The sudden movement from two bodies made Whisperkit stir and raise his head with a sleepy snort. He blinked open his eyes, pale green shimmering in the dim light of the den. Hemlockkit's voice made him want to bap his brother on the head and tell him to go back to sleep.
On the other paw, he really wanted his brother to stay awake with Glidingleaf so he could talk to both of him, with what little words he knew. "'M awake, too," he mumbled, pawing at Glidingleaf. "See?"

Ribbitpaw frowned deeply as he heard his brother's response. Drying up his tears the best he could, the young tom slowly turned back around to face his brother. "Fine. Go to bed. I don't care what you do at this point. You're an idiot sometimes, you know that? Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be hanging out with someone who actually cares how I feel." Head held high, the apprentice sauntered away, not looking back to see his brother's reaction. On the outside, it seemed he'd lost the source for his poignancy. Hardly more than a few tears fell and he kept his composure for the entire trek across the clearing. But on the inside, the river of emotions was still raging, ready to spill out again once he reached the den. If Croakingpaw wasn't going to care about him, he knew that at least Ambertail would.

Dear oh dear oh dear. Magpiepaw could feel the walls he’d placed so carefully around his mind collapse. “NO! You can’t-“ He broke off, coughing, and trying to hold back another mouthful of vomit. Mouseleap was overreacting, he was fine! They were just being a jerk. Heck, they probably wanted to stop him from training! Magpiepaw knew he couldn’t let that happen. Looking up from the vomit-soaked moss on the ground, the sickly Tom pushed himself to his paws, nausea clouding gaze. Was the ground always spinning this much? Or at all?

Paw after paw, he was getting closer.... to making everyone think he was an idiot. One pawstep for him was a fraction of one for everyone else. It seemed strange to think of what he was enduring, before looking closely in the spots of his physical appearance that Magpiepaw tried so desperately to hide. His bony pelt, baggy eyelids, and the scent pulsing from his fur. It was stronger after his little vomit train, sadly, and would probably be noticeable to everyone. Including Foxwhisperer. How would he react to seeing his apprentice so sick? And weak.... Everything Magpiepaw’s mentor pushed him to stay away from. The eating, the workouts, etcetera. What a failure he was.
The thought was draining, and Magpiepaw stumbled backward a bit, eyes glazed over. He had failed. The sickness had gotten the best of him. He would never be able to do anything right in life, and would probably be exiled for being such a useless runt. His jaws clenched, throat rumbling with more vomit-stuff. Or not. Magpiepaw had run out of stuff to vomit ages ago.

When the she-cat plops herself down, Nettlespark's maw blooms into a grin. "Every day is relentless suffering and I struggle between life and... Well, life, but less fun... Yeah, whatever. Who needs a guy who tells a good joke anyway?" Blinking, he glances at Echopaw and after a long moment, his eyes widen. "Ah! Irisflame, this is the kid who tried to sneak out with her friend! I had to say something before they did though. You're going to have your paws full." He couldn't believe he hadn't recognized Echopaw until they came face to face up close. After a pause, he tilts his head to the side and tuts his tongue. "Well, you do have a pretty good mentor, and she's enough trouble as it is too. I guess you guys fit together just fine." Hopefully the humor in his dig at Irisflame would be noticed as he gives her a sly sideglance.

Thornpaw sat and watched, concerned for her litter mate."Will he be okay?" she asked Irisflame.

Beechkit, for once, had been sound asleep. Nestled into the buddle of kits she called siblings. The shifting disturbed her but she didn't wake. Just let out a groggy groan and buried her head father into the warm fur around her. However, when her brother, Hemlockkit shoved her in the back the little tabby's head snapped up. "Wha!?" She let out a squeaky yell. Loader then expected but she didn't mind being out. After her screaming war with Snailkit she found it fun.
Blinking her fading blue eyes Beechkit looked around at her brothers who had awoken and then to her mother. "'m wake." The small molly declared. Sleep was still evident in her eyes but she was ready to be up again. Not like she liked to sleep anyhow.

Strikepaw padded up to her mentor. "What are we doing today?" she asked, whiskers twitching with excitement. She hoped they were doing something good. Or fun. Or both!

Mouseleap nodded and lead the Shadow Clan medicine cat to the sick apprentice. She saw Magpiepaw shout that she was overreacting and shook her head and meowed, "If you don't let Irisflame take care of you, you might forever be sick or even worse reach your ancestors. Since I can see that you are a strong warrior, let your medicine cat do her work and you will be better in no time."Mouseleap overheard Thornpaw and meowed, "He will be as long as he let Irisflame take care of him. You did well standing by your brother." She paused and peered into Thornpaw's eyes. Something seemed off about her, like she just witnessed murder. "Hey kiddo, you okay?" she asked Thornpaw.

"Hi." She quickly touched noses with her new mentor and offered a smile,"You're... late?" she noted, meaning it more as a simple observation than a jab at the warrior. Before she could continue, her attention flciked up to the highbranch and Icestar's announcement of a new medicine cat apprentice. "Congratulations Echopaw!" she cheered.

Green eyes scanned the crowd even as she turned back to Creekwind, as if still searching for Timbergrowl though it was clear he wasn't around. The apprentice didn't look particularly disappointed, more curious about the whole scenario, "I really wasn't expecting to get a new mentor. I didn't even realize Timbergrowl was gone."

"Huh?" she paused, thinking what she should say."Oh, yes. I'm fine" she told Mouseleap. She turned her attention back to Magpiepaw.
