For some strange reason, the white apprentice had no trouble believing Doepaw when the molly claimed that, no, she was not usually so clumsy, despite the very obvious evidence showing otherwise. Odd as it may be, Frostpaw found it easy to trust the other cat and be around her in general. It was that same thing that made him feel at peace around her... and he still didn't know why. Perhaps the grey-brown molly simply didn't seem like the type to lie? Was her disability causing him to underestimate her potential in being a possible enemy? No, that wasn't it - definitely not. Frostpaw knew that the other apprentice's blindness didn't hinder her abilities. Not too much, anyway. Pointedly ignoring the recent increase of accidental attacks and random tripping.

He flicked his tail in agreement when Doepaw brought up hoping that there wouldn't be another accident, although realistically, Frostpaw doubted that StarClan would grant their wish. Higher powers simply seemed to dislike the white tom for one reason or another, and once again, five accidents, still not past dawn. Going the rest of the day without another would be very unlikely. Maybe if they happened enough, the apprentice would grow used to being knocked around. Who knew? Odder things had happened before.

Doepaw seemed both visibly and verbally irritated, if the bite in her words were anything to go by, and Frostpaw didn't blame her. He would be, too, if he kept tripping around for some unknown reason. The apprentice tended to unsheathe his claws when aggravated to a high extent, which scared some cats although Frostpaw rarely noticed when he did it. His glare was usually intimidating enough without the accidentally implied death threat.

It seemed that the molly finally had things under control, however, once she walked around Frostpaw in a circle and settled down beside the tom. He was about to ask what had caused the bout of imbalance when Doepaw rested her head on his shoulder and countered with her own question. Closing his maw, the apprentice took some time to think. While he had some hunting tips, most of them were fairly basic - don't be loud, pay attention to where you were going - that type of thing. Most of them had to do with observing one's surroundings, which wouldn't be much help to a blind cat. "I suppose so..." Frostpaw began. "It is not uncommon for the earth to be soggy while in the pines. Mud puddles tend to show up at random. I'm not sure whether you have a way of sensing puddles, but developing one might be beneficial if you don't want your pelt to get muddy." He paused for a second before continuing, "Pine needles also litter the floor. They seem to fall off more easily during the colder moons. Prey can often be found near piles of needles, assuming that they are not there simply because you are standing directly beneath a tree."

Stemkit had been practicing her hunter’s crouch and stalking a lot in camp. Though she had been practicing on moss and sticks, but now she had an opportunity to catch her own prey, there was a big fat toad in camp, wasn’t typically eaten, but it was safe to eat, just quite chewy from her experience from the time a group of kits ganged up on a toad and ate it together, but right now it was just her and the toad. She carefully dropped into her crouch stopping to ensure it was correct before stalking forward towards the idiotic toad who seemed oblivious to all the cats around sitting happily in the center of the clearing. She leaped forward, just missing the toad who slowly was hoping away before she lunged forward pouncing on the toad. Pridefully she picked up the dead toad and carried it away to the fresh prey pile.

Hearing her only kits name the molly brightened. Her daughter was all the clan could talk about!" I am so very proud of her as well! Oh my precious Echopaw is my pride and joy." Stormlily was grinning by now at the thought of her daughter. The glowing ember in her vast darkness.
"Nightpaw is making me proud as well. Hunting is going great but fighting isn't her strong suit." Shrugging the brown and grey warrior was proud of both Echopaw and Nightpaw.

"I'm not surprised they're such excellent cats," he chirped happily and brushed his head into her shoulder. "Echopaw had you to raise her and Nightpaw has you to teach her."
His tail flipped towards her, resting on her shoulder and suddenly he remembered why he didn't do that originally. A particularly pretty plant with a lot of teeny, white flowing buds untied from his tail and flopped unceremoniously next to Stormlily.
"Oh, those were for you. I was gonna wait until the conversion ended, but I guess the surprise is ruined."

