Mumblepaw couldn’t even muster the words to say other than a simple reply. “Okay…thank you for telling me,” Green eyes losing focus as they turned to side. Removing Larkwing from his vision as fang tried to wave her away. This wasn’t average news, but they just couldn’t. The emotions he was supposed to feel didn’t come, they weren’t here, not yet at least. Going back to laying down in the nest. Mumblepaw gave the Second-In-Command a blank look at they just stared into the space around her.

The ragdoll entered the den, fur fluffed up against the cold. Her eyes were brighter than they had been in days, and she searched the den for one of her two remaining family members. Her beloved sister, Blueberrypaw. The molly found the familiar fur, and she let out a small trill of delight and stepped carefully over a sleeping apprentice- Briarpaw, and if Blueberrypaw was willing, would tackle her little sister into a hug. "Blue!" She gasped out, feeling her eyes fill with tears of joy and relief. A smile graced her features after weeks of a hollow, broken expression, instead her face was brighter, and it looked younger, more refreshed. "Blue guess what?" If allowed, she would press her nose into her sister's fur, letting out a shaky breath, paws trembling with gleeful disbelief.

BlueberryPaw tidied her nest. She had a focused, almost dull, look on her face as she did. She had hoped Birdie was doing ok. Her poor sister had been stuck in a slump for a long time. The russian blue cats ears pricked up at someone calling her name. 'Hey! That was-' She started to think but was suddenly tackled into a happy hug from her big sister. "Birdie!" Blue said lighthearted and happily. Her sister's eyes were shining with happiness and that sight alone made Blueberry want to cry. "What?" BlueberryPaw asked excitedly.
Her sister accepted the hug happily, and Birdpaw felt her chest swell with joy, almost giddy with excitement. At 30 moons old, this was a long time coming. "I just passed my assessment a few minutes ago." Larkwing's compliment and confirmation rung in her ears and she was trembling with joy and anticipation. "I'm finally going to be a warrior!" Hopefully Blueberrypaw would match her excitement. She didn't know what she would do if Blue was unhappy about it. Surely not, though. Right?

Baykit walked into the den and poked his nose around, seeing which nests were being used and which weren't. In his mouth he carried a small, sparkly shell he'd found. He was gonna be an apprentice pretty soon, he already knew that! He may not have been super duper old like some apprentices, but he was ready to learn! After settling on an empty nest near the middle of the den -- a rarity, as most of the empty ones were on the outskirts of the den -- he dropped his shell in and walked out, little tail held high.
