ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

As Softpaw looked at Lotuspaw, or, their corpse, she felt saddened, especially by the news of it being from a coyote. They had attacked her clanmates before, killing many of them, and it was something she hated, but, oddly enough, it didn't just sadden her, it pissed her off too. For moons now, seasons even, her clan had been a wreck, especially with these predators, she remembered Aspenstar's death, or it's announcement anyway, that was caused by them.

But the main thing she remembered about them was their attack on camp when she was a kit. It was Newleaf, she knew that, Specklenose and the other queens scurried her and her peers out quickly while the warriors fought, and that moment had scarred forever, even if she didn't entirely realize it at first. As Bushpaw went over and essentially demanded to be a part of the fight, Softpaw knew he wasn't going to be the only apprentice hunting down the coyotes as well.

' 'Cinderstar, I feel similar to Bushpaw here, the coyotes have been causing us issues for nearly as long as I can remember, and I want to be a part of this as well, I know we're both only apprentices, but we've trained for moons, Bushpaw fighting at the cove from what I remember.' ' She then took a sigh, and thought about what her ex-friend had also said. . .about going without Cinderstar's permission, she wouldn't go to that length, but, she wouldn't stop Bushpaw if he did.

As the Clan gathered in the clearing after seeing a dead apprentice, Flamekit looked over and sorrow covered her eyes. Poor Lotuspaw... Although she never knew the apprentice, she felt for the warrior who had lost his sibling, even though she does not have any siblings herself.

Deciding not to interfere in the Clan's mourning, Flamekit headed off into the nursery, her tail practically dragging on the ground out of exhaustion and sadness. StarClan, watch over Lotuspaw!

Flamekit stepped into the nursery and went to clean her claws. She had gotten clumps of the leaf stuck in her claws and it was beginning to annoy her. The she-kit sat down and took a canine and began to scrape the insides of her claws clean. She paused between each time and spat the leaf parts onto her nest then covered it up with her other paw.

~ Mistheart ~

Anguished yowls were what roused Mistheart from her nest in a panic. Grey fur puffed up in alarm as white paws scrambled out of the warriors den to confront whatever awful event was happening in the clearing. Panting as she skidded to a stop just outside the den, grey eyes flicked throughout the camp before landing on the too still body of Lotuspaw and her brother--oh stars, her brother.

Her own sorrow momentarily forgotten, Mistheart hurried her way next to Bushpaw and pressed her fur against his own as he stated his determination to help with the patrol. A shudder went through her as the thought of any harm coming to him, but she couldn't bring herself to voice an objection in his current grief.

Instead, her tail firmly curled over his back and a sigh of sorrow escaped her jaws.

"Please be careful," she murmured. "We gotta be warriors together someday brother. You can't let a stars damned coyote prevent that."

“Well, since I’m 5 moons old now, our apprenticeship ceremonies shouldn’t be too far away from each other. In fact, I’m sure we’ll be training and hunting together soon.”, Swankit spoke, grabbing the mossball and tossing it upwards, back to Vinekit.
