Softheart hurried back over with a smile. "S-sorry, Thornpaw! We can get g-going now!" She huffed, waving her tail towards the entrance of camp but giving the two a moment to finish up any conversation

Thornpaw got up when Softheart came running back. She headed for the entrance, impatient and wanting to learn some battle moves."Is Littlepaw coming?" she asked her mentor.

Softheart's expression returned to her previous gentle smile as Thornpaw followed. "Not this t-time. His m-mentor's got him on his own tra-aining method." She swished her tail in farewell to her son and the tom replied with a wave of his paw, turning into the apprentice's den with a yawn.
"Next ti-ime we'll have you spa-ar with another apprentice. For now, you'll pra-actice on your own." She figured it was a sound enough plan, for now, they could properly see Thornpaw's skill level and teach her some basic skills.

She felt a wave of nostalgia from the area, she remembered her own time as the apprentice and was suddenly determined to make Thornpaw's apprenticeship better than hers had been.

"My pounce?" Thornpaw crouched and tensed ready to leap. She focused on a spot and pounced, landing with her claws unsheathed. She turned to Softheart."I can do a leap-and-hold" she told her mentor.

Jaypaw chomped down the mouse, angrily mumbling curse words under his breath. Why? WHY? Well,-- well you see... The apprentice was just struggling with the impending doom of death. Yknow, the usual. He-- he really had just gave up all hope on Quailkit. If he to be honest. The more he thought about it, the more his fear grabbed ahold of him and the more he felt.. hopeless.

Jaypaw's tail lashed, swallowing the bites he took. He stared down at the half-eaten mouse, sighing as if he was admitting defeat. Riverclan wouldn't keep an kit for that long for nothing. Besides the raid, they had done nothing. His shoulders slumped. "I don't know what to do.." Jaypaw mumbled. On one paw, he wanted to rush in and get his sister back. On another, he could get himself killed. Specially if he was wrong about his whole.. gut feeling thing.

Citrusflower loved her daughter so much. Her first born daughter had disappeared a few moons ago. She missed Midnightpaw so much it pained her sometimes. "When she was injured she acted like she didn't need me. I guess being injured taught her that she might need me sometimes.", she meowed. Ebonypaw was her biological daughter and she felt like they weren't as close.
