about. A reddish-orange tom, much thicker fur than the two of them. The she cat flicked her tail. ''The river is great,'' She said, her voice a little distant as she stared into the rippling water. Then, she looked away, emitting out a small sigh. ''Your brother does look like a handful. My sister is...something else.'' Her ears suddenly laid flat against her head, and she wrapped her tail tighter around herself, looking back at the two frolicking cats. ''She is pretty, isn't she? Quite the little sweetheart, if given the chance. Um, her name is Angelcloud.'' She replied, though she didn't know how to presently feel. Her sister had always been the little sweetheart, certainly the angel out the both of them. ''What tom wouldn't be drawn to her? She's really a fun feline. Aside from pretty looks and all. I'm surprised he was brave enough to get to know her himself--suppose you want to know more about her?'' The small she cat quickly glanced at the slate colored tom before turning away.
Maybe that was the reason. It had always been the reason. Heavencloud wished that more toms were like this Cardinalflash who went up to Angelcloud without coming to her sister's keeper first. The thought pretty much annoyed her, but right now she felt serene. She wanted to remain serene until Angelcloud was ready to leave and ready to travel back to the clearing. That way, Heavencloud would leave the company of her sister and sleep somewhere else nearby. That sounded...heavenly right now.
The first thing she noted was how quiet his voice was. He sounded soothing...kind of. She liked a soft, low voice. It was a lot better than boisterous voices that made her ears jump in distaste. The she quietly scooted herself next to him. Only a tiny bit. She didn't know he felt about personal space. And, she only did this to hear him more clearly. Heavencloud was too lazy to strain her ears to hear every word he said. So, she laid down next to him, curling herself into a tight ball, her tail wrapped around her, and her paws tucked in underneath her. He wants to know my name? Why he wants to know my name? I'm not an interesting cat to know my name! But...he did introduce himself...and his brother...and he does know Angelcloud's name now. What else does he need to know about her? Maybe I should wait before I give him any info on her...after all, I have to see if he would be a potential interest for her--Wait, why do I care about that? Shouldn't I give him what he wants to know about her, so he can get up and steal her attention away from, umm...what's his name? C-flash...? Okay, I'm too much in my thoughts, and he's waiting for me to answer.
''Um...I-I...um... I'm Heavencloud,'' she stopped for a moment, exhaling a breath. That was extremely weird to be introducing herself. He asked for her name! Though she appeared confused, she allowed the expression to wipe away. ''Probably just making a fool of himself to impress the little Angel. Little does he know, it's probably not working.'' She shrugged, then gave a light giggle. Heavencloud knew her sister more than she knew herself sometimes, and judging by the way Angelcloud was acting, Heavencloud pretty sure knew that Angelcloud was mainly using the poor tom as a play mate. May Starclan be with him...
''Haha, those are some cute nicknames.'' Heavencloud admitted. Cardinal...C-flash. They carried a ring to them, made him seem like he was one of the most handsomest toms in the clan. Then, her ears flicked. ''No cute nicknames for you?'' She asked, then shook her head. ''Angelcloud was pretty much given a nickname every time a new tom met her,'' Heavencloud rolled her eyes. ''I'm pretty much known as Heavens or Heavenly, sometimes even...Hea.'' Though that was the name she disliked the most for some odd reason. It sounded too weird for her taste. ''Oh! I'm sure you'll get a cute nickname. Have you always wanted one? They're not really special.'' She looked down, nipping at her tail for a quick second before she looked back at the pretty blueness of the river. As she gave her chest fur a couple licks, the she cat turned to look at...Jaywhisper. ''Unless someone special gives it to you. Then, you would feel like you're one in a million.'' Haven't everyone wanted to be different? Stray away from what was ordinary? To be original? That was what Heavencloud wanted, but then she recoiled at the idea and allowed life to slip her by. And, that...is what I suppose makes it special.

