Birchflower yawned, it had been peaceful enough for a nice app, a rarity that didn't happen often with so many cats in the clan these days. Needless to say, having her sleep interrupted by an apprentice was not on her bucket list. At the disturbance of Freezepaw, the white tabby's eyes rolled with some sarcasm.
"Did no one ever teach you how to keep quiet? That volume would make prey run before you even had the chance to see them." A raspy chuckle came from her throat. "I"m only joking. It's a real shame that they still make apprentices do this work, most of us are fairly capable of doing it ourselves. The free help is nice though." Another pathetic excuse for a laugh escaped Birchflower's maw as she stretched and stood up, her lanky form being quite unusual compared to the general look of a Shadowclan cat these days. "Not gonna force you to do this though, I can make my own nest. How about you have a seat and we just talk instead? It gets awfully boring around here."

Freezepaw scrunched up her nose as she listened to Birchflower, tail-tip twitching slightly. "I never thought it was necessary either. Probably just a way to make sure apprentices listen. Though I don't understand why those who weren't being bad in the first place have to do it." Freezepaw continued clawing at the dry brittle moss, fully intent on getting this job done so she could get out of there as soon as possible. "Well yes, make your own nest that's fine by me. But I've still got to do these other nests." Freezepaw fell silent again, not much in the mood to talk to an old elder who was going to reminisce about the "good old days." Though, with a sigh Freezepaw turned back to Birchflower. "I'll be doing my work but feel free to ramble on if you want. My um.... Scorchpaw did that a lot as kits and... well... I suppose a talk might be nice? I don't know." Freezepaw narrowed her eyes as she said this, before turning back around with a huff, her ears flattening against her head. An elder didn't need to know about her friendship problems.

Beastspark shifted his attention over to the cats as they came along. He honestly had no idea what was going with them and was quite confused. "Your patrol, how did it go?" He questioned with a sharp lash of his tail.

His ears fall back at the loud call of his name. He turns his head over to Cloudberry as he spotted her stomping around the clear. She did not look happy. Beastspark pads over to her calmly as she begins explaining what had her in such a fit. "They left you to patrol alone?!" There was a touch of vexation in his growl as he understood why Cloudberry was so upset now. "I'll make sure Icestar hears of it." He sighed, "Did you have troubles beside incompete members?"
