What was it about the multi-colored she cat that was so intriguing? Martenthorn had always loved mysteries-- but she was a mystery wrapped up in a hundred other layers of hurt and defensiveness. She had defended herself against cats for so long that he had the feeling it would be a while before she would fully trust him not to hurt her. Or did she already? He couldn't be sure.
And it wasn't that he hadn't wanted to share with her. He had. But something had happened to change his mind. Martenthorn could hear a rustling in the bushes, a constant, annoying sound. His hues narrowed and he pounced, claws unsheathed, and instantly killed a small mouse. It always made him feel bad, killing the smaller animals who had no way of defending themselves...but it was for the Clan. They needed to take these things back to the Clan first, then they could eat. Would Ryver ever return? He doubted it. He sincerely hoped not, at least. And then, in a flash of light-- well, not exactly a flash of light, but he caught sight of a familiar pelt through the trees and almost dropped the mouse.
Was that who he thought it was? He glanced back to where Featherspeckle was sitting, smiling at him encouragingly and a warm feeling spread through him. But still...he couldn't just ignore the fact that there was this cat flitting through the trees. What if they weren't ThunderClan? What were they doing here? Martenthorn's hues narrowed and he padded back protectively towards the she cat, dropping the mouse. "I'll...be right back." He mewed, blurring the words more then he meant to before he darted into the trees after the figure. He could see the pelt always bobbing and weaving ahead of him, though it was clean and neat as it always had been. What are you doing out here? Playin'. Wanna play? Of course! Fast foward to another time, when they had been much older. What are you doing out here? Leaving. What? You heard me, Martenthorn. I'm leaving. And that had been a horrible day. Fast foward again, to the third time the conversation had started that way. What are you doing out here? Please, Martenthorn...give me a chance. And he hadn't.
If this was who he thought it was, he knew that he would have to get them out of here as fast as possible. He didn't want them messing up his life again. Martenthorn sprang, pinning the figure to the ground and staring into her own forever-soft, light green hues. "R-Ry-Ryver?" He stammered. Her eyes had held terror, and now held a surprised warmth that could never be replaced...that he had been thinking of, whether conciously or unconciously, for quite a long time now. That warmth had haunted his dreams...that face had haunted his dreams. "Hello, Martenthorn."
|
Featherspeckle waited patiently for Martenthorn to return. She wondered how come he was in such a rush, but she grabbed his kill and put it with hers until they were ready to take it back to the kill pile. As she waited for him, her tail began thumping in anticipation, out of nervousness. He wondered if he got tired of her, and wanted to leave her. She wondered if she lost him as friend.
Why did she always get tense whenever something happened? He was in a hurry to leave, and she pondered on to why he left in such a hurry. She didn’t want to leave her kills behind. She also didn’t want to pry into his business. His scent lingered in the air, and she found herself wanting to follow it.
The multi-colored she-cat stood up, her tail thrashing. She was mellowed. She was calm. At least that’s what she wanted to believe, but even she knew that she was agitated. And, she didn’t know why! Clearly, it had to be Martenthorn.
Had something happened to him?
Fear crawled into her skin, eating at her as if she had fleas. This made her quietly pad away, leaving behind their kills to seek out the brown abyssinian. She ran further, detecting his scent clearly. Following him just to be sure that he was okay.
And, alive.
She picked her speed up, her ears perked for any sound...but then they flattened, and she stopped in her pawsteps. She poked her head from a nearby bush, seeing Martenthorn and...an unknown she-cat.
The she-cat didn’t look as if she belonged in thunderclan. Featherspeckle tilted her head. She wondered who the rogue was. As she heard the two exchange words. Her mind went into a fit. Laughing at her, reminding her of how pathetic she was.
Told you, darling? But you never listen to me…
He’s different.
First love always wins. Give up. Give in.
Featherspeckle sadly nodded, succumbing to her mind. ‘’Maybe you’re right.’’ She muttered aloud. For what reason? Cats around her might think she was delusional for even talking to herself.
The ledge is waiting for you tonight…
Her mind sang that one line over and over. It made her lash her tail as she jumped away from the bush, and away from the two lost lovebirds that seem to have found each other...just in the right time!
‘’I’m not jumping.’’ She says, proudly. As if she was confidently, and she padded around the territory, hoping to get away from others as much as possible. ‘’I’ll continue to live my life. I’ll love on others. And, you will do nothing to stop me!’’ She hissed.
The guilt not eating you up?
I wished I could change what had happened...BUT I CANNOT. Viola is gone. So is her kits.
What about Moose?
What about him?
Why must she be annoyed now? She wished to lash out at somebody or at least scrape her nails against a tree in an obnoxious manner. She had to reframe herself. She was not that young naive cat any longer. She was different. She was older. She was tougher.
‘’So, Ryver decided to come back.’’ She sat down, after finding a shaded tree, and she allowed her claws to scrape at the dirt to satiate her anger. But it didn’t. ‘’What if he leaves with her?’’ She croaked. A dangerous hue in her eyes sparked to life...something she haven’t felt in a while. ‘’Maybe I can have her slip off a cliff…’’She dug her claws deeper into the earth, her inner self taking over.
There was a light voice. A voice that was her genuine self. She closed her eyes. Breathed deeply, before opening them, and collapsing in a heap to the earth floor. ‘’I hate that I let my mind control my anger. I hate myself.’’ She sighed deeply. One thing she did want was for Martenthorn to be happy. And, she knew that he would express exuberant behavior at seeing his old--first love.

