Kai gazed at the fox as she stood and, was actually quite surprised to see how small she actually was compared to him, his eyes had widened a little, hoping she hadn't seen his surprised expression, which he quickly got rid of. He listened to her and approached her some more, not even a tail-length away from her now, he thought about her offer for a bit before he finally gave a nod. "I don't really have anywhere to be, so I can, sure." He said.

Red blushed more and now refused to make eye contact with Kai as she said "Alright well, f-follow me then." With that she walked back the way they came and not even a minute later, she jumped over a fallen tree and emerged into a small clearing where a large tree trunk sat fallen in the middle with a small hole for her to climb under. She nodded to the tree "So this is my territory and that little hole right there is my home." She glanced over at Kai "I-I know it's not much but if you want I could maybe find some materials to make you a den as well or even just a space to sleep on out here." Why was she acting like this? Because Kai was a wolf? Because he was much bigger and stronger than she was? Or was it because she liked him?

Kai nodded as Red told him to follow her, he watched his surroundings, he hadn't quite visited the territory whenever he came here, he only used it to go and drink as it was the nearest source of water to where he hung out most of the time. As they made it to her territory, he gazed at the tree, he was way too big to fit in there. "We could find some stuff to make a den, and you could actually live somewhere else than that trunk, must be humid in there." He said and looked at her, she was acting a little strange now, was she scared of him? "Is everything alright?" He asked.

But just as she said that her tail lightly brushed against his and she leaped back at the sudden contact, blushing furiously as she said "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry I-I didn't mean t-to-" She cut herself off as she realized how stupid she sounded. She then turned around and said, "I-I'll go look for some materials for your d-den." And, without waiting for an answer, she quickly darted off into the forest.

"It's alright you know, it's just our tails, nothing more." He added, he then watched her dart off with wide eyes, confusion clear in his eyes. "It would've been a lot easier if we had both gone the same way..." He told himself, but followed in her tracks, or well, followed her scent, he didn't run, making sure to look out for what could be good for a den and what wouldn't be as good, making sure to keep Red's scent in range, whenever it became faint, he'd pick up the pace.

Why can't I just like other foxes and be..." She sighed "Normal." She looked down at the ground in front of her and saw quite a few sticks had fallen from the tree earlier, and they were decently large as well! So, she picked up a few of the larger ones in her mouth then continued forward, still looking for materials but at a slower pace as her blush slowly died down.

"You didn't have to run off like that, you know?" He asked, he was starting to get why she had been acting so weird and he wanted to test some things for himself, he once again made their tails touch and looked at her from the side of his eye, he needed to make sure that he wasn't just thinking about what she could be thinking about, he really wanted to make sure of it, and maybe tease her a little when he could, after all, if she wasn't gonna say anything about it, he could have it go as long as he wanted before making a move.

She started shuffling her paws as she continued on hastily giving a small smile "N-not that anything h-happening I-I mean, w-why would it? I-It's not like I l-like you or a-anything." She gave a nervous laugh.

Kai smirked a little as she reacted in this manner once again, this time, he met her gaze. "Oh, you totally don't like me." He teased and gave the top of her head a small nuzzle to see how she'd react, at this point this was really a game for him, he was teasing her as much as he could basically, he wanted her to give in and tell her the truth after all. "Just tell me the truth, Red." He said and stopped her dead in her tracks.

She took a deep breath and looked him straight in the eyes "I like you, I'm attracted to wolves and not foxes, I'm a nervous wreck, I'm a screw-up, I'm too scared to act on the feelings I have because it hasn't ended well before, and I'm afraid that now you'll leave because of how pathetic I look and act." She gave a few deep breaths then scowled up at him and snapped "There, happy!? Now just go already if you're going too!" With that, she turned around and sprinted back to her den where she curled up in a ball and started crying.

Kai listened to her as she spoke, he nodded at what she said, but didn't seem that scared or surprised as she snapped at him, he followed her as she ran back to her territory, he sniffed the air and quickly found out where she hid, this time, he reached into her den, gently grabbed her by the scruff and pulled her out of there, before she could even move, he had her firmly pinned on her back under him, he didn't put too much weight on her as he did not want to hurt her, but enough weight to keep her still. "I sure didn't come here to see you be a crying mess, now stop crying, I'm not leaving." He said firmly. "I'll even stay here forever if you want me to." He added.
