ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

Sungaze walked back into the camp, the prey he was able to grab in his maw which he dropped off before going over to Copperfire to report, "The hunting went well we all were able to get a few pieces of prey. Though we probably would have been able to get some more if the skunk wasn't there."

Sungaze's tail flicked slightly in nerves, but he settled it down before going on, "While we were all getting ready to start heading back, a skunk came out. With their smell in mind I was trying to get us out of there as quick as we could. I think in all we lost a vole and a mouse as we ran from it's spray." He licked his chest in slight embarrassment explaining the story. He glanced over at Frostshade and Cherrypaw to see if they wanted to add anything.

Ashpaw suddenly thought about what he'd just said: what would Flamepaw think of him?"Ehrr.. I'm trying to push him, but maybe he doesn't want me to do too much in a few time. Anyway, I've been practicing with Bumbleflight and now I've got the basis both for hunting and fighting."

Should he ask her to do some training together? But while thinking about that, Flamepaw was already suggesting to go to Sunkissed Creek. "Oh, that's... a great idea! Is that the place with low waters where we can even fish?" Ashpaw had never thought about fishing, but he would always try gladly new things.

"Anyway... I'm sorry Mapleleaf gave you that impression. Honestly I didn't really notice that." Was Mapleleaf pregnant? Ashpaw didn't know anything of her personal life, but she just sounded like a tired queen expecting kits. Maybe he should find out before they could ask her to come out with them. "You know, if Mapleleaf is so tired I can ask someone else."

Darkpetal, Ashpaw's mentor, seemed to be taking it too slow for Ashpaw's liking. And to be quite honest, Flamepaw understood her friend's reasoning. At least he got Bumbleflight to help further his training. And it seemed like Bumbleflight was doing his job. Unlike Echosong and Rushfire... Flamepaw sighed and flattened her ears until Ashpaw reacted to her offer to go to Sunkissed Creek.

"Yes, that's it!" she confirmed with a purr. "Mapleleaf taught me how to fish there. It's really different from hunting land prey, but also really satisfying. She's a great warrior, but I wish she'd tell me what's urged her to be so... out of it. If you think asking another warrior to come with us is a better idea, I'm all for it! Who are you thinking of asking?"

Bumbleflight hummed thoughtfully as he lay in the center of the clearing, chewing slowly on the pigeon that served as his meal. Having to chase down Fireflyheart to make sure he kept out of trouble was tiring, both physically and mentally, and the dark brown and cream tabby had taken a nap the moment he got back, exhausted from the day.

Now somewhat awake, the young warrior was... A bit bored. Now that he had dealt with that warrior, and had taken a nap afterwards, Bumbleflight had no idea what to do now! But... It wasn't like he could simply get up and demand that someone entertain him, or give him something to do. So, the warrior instead decided to continue to eat, silently hoping someone would approach him for something.

Brittany had finally found camp. Now she just had to find a kit to take. pretending like she was a ThunderClan cat, she bent down and smiled at a kit. Hello little kit. Come with me! She said, making it seem safe.

Noticing an unfamiliar cat with a strange scent, Flamepaw narrowed her eyes and padded over to the stranger. Who are they and why are they here? the she-cat stood tall. Luckily she was large enough to pass for a young warrior. But this cat didn’t pass for a Clanmate. The scent was too… I off to be a ThunderClanner.

“Why are you here?” Flamepaw challenged with a growl. “You don’t smell like any of us, who are you?”

In case this stranger was trying to trick her, Flamepaw decided not to say her name. Who knew what this cat was trying to do with a kit. Flamepaw stepped between the stranger and whatever kit she was trying to talk to.

Had been sitting on her own with a little rock she had found, happily playing with herself while her thoughts went about, but jumped a little and looked up confused as a new face spoke to her. "uhh, what?" Kits weren't allowed outside. And Brightkit wasn't gonna say it, but the cat smelled weird. She unwillingly wrinkled her nose a little, and looked around in confusion when two cats, Flamepaw and Batblood is she didn't remember incorrectly moved forward, seemingly angry.


Batblood

The sharp smell of the outsider assaulted the Keeper's nose, and Batblood immediately located the intruder. A threatening hiss snaked it's way up his throat as he unsheathed his claws and moved toward them. "Get out." His voice was a low snarl as he stepped in between the kit and rogue.

Flamepaw let her lips curl into a snarl. She isn’t a ThunderClan cat! Puffing out her fur to make herself look even bigger, Flamepaw unsheathed her claws. If they were a ThunderClan warrior, they’d know to never bring a kit outside! I know from personal experience…

“Get out! And get away from ThunderClan’s kits!” She yowled, getting ready to pounce in case this ‘Lilystorm’ wanted to forcefully take Brightkit. “You don’t belong here!”

Big oak my fluff! There’s no such thing as ‘Big Oak’!

Would anything like this happen if Cindersky was here? That was one of Cloudyflight's thoughts as she almost numbly padded forward to stand beside Brightkit. Batblood and Flamepaw handled the outsider, or they would, so she would get Brightkit away. Yes, that would be a good thing to do. "Brightkit, come with me to the nursery. You're going to be okay, remember me from the meeting?" She said softly, wrapping her tail around the girl if she was allowed to, and tried to guide her away from this situation.

Ok, Batblood seemed really, really angry, and Brightkit glanced between all the three cats, before slowly getting up and back a few steps towards Batblood before shaking her head towards the oddly-smelling cat a little. "Kits aren't allowed outside camp. Right, Batblood?" She was really confused and unsure what to say, and that was kinda the only thing she came up with. Then, finally, a truly familiar face appeared, and Bightkit's body visibly relaxed at the sight of Cloudyflight. "yeah, s-sure!" That seemed like a lot better of an option than staying in this oddly tense situation (who was that one cat anyway?). She took a few quick steps towards the fluffy cat and felt the usually bright smile grow back on her face.


Batblood

The Keeper snarled again at the rogue (who didn't seem too smart). Flamepaw had also noticed the newcomer and approached them. Batblood was the older and higher ranking cat in this situation, and therefore took it upon himself to fix this rather than just sitting back and watching. He grunted to Brightkit (an unspoken 'that's correct' to her question) and moved forward to swipe the rogue across the cheek - just a warning, but still.