Jasperpelt stayed beside her, careful not to move. Shellfeather was beginning to calm now, her breathing regulating, and he could almost feel her relaxing. The ebony-pelted tom wanted to say something comforting and sweet, but he had never been the type of cat to be able to do that well. And he didn't want to accidentally make her cry again. Jasperpelt hated it when any cat cried. But especially a she cat. And Shellfeather seemed so innocent and pure, it was difficult for him to think about her being sad. Although he had just met her. Manipulation was, unfortunately, common - and Jasperpelt was being careful to look out for comments that sounded as though she were trying to trick him. So far? Nothing. It seemed like she was truly sad. That was why he had tried the thing with the flowers, changing the subject, figuring out something to say that would be... easy to start up a conversation with.
He had thought it would be a good idea. Some sort of subject matter to try and make her feel better, but... from the warning signs he could almost see gathering... he knew that he had made a mistake. Why couldn't he say something comforting and cool right then? Try and make her stop. Just feel better. Jasperpelt didn't often cry in front of others, because he knew that he wasn't supposed to... he was supposed to stop them from crying. And he hated it when other cats cried.
Uh oh. He thought as she began to speak, swallowing as he saw the tears beginning to pool in her blue eyes. This was bad. Very bad. He had started up a conversation, and now he had failed. "Water lilies? Those... those are p-pretty, huh? I-I've always liked roses, heh... umm... how about y-you?" The warrior asked, shifting his weight a little and trying to figure out a new subject for them to talk about. Something that hopefully wouldn't make her cry. Maybe... maybe something about prey, or colors, or time of day... he would just get to know her, that would be a good idea! The tom kept his tail curled around her, staying there so that she could have some form of comfort while he thought about things to say. Words were not a strong point for him. He was always stumbling over them, having to figure out what to say in order to comfort others - since he hated seeing them cry.
"Um, uh... what's y-your favorite color? An- and i-if you could be deputy, l-leader or medicine cat, which one would you be?" He asked, speaking as quickly as he could. At the same time, he was staying pressed against her in order to offer the physical comfort that seemed to have been working so far. And thankfully, Jasperpelt didn't mind it. Not at all. Eye contact was hard, speaking was hard... but actions always spoke louder then words.

But, at least she was RiverClan, then all she had to do was cool off in, or by the river. Once she learned to swim. Oh boy that would be fantastic! She could almost dream it and it feel real, and be real in her life. She was a newly named apprentice now. And that meant she could leave camp, it was exciting, and new for her. But right at the moment, she wanted to relax. Just. Relax. Not do anything right at the moment. And not worry about her... mother's disappearance. As long as she did that, she would be fine. Well, now she was thinking about it. Anger swept through her like an ocean wave. Growing closer and closer. And sadness swept through at the same time. Tears fell down from her face, a distressed look on her face as she stared at her reflection. Why... Why. Why did her mother leave. Why. Her optics narrowed as she unsheathed a claw, slashed through her reflection, tears in her eyes. Before she looked away, her tail curled around her, raising a paw to wipe away her tears. Did she do something wrong? What was it? She would try to work it out. Did she hate her? Did she hate dad? The questions continued to come through her mind, until nothing was left. Why.

Spottedleap's eyes kept with the water, multiple fish swam by, making her twitch in attempts to lung forward. But as she touched the water every time, the prey was too fast, and slipped out of reach. Getting frustrated, she shot up and turned away from the river. Of course, that wouldn't help with her hunting skills, timing was the issue. Each and every time she failed. How could she be a RiverClan cat if she can't even hunt the prey that fed her clan? Sighing, she padded away. But seeing some cat at the other part of the river. She tilted her head, but seemed to shrug and step closer to the river. This cst had nothing to do with Spottedleap, but she was more into spying a bit rather than talking.

@Starstar
Runningpaw didn't notice the cat, not that she really cared all that much anyways. She let out an angry and upset huff. She always thought of her mother, ever since her disappearance. Wondering over and over why her mother left. It always drifted into her mind one way or another. "Why can't I just move on?" The black she-cat muttered to herself, watching her reflection, reflecting her blue-green optics, filled with anger, wariness, grief, and sadness all in the mix. It was a struggle to push it in the back of her mind half the time, it always was a struggle. She lashed her tail as she stared at her reflection. She often wished she looked like her mother, she wished she could make her legacy more great. So she would make her mother to be remembered. Maybe she could. She would. But how, she didn't know just yet, but she would somehow do it. Maybe, make her own legacy. She knew her mother was never really all that important. She wasn't the deputy, nor was she a leader. Just a queen. Maybe. She let out a sigh, ears pinned at the back of her head as she continued to stare into the water. It was calm here, but a storm was raging in the inside.

As Mistyeyes stepped onto the territory, he blindly looked over his shoulder, sniffing the air once more, she was following him, and that was great, he then continued his way towards a tree, where he sat and waited for the she-cat to come over and sit with him, he was honestly pretty nervous about what he would be telling her soon, but he was also pretty surprised by the fact that she had never realised that he had a crush on her.

Wavesplash followed the blind warrior and took her place beside him. "So, is there something I did?" Concern was laced through her voice. "If I have done anything to offend you or done something to affect you..." She gazed at him. "Or did you need my help in anything?" She gasped in excitement. "Is it a molly? Or if you're into toms, that's fine too."
She smiled nervously. Nosing him gently, she rubbed her head against his shoulder, in a friendly manner.
