Oaksting hobbled over, grumbling angrily over nothing as he awkwardly-- and painfully, took a seat near the edge of the crowd.

"I hope!" She chirped, padding over to Puddlekit and the other kits."I wonder who my mentor will be.." She looked at all the cats. Wow, i can't believe I'm going to become an apprentice! She bounced on her paws, seeming to vibrate as she sat. @Puddletail

Taking care to skirt around the area where Oaksting was sitting - shooting only piercing gaze that direction - Aspenbreeze kept her head and tail high as she gathered around the Breezerock. Settling down in her usual spot, she turned her attention up to Twilightstar.

It took the queen a few heartbeats to get up from grooming herself because of her swelling stomach. Dijon eyes turned to her youngest daughter as she ran to her. "Yes but only if you are quiet." Turning to other kit Songbird gently nosed Tinykit out of the nursery. "Come on, we can sit at the edge of the crowd Pebblekit and Tinykit." Slowly padding out of the nursery. "Now remember to be quiet while Twilightstar is speaking. You can cheer when the rest of the clan does." Firmly telling her children, gracefully lifting her head the mottled queen looked around when the thought dawned on her. Some of her other kits are becoming apprentices. "Wait right here, don't move. Your sister Basilkit and brother Reedkit may become apprentice today so I want to talk with them for a moment." With that the queen slowly padded over to her firstborn. Heart twisted in slight sorrow that her son was growing up. "Reedkit, I would like a moment to speak with you." Calling out to her son. Then turned her head to Basilkit, her daughter. It was a shame that the two never quite got to hang out much as she wanted them to. "Basilkit, dear, please come over here for a moment before the meeting starts." Calling out to the molly. She waited for her two kits to come. The meeting hasn't even started and she could feel the bulge in her throat and the tears wanting to show.
"You two may become apprentice today and I wanted to let you know a few things. Life is only going to be more difficult from here. You will fall but I want you to get back up and stand with your heads held high. You two, Basilkit and Reedkit are my children. Nothing will ever change that, I love you both equally and very much. Please feel free to visit your mother in the nursery or come to me when you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to." It was difficult to talk without wanting to snatch her kits up and not let them grow up. Leaning over she nuzzled Reedkit first then went over to Basilkit. "I love you." A motherly smile blossomed on her black and white features and her eyes shined with love.

echopaw trotted over and took a seat, after all this time echopaw was still on edge about going to meetings sense when she was assigned a mentor...her whole clan got to learn of her love fore a warrior...She stood up and shook her fur out before sitting once a gain and staring at the ground, "but that was in the past...and it is over with." she mumbled to herself.
