Hackles rising, Beachkit eyed the icicle with suspicion, then shifted their gaze to Wolfpaw, and finally back to the traitorous icicle. It attacked his friend! Probably sent by that RIVERCLAN to hurt them and make Wolfpaw talk all weird.

They would not stand for this! They wriggled their way out of the snuggles (and immediately regretted the sudden chill awaiting them) to burst forward and headbutt the stupid icicle. It gave way, and Beachkit peered to Wolfpaw in search of his approval with the icicle dead in the snow. "I killed it! The RiverClan trap!"

Plumpaw left the apprentices’ den early that morning, a gentle flurry of snow greeting him as he set paw out into the clearing.

He stuck out his tongue, attempting to catch some of the snowflakes before they reached the ground. After a moment of standing there, still as a log, a snowflake finally landed on his tongue and melted instantly. Plumpaw licked at his nose, an unfortunate habit to have in such cold weather, and went to wipe away the chill it brought with his paw.

A shiver creeped through him. Leaf-bare was most definitely his least favorite season, though he found he didn’t hate it entirely. Sure, it was cold and windy most days; gloomy too, as the sun was mostly hidden behind clouds, white as the snow that fell from them. But oh, the snow! Plumpaw had admired its beauty at first but now he began to realize just how much fun it offered him. Snowball fights, snowcats, snow… anything really. The possibilities were endless and Plumpaw was excited to try them all.

Starting with his mentor, Sharpclaw. He still needed to get back at that big meanie for missing out on his ceremony. And what better way than with a nice cold snow-bath!

He nodded, thinking about that for a moment. "I miss it," he shrugged, "it was carefree, it still is in some way!" he said the last part quickly, "but... it just... feels different," he said, he wasn't good at explaining things. He didn't say much more about it. But it was evident that he missed it, but doesn't mind being a warrior.

He nodded slowly, before taking another bite of hs rabbit. "Hm, I guess it is still carefree, We get to go out on our own..And we can just- Just have fun! We don't gotta deal with training, or not being able to leave the nursery. We just, Do whatever- most the time," @~MothDust~

Wolfpaw let out a short back of laughter when Beachkit killed the icicle, and he reached to nudge the pudgebaby gently. "'preciate you." Didn't know when his tongue would feel right, so was keepin' words a bit shorter.

He invited Beachkit to stay within the warm pocket while he shuffled through some of the snow. He had spied a feather earlier but some of the freshly fallen snow covered it.. it took him a moment, but he found it: a crow feather. Nothin' fancy, but he figured Beachkit would like it.

He retrieved it and drew back from the majority of the snow. It was cold! Once they were in a slightly warmer spot, he offered the feather to Beachkit with a crane of his neck. "fer you?"

Featherpaw wiggled out of the snow pile with a giggle, snow clinging to her thick white fur.
"I'll avenge you, Mudhound!" she mewed, pupils growing huge and round. She pulled from the remnants of their snow-moss monstrosity and started pelting them at Drizzlenight as fast as she could grab them.

Beachkit -

Beachkit gave it several sequential baps to ensure it had been fully killed for its crimes against Wolfpaw. And they still kind of wanted to lick it to see if it'd grab them, but he was prepared! If it attacked him, they'd bite it! CHOMP!

Distracted by the sudden offering, they perked up. "Eeee! Feather!" Beachkit did indeed like it and collected the gift with a burst of joy and happy mrrow. "What kind of bird dropped it?" Surely, Wolfpaw in all his apprentice knowledge would know.

It was the best gift they'd ever gotten! Regardless of which bird was its source.

With a parting growl, they abandoned the offending icicle (and kept the gifted feather close) to quickly scuttle back into the pocket of warmth awaiting, unable to justify staying in the bitter air any longer. It was so HARD to be outside during leafbare, and their legs were starting to sting from numbness. They'd happily take all of Wolfpaw's warmth. How did warriors go out daily in this?!

"Is it better outside camp? How do you train with all this COLD?" Beachkit half-asked, half-complained.

"Crow, think." Wolfpaw looked at the feather with a mild thoughtfulness. He swallowed, the majority of the taste of blood subsiding. It still felt weird to talk, but he was pushing through the worst of it. His mouth ached. "... they in the trees, for most of the cold. Don't leave like other birds unless it gets real bad."

Beachkit cozied in. Wolfpaw purred as he return-stole some of Beachkit's warmth. Win-win, in his eyes. "much colder. Don't got shelter like you do in camp, 'n you gotta keep movin' to stay warm. That's why training ain't so bad, but if you don't gotta task to focus on you'll freeze up."

Beachkit -

Maybe ThunderClan should be in the trees if they were so much warmer than being on the ground. Beachkit didn't see how that'd work considering the wind was just as biting, but the birds were somehow making it work. And this one was even down a feather. Eyeing the jet black feather, they murmured, "Do you think the crow is cold now?" They kinda felt badly about the possibility but... also, planned on stowing this away in their nest guilt-free. Wasn't like they could return it now.

Training in this weather sounded nightmareish. "How do you battle with legs that you can't feel?" they wondered aloud, peering down at their limbs that didn't seem like theirs anymore. Tingly, numb, kind of stinging every now and then. At least there was a spot of warmth being squished against Wolfpaw, and they nestled in closer--basically jamming their face into his bellyfluff--only to feel a tickle against their nose.

A kitten-sneeze erupted from them muffled by Wolfpaw's coat, but then another as they pulled away.

In actuality, Wolfpaw wasn't sure. But birds were food, so he didn't think fretting over how cold they were made much sense. But, he also wanted to be considerate of Beachkit... "They're fine, the feathers fall when they get too warm." Close enough to the truth, right?

Beach sneezed. Wolfpaw nudged the top of his head gently, doin' his best to engulf the baby in more warmth. "Don't notice it when you workin. You gettin sick?" It was genuine concern. If this was more than just a tickle, he'd whisk him into a den.