While he hadn't had to fight any Windclan cats himself,he figured they would fight in numbers and speed rather then strength and stealth like Thunderclan had.

The tabby nodded as he spoke, listening intently to what he said and then waiting before he finished. "Some do. Some prefer to dart in, and hit you before you know what's happening. It's through a bunch of small cuts that they force you back, or you bleed to death. WindClan cats are more dangerous then they look-- you have to be on guard while fighting them." Falconclaw explained. He didn't know whether the apprentice had fought a WindClan cat or not, so he decided to go ahead with weak spots and fighting style and all of that stuff, just in case Bouncepaw either didn't know or had forgotten.
"The best way to defeat them is by pinning them down. While they're darting around like the rabbits they chase, it's harder to get a hit in. But once you have them pinned down, they're pretty much helpless; they can't throw us off. Don't try and do it with a larger warrior-- they just might be able to. Find a cat smaller then yourself." He glanced at Bouncepaw to make sure he was understanding all of this-- of course he would be, the apprentice was quite intelligent and Falconclaw was very proud of him. "Alright, so I'm a WindClan warrior. Come at me." He mewed, bracing himself. Going on the defensive normally meant darting and running, neither of which were Falconclaw's strong points, but he figured he could do it this time. Just so that the younger tom would get a try.

Well, of course Martenthorn was stunned to see Ryver. And, although he hadn't thought he would be, he was...happy. Excited. Now he could apologize, settle things with her, and everything would be absolutely fine. He wasn't sure what the she cat was thinking, And his mind turned back to Featherspeckle; what about her? Surely she wouldn't be too happy about Ryver returning, not since he was here. He glanced down at the she cat beneath him, who was looking at him pleadingly. What was going on with Ryver, anyways?
"It's...good to see you." He mewed somewhat hesitantly, glancing back towards where he knew Featherspeckle to be. The words sounded halting and seemed to catch in his throat, making a lump there that was almost impossible for him to swallow. Ryver had broken him. His heart, mind, and soul. And yet she looked so helpless, so worried, that he wasn't quite sure what to do. He really didn't know.
"Is that all you have to say, Marty?" The patterned she cat beneath him joked weakly. Martenthorn was aware of her ribs jutting through her pelt. She was thin...and scared looking. She had been terrified that he would kill her, and now she was trying to make things lighter between them. But she couldn't. And he knew that she couldn't. He knew Ryver inside out, and she knew that she was trying to do...something, but he wasn't quite sure what. What did she want from him now? To turn his life inside out again? To beg for his help again? And Martenthorn got the feeling that she wasn't the greatest cat in the world. She just wasn't. She never had been...if only he knew what she wanted.
"Where's your lover? Your kits? Your family?" He challenged, stepping off of the she cat. He was painfully aware of how soft her pelt was, although it looked sick and unhealthy. She looked sick and unhealthy. What had happened? What had happened to the sweet, friendly feline that he had met all those moons ago? Had she just disappeared, along with her love for him? He glanced up, painfully aware that Featherspeckle wasn't around. And this felt wrong. Where was the she cat? He wanted her to be here, to get rid of Ryver with him. But she wasn't.
"My kits died, Martenthorn. And my lover-- well-- you know how that turned out." She sighed, looking down at her paws and then up at the tom, her hues gleaming with a painful light. "I'm begging you, you have to help me. Please. I need food." She mewed. Martenthorn glanced back towards where Featherspeckle was and sighed, before padding away, leaving the multi-colored she cat behind him. He knew he needed to help her, it was the right thing to do. But he didn't really want to. It would be horrible.
He headed over towards Featherspeckle, a pained look in his hues as he did so. He continued to feel horrible as he picked up the small rodent hehad killed earlier. "I...come with me, Featherspeckle. Please." He mewed, looking her directly in the eyes. He didn't want something to happen. She needed to know. She needed to know what was going on, and she deserved to know. He wasn't the cat to deserve anything better then this, and yet he was going to get it. He wasn't sure why. But he knew he was going to get rid of Ryver.

