The Apprentice had simply been standing in the den for what felt like hours, standing and starting at the occupied nest that used to belong to him. That was his spot, by his corner. It made him itch, it made him itch all over. His paws felt heavy, and his shoulders sagged. He should have expected it, truly, he'd even seen it happen himself. Many apprentices went missing...it wasn't an uncommon occurrence, which was the sad thing. He just wasn't expecting to become one of the replaced.

Foampaw couldn't even tell how much time had passed, since he had just been standing there. He'd promised Wormbite he would go meet their new medicine cat, even that had changed. It wasn't Fawnpaw. Apparently she had died. It was someone he didn't truly know, and that made him even more nervous. So much was changing and the awful part was...it all felt almost exactly the same. He hated it, he hated the mixed feelings about... all of it!

He could have kept spiraling, and he probably would have as well, never truly good at pulling himself from his thoughts. Luckily, or unluckily, he was brought back to the present by a feline standing at the entrance of the Den. Jumping forwards slightly Foampaw sniffed and lightly shaking his head, shaking away any tears that collected in the corners of his eyes. "Sorry I'm really good at being a log in the path." a short and bad attempt at a joke. Maybe to cheer himself up.

Stonepaw

It had been a bit since he'd entered the apprentices' den. He didn't have a reason to go in there, he didn't have any friends within it. There was no reason to venture within when he could find everything he needed outside. Still, an occasional check in just to see who was inside was in order. He was getting used to the fact that he couldn't keep calling everyone by nicknames. He actually had to know their real names and that was difficult if he wasn't caught up on the missing and returned.

It had taken him a moment to realize what it meant to go 'missing.' It meant you were gone, left your family, and didn't return. Dead or alive, they were missing. Antkit was missing, maybe Dad too. Sometimes they came back, but sometimes they didn't. It was just him and Bri now, and he didn't quite know if she was mad at him or not. Regardless, she had Silversnow and Lilycreek, just in case she needed to chat with someone. He had decided he did like the disappearances and returns. Too many new names, not enough old faces.

"Who are you?." Normally good humor was pushed aside by surprise. He hadn't expected to see someone new. That had been the point of the trip to the apprentices den, but still, he honestly hadn't expected to see someone new. Still, this was his skill, making friends, so he'd do his join, accomplish his goal. Even if the start hadn't been so great. "Sorry 'bout that. I'm Stonepaw by the way!"

He wouldn't lie, it stung a little, being a stranger to a pawful of those in your home. Granted he was gone for moons, and even before than, Foampaw tended to keep to himself. Big crowds made him anxious. Big ears twitched as he looked over his shoulder, shooting a soft smile towards the other.

He stood there for a moment, collecting himself, before finally turning to face the other. "Hello. I'm Foampaw. It's nice to meet you." he said, words laced with droplets of honey. "I uh, I'm not exactly new but, well." a long pause in the air as the other took a moment to contemplate how to continue. Frog stuck in his throat, unable to state his own failures aloud. It wasn't Stonepaw's fault he went missing, it was his own foolishness.

He couldn't think of anything to say, mind only focusing on the taken nest, a nest that used to be his. It was never anything special, maybe filled with a shell or two, but it was his. Now it was all different, and not his. Not anymore anyways. Shuffling his paws, the Apprentice was getting...well anxious. Bi colored eyes on the floor. "I, er uh, I. I need to find a new nest." he muttered. Hopefully that wasn't too much to ask of Stonepaw? They seemed kind, at least.

Kitekit entered the den rushing to complete the patrol she had been assigned. She had always been clumsy on her feet though and tumbled into one of the old nests. Grumbling she turned to her teammates, "come on guys we have to hurry up!"

Sunsetkit followed behind Kitekit, entering the apprentice’s den “Alright! I’ll get to cleaning the nests!” they said; before going to one of the nests and trying to clean it. There was a pebble in it and also a few other things. The nest was a bit dirty

Puddlekit toddled in with some fresh moss, and a couple feathers. "I found all this for the nests!" he mewed triumphantly, dropping the supplies down. "And we gotta hurry!"
The little grey kitten began tugging rough pieces of moss from the nest infront of him, and twigs and stones as well.
