{ Stream'Paw sighed, turning his head away and pinning down his ears.
She reluctantly replied; She was a RiverClanner, she should at least know how to fish..!

"Um, well, I'm sort of struggling with fish-hunting.."
They murmured, lashing their tail.

Stream'Paw looked back at Bird'Paw, shuffling his paws and standing back up. She padded back towards that pond, signalling by flicking his tail at the other apprentice to follow her. They crouched at the side of the pond, looking between Bird'Paw and the pond.

He quickly reached his paw forward, scooping up a fish that then fell out of his paw. "See?" }

Soft blue eyes drifted to the water, and she bent down, swiping a paw at the water downstream after Streampaw's fish flip flopped back into the water. Her paw hit the water, and like rain coming from the ground, water sprayed upwards, adorning her fur with brief, shiny water droplets. Giggling a bit, she was losing focus. Oops.

Shaking her fur out, she skipped back over to Streampaw. "You have to hold onto it, silly nilly. If you don't grab onto it it'll get away." She hoped Streampaw wasn't expecting a detailed, informed, helpful lesson on fishing. She wasn't too knowledgeable.

{ Stream’Paw }

{ Stream’Paw shook his fur from the small particles of water that had landed on his silver tabby-and-black splotched fur. Watching Bird’Paw carefully, she attempted to skew a fish with his claws, but failed once more after only giving the fish a small scratch.

“Darn it..!”
They said, sighing and sitting back with their tail wrapped around their paws.
Looking at Bird’Paw, he quickly gazed over her. How could she be better at fishing then him? Stream’Paw was pretty certain they were older, but they started their apprenticeship a little late… Hm..

“W-well, my mentor - Fawn’Bounce - said she’d train me how to swim before I learn to fish, so..”
She shrugged, smiling wearily at Bird’Paw.
“I guess I’ll just have to be patient.. Want to hunt with me, though?”
Stream’Paw offered. One thing he was good at was hunting mice. }

➵ [ brindlefeather | she/they/(it) ]

after several moments of waiting and not seeing any sign of sharkpaw, brindlefeather gave a small flick of it's tail as a gesture for lynxfall to follow it before padding out of camp. walking through the marshy territory and arriving at cattail pond, the large torbie hummed in discomfort at the feeling of mud coating its paws and sticking to its fur. "um..hopefully sharkpaw eventually shows up, but for now we can just focus on..hunting.." the warrior said, casting a glance at lynxfall before almost robotically going towards the pond, crouching down at the edge of the body of water.

it's so..muddy..yuck, it thought with a small frown. i hope lynxfall doesn't decide to fish too..that would be awkward. i think i already screwed up my chance of making a first good impression anyways, but still. amber eyes trained on the water, a small ripple of water followed by a shadow made brindlefeather quickly dip it's paws into the water and fling out .. a trout!

❥ Giving a quick nod, Lynxfall got up and was ready to hunt. “I’m gonna try to catch some frogs. ShadowClan had em too, so it shouldn’t be that hard to catch!” He said excitedly. At least he knew how to catch one thing there, he had yet to learn how to fish. Bounding towards the pond, he prepared himself in a crouch.

‘Man, it sure is muddy out here. It doesn’t feel that great… but also it’s not bad?’ He thought as mud started to get on his belly. It was oddly refreshing? But he shook his head at the thought and returned his focus on the task at hand. Wandering around, he spotted a small green creature hopping around. ‘Gotcha, little froggy. Can’t hop away from me.’ They thought with a triumphant smirk. Sneaking up on the little creature, he unsheathed his claws and pounced. Successfully catching the frog, he wagged his tail. That’s a nostalgic taste. Burying the frog to retrieve later, he sat out to hunt another one to bring back for his Clan.

upon sharkpaws arrival, brindlefeather stood up and turned to look at the apprentice. oh..well, if sharkpaw had been sleeping, it guessed it couldn't be mad. "alright, uh..do you know how to hunt? you can try to catch some voles or frogs..or..come fish with me, i guess." it offered before crouching down once again and closely watching the water. seeing a tail fin poke out of water for less than a second, followed by a shadow, brindlefeather quickly swooped its paws into the water to snatch the fish. letting it flop and die beside the trout, it glanced over to see that it was a salmon. two fish! maybe it could catch one more.

Minteye

A light cream, almost white pelted cat with orange splotches paced around the pond, looking rather annoyed. His claws were sheathed, but his fur stood on end, and within seconds, he let out a hiss- not directed towards someone, but rather, towards the pond itself.
"Good for nothing, mouse-brained, annoying pond! How could measly little prey escape my paws... my paws!" He huffed, sitting at the edge of the pond, but still not letting his shadow be cast on the water.
"It's not fair! Airhead. That's what I am, an airhead, for letting that perch get away. I can already hear the others laughing at me," he growled to himself, almost as if talking to another cat; but nobody else was there with him.
His mint-coloured eyes scanned the area, looking for any other cat there. He needed to clear his mind. Maybe somebody he could argue with; or maybe someone could calm him down. He just needed a distraction. Any kind of distraction he could get his paws on; otherwise he knew his fit of rage would scare off any remaining prey.

❥ Lynxfall padded around until he found another group of frogs. ‘Nice!’ he thought to himself. Sneaking up on them, he got in a crouched stance and pounced… only to land directly in the mud with a splat sound. “Ohh boy… nice and muddy I guess… cool.” Getting up, they regained their composure and followed the group of frogs that have started to hop away.

Waiting for them to calm down, he crept on them once again until… he caught another one! ‘Sweet!’ he thought as he buried this one as well to return for later. Good thing RiverClan had frogs, it made things easier for him so he didn’t look like a fool trying to fish. Wandering back around to where a few more frogs lay, he pounced on another one and bit down to make sure it wouldn’t squirm out of his grasp. Thing are hard to catch when it’s wet and muddy. ‘Okay, that’s three frogs. Hope they like the taste of frog. Twolegs always said it ‘tastes like chicken’, but I think they might’ve been lying.’ they thought with a giggle. Burying this one as well, he sat out to collect the remaining frogs to bring home.

❥ Hunting down the remaining frogs in the group, Lynxfall entered a crouch and pounced on one of them ‘That’s one more!’ they thought triumphantly. Taking a moment to sniff in the air, they let out a content sigh as they buried this frog and seemed out the remaining two.

Finding the others, he once again tried to pounce on one only to fall in the mud… again. ‘Oh… yup, very nice…’ they thought with a small groan. At first they didn’t think the mud felt to bad, but slapping down on it and having it all over your underbelly wasn’t great. Lynxfall quickly caught one frog, and then the last remaining one and buried the two to bring back after the patrol was over. For now, he went to seek out his other teammates to hopefully get some form of early training in fishing in.
