"One kit hides the pinecone, and the others try to find it. Whoever finds it hides it next," Shiverkit explained. "I was thinking we could play in the nursery, but here works too."

Silentpaw's training was over for the day, so she could take a piece of food. She picked out a mouse from the fresh-kill pile and started doing her taking-off-the-skin thing. As she ate, she started thinking about her friends. What had happened to Quailpaw and Snowpaw? They had gone missing. @Snook

Quailpaw padded back into camp, exhausted and mentally drained. His fur was still matted and paws sore, but just walking through the familiar pine-scented clearing energized him more than he'd been in days. The tension that had weighed on him was gone now. But now that he was... home... who was there to-

"Silentkit?" He blurted, noticing the black she-cat by the fresh-kill pile for the first time. She was so much bigger than he'd remembered- definitely not the shy little kit he had played with so many moons ago. Maybe she's Silentpaw now, he realized with a flush and took a tentative step towards her. "Er... how are you? I mean it's been a while, and- I mean, I- guh..." He trailed off, ending the stuttering mess. Still not good at this interaction thing, are you? Crap. Well, that certainly went well.

She tilted her head slightly, a mixture of curiosity and confusion. So they spoke to him and didn't at the same time? What sorts of weird things? The more she learned the more she wanted to know. The statement that really caught her attention was that she was new. What did he mean, she'd been here for a good amount of time now hadn't she? At least it felt like forever at this point, though in reality it hadn't even been two moons since she came.

Crowkit was about to let all her questions run free but she paused, leaning away slightly as the tom rose to his feet and began to circle her. The curiosity only grew, sparkling within her bright blue eyes as they made eye contact.

She almost missed what Bouncepaw had said, too busy wondering why he seemed to be studying her. A wave of realization washed over her face and it took serious restraint to not jump to her paws immediately, not wanting to seem like an over excited kit, which honestly, she was.

"Focus on my heartbeat..." she repeated, almost to herself as she ran her tongue over her chest fur to hide her excitement. She would get to see Starclan! Well, maybe, but she was certain she would. Returning to the apprentice's gaze with determination, she nodded, "I'm gonna talk to Starclan and then I'm gonna tell you all about it!
