"Oh," Quilkit stepped back. "I'm sorry. I thought since you couldn't see, I could just touch you in greeting," he explained, a little crestfallen that Hivekit had jumped back.

Hivekit leaned into he sibling, eyes shut tight. Maybe this was all a bad dream, and she'd wake up at her mothers belly with perfectly working eyesight. "embewki...." She mewed, her voice heavy with sorrow. "I.. I wan to see... the worl.." This was so unfair. Why was she the blind one? Whatever that meant. She had been promised a world of color, only to be thrown into this blackened hell-hole.
