Flamekit, after getting the last piece of leaf that was stuck to her claws, looked up and smiled at Swankit and Vinekit.
"Yeah, you wouldn't want to go out of the camp to search for Violetkit while you're still a kit, I made that mistake," she purred. "I'm sure you'll both get great mentors, this clan is full of great warriors!"
The orange and white tabby kit then added, "I'll probably be an apprentice after you two, near the end of next moon. Do you two mind if I join in the moss-ball game?"
>> Icicleripple she/they - blue-grey molly with tabby markings and green eyes
Oh. That actually went better than expected,, considering that still .. . missing a patrol completly was a big deal in the sense of duties. And especially since she had returned not too long ago-- proving herself was something even a sparrow could see the need to do. Just redoing the job seemed on the slight side of things all points considered, as it was what she should have been back with the medical plants originally.
"Thank you.. ,,. yes of course!- I can sniff around later as well to gather more plants in addition to what we can hopefully find. There's a spot along the bank of Sunkissed Creek that's good for marigold." Actually though, she did overuse that spot a lot for the growing of the golden colored flowers. Perhaps searching for another area where they were abundant would be of use. (another thing to add to the mental list) Hopefully this time around, Icicleripple wouldn't procrastinate on it or stop in her tracks half way through.
"I'd uh.. if it's good with you of course-- like to get onto it now.., I have
vague idea of a place to stop quickly grab some cobwebs as well.., and seriously.. I promise it won't happen again. I'm going to be trying harder,,- " and now, it was time for her own green eyes to look up from the ground and give a slight smile of gratitude.
Giving the warrior a nod, he rose to his paws. "Let's get going then," he said with a smile. With a wave of his plumy tail, Moosecrash padded towards the camp entrance. The more herbs they could gather the better, especially since the stores had been depleted during the battle. His shoulders may have healed, but he could still feel the scar tissue stretch and flex as he moved. Shaking his head slightly, he cast the thoughts from his head before the images could flash through his mind. No use thinking about the past.
(I'll post a starter for this in the cove)
The massive tom looked up as Cinderstar padded into the clearing, sadness filled his gaze. Another apprentice, gone too soon. Padding up to where Rosepaw had buried her face in Lotuspaw's fur. Laying his tail gently on her shoulders, he leaned his head down to speak into her ear. "I am so sorry, Rosepaw," he murmured. His ear flicked as he heard Cinderstar's call to action. Turning his head to look her in the eyes, Moosecrash nodded. "I'll go as well."
Flamekit, after getting the last piece of leaf that was stuck to her claws, looked up and smiled at Swankit and Vinekit.

"Yea...i don't think i'll be planning to go out of camp until i'm an apprentice and of course! You can play mossball with us!" vinekit meowed
Flamekit's eyes brightened and she moved over to the two kits with a few short steps. She then sat a couple of tail-lengths away from Vinekit and prepared herself for an incoming moss-ball.
"Who do you guys want to be your mentors?" Flamekit asks. "I hope mine's Pineleap, she seems really fun!"

Cinderstar
Just as soon as it started, the anger that pulsated from Spiderthroat gave way to anguish, and Cinderstar was ready for when his arms went from slashing to wrapping themselves around her. She pulled him as close as she could, resting her chin on the top of his head. It was easy to feel the thud of his heart, the way it was quick and darted around. Sobs soaked into her fur, but she paid no mind to it. The sliced flesh and fur was not deep enough to warrant any visit to Sundust thankfully, but the leader wouldn't have cared if it had. Spiderthroat had needed her in that moment. He had needed her to be something to take his anger out on. His pain.
After a moment or two, she pressed her nose onto the top of his head. Eyes closed, she sent a silent prayer for StarClan to give him the strength he would need to carry himself through what would be a difficult time ahead. Losing a sibling, even if not related by blood, tore out pieces of ones heart that they might not have even been aware were present.
"They died fighting - that much was clear. But I will not let those beasts take anymore lives." Her words where a mere murmur to Spiderthroat, a sign of comfort, but as she spoke them she felt her blood boil in her veins. After making sure that Spiderthroat would be alright, she carefully untangled himself and, if he accepted, guided him over to where Lotuspaw's body lay. He deserved the spot closest to the fallen feline.
Out of the corner of her eye she spotted Bluepaw leaping towards her, and shock and confusion crossed her face. She quickly stepped out of the way incase her true trajectory was to say farewell to the apprentice. It was a rather odd sight to see, but grief showed itself in odd ways.
Lifting her head to those who had gathered around, any cat that looked at Cinderstar could see the fury that burned in her blue gaze. "Lotuspaw died fighting what appeared to be a rather vicious coyote. They have taken so many ThunderClan lives, but that ends tonight. The den we found Lotuspaw in appeared to be empty, but I won't feel as though you all are safe until our territory is scoured for any remaining signs. Come dawn, once Lotuspaw has been buried, I will be taking a patrol of warriors with me to ensure our forests are rid of these beasts." Her voice carried across the crowd, a certain firmness to it. If cats wished to step up to volunteer, she would not stop them from doing so.
For now, the anger diminished from her gaze and Cinderstar let her gaze fall to the young cat who's life had been snuffed out way before their time. "Your death will not be in vain, Lotuspaw. I promise you."
[ @Starfall @Cardboard box - I'm not sure why Bluepaw was leaping at Cinderstar, but I had her move of of the way ]
[ Any warriors who wish to volunteer for the coyote patrol are welcome to step up. I will be getting a private thread up shortly. This little expedition may or may not feed into a bigger future Clan-wide plot ]
Bluepaw landed In front of Cinderstar. “What do the travelling herbs tast like?” she mewed.
"As long as the mentor is a good and fun Mentor i'd be fine!" Vinekit replied
"I won't luckily have to wait that long. Just a moon. I was supposed to be apprenticed on this next meeting, but I'll have to wait. We're all probably going to become apprentices together!"
Rainhound couldn't believe it. Another death. And, in addition to such a horrible happening, wasn't Bushpaw really close to Lotuspaw? She let a sigh escape from her maw as she pressed through the crowd, wanting to comfort her brother, let him know she was here if he ever wanted to rant. But that never happened, because in that moment Cinderstar announced they'd be taking revenge on the coyotes. Rainhound pressed her nose into Lotuspaw's fur. "You will be missed," she murmured, then turned towards Cinderstar.
