He lifted his head and turned to see Fawnkit, a ginger-brown shecat, sitting beside him. There was mere curiosity in her copper-hued eyes, but no alarm or anything like that. “Ravenclaw… was taken from us… by a Thunderclan warrior.” Snowleap meowed, his tone soft and gentle, trying to find the right words to describe such an occurrence. “He was my friend.” He said that simply, looking back at the body of the tomcat, his deep blue eyes showing sadness, but somehow, the tall deputy wouldn’t allow himself to cry. Goddamnit. What would happen now? What would Skystar do about this? Would they go to war over this? Snowleap didn’t know, but hoped that Ravenclaw’s death -- murder -- would not be pushed aside. This was terrible and it disgusted them to the core. "I'm sorry that you have to see such an awful sight, little one."

Bluepaw spotted Snowleap and a few others around a body. He ran to his mentor. "Snowleap! What's wrong!? Wait..." He stared at the body. "Um... Snowleap? This is a RiverClan warrior, right? Is this Ravenclaw?"

It’s Ravenclaw.” He meowed quietly to the white-furred tomcat, “He was killed by a Thunderclan warrior who came onto our territory.” Shaking their head, Snowleap gave a sigh and eased himself into a laid down position. “Come here and lay beside me, say goodbye to your clanmate and wish him well on his way to Starclan.” The newly-named deputy pressed his nose into Ravenclaw’s fur again, closing his eyes as he awaited Bluepaw to do the same.

Bluepaw gasped at his mentor's reply to his question. "Who would do such a thing!?" He growled, unsheathing his claws. Snowleap asked Bluepaw to lay with him. The white furred apprentice laid next to the RiverClan deputy and pressed his nose to his fallen Clanmate's fur, eyes closed, tears forming in his eyes.

cinderpaw walks into the clearing seeing ravenclaw dead" ravenclaw!" she says running towards her mentor, her ears goes back and tears begins to fall, she begins to cry as she sat there in front of her mentor, she lowers her head crying that she could have done more to show ravenclaw that she was a good apprentice

Death. It was not something the kit was too familiar with only being about a couple moons old. But grief and sadness and sorrow were emotions that she recognized easily. Hearing Snowleap speak, Fawnkit could detect them in the way he formed his words and without hesitation she leaned against his leg as if to offer some sort of comfort. "I'm really sorry you lost your friend," she murmured, casting her gaze downwards to the unmoving flank of Ravenclaw. She couldn't imagine losing any of her friends, and how badly it would hurt if she did.

Ears twitched as she detected more paws coming towards them and her copper eyes fell upon Bluepaw. He was an apprentice she recalled and she nodded towards him, unsure if he had seen her (which would be perfectly fine, considering there was a dead Clanmate in front of them).

Her head turned to see both of the cats press their noses into Ravenclaw's fur. Was that tradition? He was making his journey to StarClan, so maybe this was a way to let him know that his memory would not be forgotten even as his spirit departed this world. So following the lead of the RiverClan deputy Fawnkit scooted closer towards Ravenclaw and touched her tiny nose briefly to his fur.

It was cold, and smelled strongly of blood. There was still no movement and Fawnkit felt grief envelope her heart. He truly was on his way to StarClan. Maybe she could speak to Snakeheart later and ask him to pass a message onto him the next time he spoke with the stars; that Ravenclaw was loved and cherished and would always be remembered.

Another apprentice came then and Fawnkit pulled back to look at Cinderpaw. All around her the air was thick with anguish as she felt her whiskers quiver. Stars, she wished to help her Clanmates, but what could she do? She was only a kit... "...I'm sure that his journey to the stars is made better by all of you..." Her voice was soft, but hopefully spoken with enough volume to be detected by the cats around her. Being the closest to Snowleap, Fawnkit once again leaned against his flank.

Winterstorm heard the crying of Cinderpaw and ran over. "I'm sorry you lost Ravenclaw, Cinderpaw. Maybe Darkscar can train you from now on." she said, putting her head on Cinder's neck. @tulle @dark seeker

"Ravenclaw's watching from the stars. He'll be proud... as all RiverClan spirits are watching us." Winterstorm said. She's sad as well, but she has to stay strong for her daughter. @dark seeker

"Ravenclaw... was mine and Darkscar's older brother. Cinder... he was your uncle." Winterstorm said. She had just lost her beloved brother, even if she rarely talked to him since she became pregnant. @dark seeker

(Oh yeah, SoldierRise hasn't replied yet but I have a feeling she's gonna say yes)