This is rather hard to keep track of ;;
maybe a posting order isnt the best idea? with so many of us and a lot of different time zones I think it'll be ideal if we just avoid double ppsting (like my silly butt did,) and get the healing done as quick as!

Letting out another soft and drowsy laugh as she rested her head on his shoulder Doepaw listened and then felt around with her paws for a moment on the springy ground. She truly appreciated his willingness to try to explain everything on a level in which she could understand and despite her dislike for being treated like an invalid, Frostpaw didn't make it feel like it. He explained it like it was not something strange, like knowing the layout and the terrain was basic ideas to know. It was the stuff that cats took for granted being able to see, mud pools were no fun just to walk into and she had, as Frostpaw correctly assumed, no idea on how to sense mud and she crinkled her nose a bit and her face turned into a frown. "How... do you... sense mud?" He probably didn't know either considering he could just see it and manage to avoid it. Doepaw would have to figure out a technique on her own, and that would seem to be a challenge considering it was something she'd never had to do before. Mud wasn't a big challenge on Thunderclan territory seeing it wasn't as wet and marshy as the Shadowclan pines. "I guess... it'll be based... on how it... feels... between your paws... Seeing as it... doesn't make any sounds... nor can... be scented unless.. it gets on your fur." Even the mud was good at hiding scents, as it was often used to disguise and disrupt your own scent. Guess falling directly into it with her paws was the only way she would be able to realise if it was there or not. Yet deciding to play a bit of fun of it she said teasingly, "Guess... you won't have... to deal with... my scent... but rather mud... instead." Yet when he started to talk about muddy fur she patted him comfortingly, "I can't... see if my... fur is covered.. in mud. It's you... who should... be more worried about... that." Since he'd described himself as white, and she'd seen the colour in her dream she knew it was probably going to be a hell to get mud out of it. "I am... fine with being... a mud cat. But... I doubt.. everyone else... would appreciate that." Her tail twitched and she did nod in appreciation of his tips. "It does... make... sense.. Thank you." And she did truly appreciate his help. Despite sharing the obvious difference in their lack in how they approached the world, it was always useful and helpful when someone aided you. "I also... appreciate you... explaining the... environment, and not... the basics... sighties use."

Mountainmist was still a bit unsure as the former Windclan molly stood in the Shadowclan clearing but spotting a certain white and cream coloured fur, the large black and grey molly headed over there with a smirk lightening her face. Slowly dropping herself down beside Cloudberry, the queen poked her good good friend with a paw, eyes lightening. "Missed me?" She said with glee, her expanded belly sitting down well with her as she began grooming the ever growing grey fur. At this point she would end up more grey than black with the rate her fur was growing still... never stopping and growing ever closer to suffocating her. Flicking Cloudberry's ears with her tail she said, "You got what you wanted now didn't you Cloudie, gotta pay up now. Not every day you get to realise your one and only has abandoned everything and come to join you right?" She laughed once again and flicked her tail over Cloudberry's ear once again

Letting out a soft smile Doepaw gave the little molly a comforting nudge, "Its... okay. You... don't need.. to worry about... my hearing. I'm.. fine." With that she withdrew her tail and began sniffing around the fresh kill pile. She wasn't the best at figuring out prey items on the pile, much preferring to stick to hunting her own prey where could figure out what it was she was eating without having to sniff it out carefully. Picking up what to her smelled like a shrew, once again, she flicked her ears before retreating to where she heard Echopaw's pawsteps. "Lets go. Eat." With that she steadily made her way back to where they'd came from, making sure to avoid any other cats and did so with surprising ease. She was getting better already and could not help but expressing it in a happy flicker of her ears.

