Jam paused for a moment, a long moment as they thought. They knew that the two volunteers were loyal, strong, brave souls but... oh, who to choose? There was Snapper, an awfully sarcastic snake who was grumpy half the time but if the odds were there they knew Snapper would lay down their life for the travelers in an instant. Then there was Talon, a brave bird who always seemed to be a sort of protector of the clan. Perhaps, perhaps they needed Snapper, Snapper would keep the animals in line and not be too soft about. But, Talon would keep them safe... Talon would keep them safe anyway so... Perhaps the right choice was Snapper. Jam thought for a second longer before nodding their head.
' ' I have made my decision! ' ' Jam said, their voice echoing like a suspenseful drum, ' ' You two are both wonderful animals, Talon, so brave and loyal. I can always trust you to protect the clan in times of need. Snapper, so stern but if the odds came to it I would always trust you with my life. You both are good friends and good animals but, I have come to decide, a very hard thing to decide, that Snapper, would be a better choice. Talon, you are a wonderful protector and your skills to fight are unlike any other I've seen but I need an animal that I can rely on to keep everyone in line. Thank you both though. ' '
Jam lowered his head a bit and watched their reactions. Not just the two candidates but the whole clan. Would they approve? Would they laugh? What will happen next..?
Talon stood tall as jam was in process of choosing, he perked as jam finally spoke, he smiled as jam commented on each of them, he co to ued to listen as Jam finally made the decision, Snapper, the sarcastic snake, his wings opening slightly as his thought swirled into a tornado in his head, He can barely understand snappers dang words!. The male eagle breathed in heavily and sighed accepting Jams choice he dipped his head then looked back at Jam" Well congratulations Snapper I get to hear you snap more of your hiss, You'll make a fine leader" he said with a small excitement in his voice. He then looked at Jam and dipped his head before speaking"I think I'll go and uh maybe patrol see if theirs any activity recently" he said to the 2 before opening his wings and taking off Rapidly. His wings flapping quickly before he went into a glide for awhile*Snapper the choice was Snapper the grumpy hissy snake, just be calm and do your duty and that's it no change just be the regular hawk providing everything and protecting yup nothing to worry * he thought as he watched everything below.

Midnight arrived with a larvae on his beak. He stayed in a branch as he swallowed the small creature. He decided he was not in the mood to be with the other animals. He just really wanted to stay hidden between the branches of a tree and sleep or relax.
Scurrying back into camp from a short hunting trip (he'd caught nothing! Curse everything!), the slick-furred mammal made his way towards an empty spot of camp. He had no energy left for social interaction, so he simply flopped over, rolling onto his back to warm up in the golden sun.

It is currently night time, the weather is clear and the sky is NOT cloudy. Jam will be leading everyone out of the camp tomorrow morning, if you do not reply within 72 hours of that post your character will be considered eaten by a green monster (crocodile). Thanks <3 <3