Featherspeckle felt a wave of relief come into her as she saw Martenthorn approached. She quickly got up, wondering what she wanted to do with him. Maybe pin him down, maybe slap him, maybe nuzzle him? She didn’t know, but all she did was nod her head as the words left his mouth.
She wanted to know why he wanted her to come with him. She grabbed the kill she had caught and trotted towards him, wondering what was going on. She didn’t like surprises very much. Having a fear of something paranormal might happen.
Featherspeckle also didn’t want to see this...she-cat he was with earlier. She knew very well who it was, and it bothered her to her very core. Yet, she had no reason to be bothered. Martenthorn wasn’t hers to be jealous of. Clearly, he was a friend. She could protect him all she wanted, but he wasn’t...she shook her head from the thoughts.
All the multi-colored cat did was follow his trail...which was leading her back to where she ran from the first place. Even from the distance, she could make out a skinny lump of fur. Apart of her felt bad, while the inner self wanted her to combust, and yell, and attack, and claw at the skinny hag, but she didn’t. Featherspeckle tried to smile as best as she could as she held onto her kill.
Featherspeckle had to remind herself and her thoughts that she didn’t know Ryver well. Every cat was battling a battle, and every cat needs love. Ryver wasn’t an enemy. Nor, a threat. Featherspeckle thought sadly at how she was behaving herself. Upon looking at the female in the distance again, her heart poured out, and she didn’t feel worthy enough to even be Martenthorn’s friend.
But, she stayed. And, she would obey any command that he asked her to do.

Roarclaw smiled at her, admiring her eyes for a brief second before he replied. "Nothing really. We just got back, Blackstorm's still out there somewhere...I've been keeping a lookout around the territory but so far I havent scented anything." He sighed, looking at the sky. "But if I know my brother, and I do the two of us were closer than anything, he's planning something."

(Oooh XDD)
Roarclaw nodded, looking up at the sky as well. A soft sigh escaped him as he shut his eyes. "I went soft on him. Told him to leave, to not come back, and let him run." He choked out a dry laugh. "I was going to kill him...But....I couldnt..." He looked away, sighing. "I know what he's done but I cant kill my own brother."

{is oooh a yes or shut up mom yer stupid xD}
Coonmask stared at the sky, her eyes flickering around it, before rolling onto her paws. "What if Black comes back? What if he tries to kill Snowsong? She would most defiantly not kill him and if Lionheart finds out Blackstorm is alive he would go out and search, most likely until he finds Black or he kills himself trying." she said. "And I wouldn't be able to fight him, Palesight would run, Honeyfur would either fight our talk, I mean only few of our family would actually try to kill him. And what about Goldensky and Oakmark? Let me guess, he's with them too?" she asked, and as she said the name of her brother the flashback or Oakmark killing Moonpaw flashed before her, and tears filled her eyes. "The Evil Era corrupted this family. What if we cause it yet again?" she asked.
{yeah this family got the worse end of it xD}

(Its a yes XDD)
(Black and Snow face off in a 1v1 Then Golden and Oak jump in, Honey and Lion come out of nowhere and they all start fighting until they manage to chase Oak and Golden off (Or kill them XD) and Lion kills Black once and for all XDDD)
Roarclaw shook his head. "Snowsong would fight him." He said softly. "Honeyfur would too. Foxthorn," He chuckled. "Would probably kill him." He sighed, looking up at the sky. "Yeah, they're out there with him."
