Jack groaned heavily as he felt himself being lifted into the air. He searched with his blurry vision for the black pelt of Nightshade. Night. He whispered to his brother. Can you leave Nightshade and I alone for a second? He leaned his head back, looking up at his Bloodshear.

As Night stepped out, Jack looked at Nightshade. You saved my life. He rasped, gazing into her blue eyes. As he did, his vision cleared, and for a second, all the pain he felt went away. It made me realize how important you are to me... He began, leaning forward and trying to touch his nose to hers.

Jack scowled at the thought. I said I didn't know. He meowed, matter of factly. I didn't know anything right then. He admitted, her gaze warming him up enough for him to lift himself to his paws.

Nightshade led him up to his den, once they were in she gentle helped him settle into his nest. "Are you sure you're doing okay? Do I need to get Kate?" she asked with a tilt of her head. She wanted to make sure he was alright for real, she didn't want to leave and come back to find him dead.