Despite what most cats would think, simply being able to see mud puddles did not prevent cats from walking into them. Pouncing over bushes, which was a fairly common hunting strategy, occasionally resulted in landing in soggy brown-ness. And of course, there were always those times when cats were too lost in thought to pay attention to their surroundings. This had yet to happen to Frostpaw, seeing that he tended to follow behind his mentor rather than leading the way. With the amount of mud puddles scattered around the pine forest, though, it was inevitable that every ShadowClan cat would walk into a brown puddle at least once in their life. Frostpaw was a lucky tom in the fact that he has never accidentally walked into a mud puddle to this day. Accidentally, because marshes were really one, large, muddy puddle, and as much as he disliked marshes, he has hunted in one before. His luck was bound to change, however, after he was promoted to the rank of warrior, because he greatly enjoyed darkness. As soon as his rank permitted him to, the apprentice would explore the forest at night, and he would eventually walk into a mud puddle, because while eyesight could still detect movement when there was little to no light, mud puddles were not animated objects. In darkness, the sense of sight was near useless.

"Mud belongs in the Dark Forest," Frostpaw agreed solemnly when Doepaw brought it up. The brown substance was a pain enough to land in, but having white fur made it many times worse. Washing it off in the river was the only way to get it off. Attempting to groom the mud out of his fur only tasted bad, and the thing crusted after a while, which meant that any efforts were made futile. Why did his fur have to be white? If it had been literally any other color, he... well, he wouldn't have been made an outcast by his own family, for one. Never mind, white fur was fine. He didn't want to be associated with those foxhearts, and it was the color of his fur that set him apart. Huh - it sounded so stupid when he thought of it like that.

The white tom nodded when Doepaw gave him her thanks. Those 'basics sighties used'? He didn't know what Doepaw was referring to by that. The molly had asked for tips, not for a recap of how to hunt regardless of environment, do he gave her just that. They were the observations he had made when his late mentor took him out into the pine forest for the first time. Frostpaw distinctly remembered his irritation at the absurd amount of pine needles everywhere and how the earth was still soggy despite it not having rained in a week. He had noticed all that during what was meant to be battle training. Frankly, he hadn't been paying the most attention to Ravenvine when the larger tom had been speaking about balance.

After a second of silence, Frostpaw asked, "How do you hunt? Can you feel the vibrations of prey when they move around or do you listen to their footsteps?" He was curious. Doepaw was an interesting cat. Her hunting style was sure to be different than a 'sighty's' and Frostpaw wanted to know how. Perhaps knowing could aid him in some way in the long run.

Were all kits usually this hyper? Squirrelkit..Milkkit , uh , maybe a few others. Dawnkit , they wasn't sure about. Wasn't sure about Spiritkit either , they didn't talk to them much. Hm , maybe they were just boring? They hated to admit it , but it seemed likely. Magpiekit wasn't the most exciting kit , that was for sure. Always doubting everything and being all 'dont break the rules'. Maybe they should try to be more fun? No , I don't think that'll work out. They decided , mouth forming into a straight line. I'll stay boring and die boring. A bit dramatic , but oh well. Their ears perked at the young kit babbling and asking what a bug was. “Uh , well...” Magpiekit started , watching Milkkit search around for one. They weren't sure how to explain what a bug was. There were all kinda of bugs and they all looked different.

Drawing in a breath , they started to think about the best way to explain what a bug was. Finally coming up with something they thought was good , they spoke up again. “A bug is a creature , like a butterfly if you've ever seen one. From what I've seen there's a lot of different kinds of them and they all look different most of the time. But they have more than two legs and some are very gross looking , or long , or short.” They explained , but figured the kit wouldn't understand either way. “You'll know one when you see one , they don't look like the prey that the warriors hunt.” They sure didn't! Magpie remembered seeing a caterpillar once; long , weird looking. It looked like something that could only be made in dreams , definitely not something like a toast or lizard or anything they had ever seen. “They're usually in the clearing , uh , maybe in the territory? You can't go out in the territory though , against the rules. But sometimes you can find small bugs like ants or beetles in the nursery.”
