Slatestripe nodded. “Of course you can try! The best way to learn a new skill is to do it yourself. Take your time and think about what you’re doing; you don’t have to be as quick as a warrior on your first try. I certainly wouldn’t expect that of you.”

His stomach rumbled then, triggered by the slight taste of the fish on his tongue as he’d nipped it dead. The tom did his best to push down any thoughts of eating, knowing full well that he couldn’t eat his own catch. Whatever the mentor and apprentice pair caught had to be brought back to the Clan. He had to set a good example for Autumnpaw.

The calico was gazing into the water after her mentor gave her the okay. His stomach rumbled and she almost laughed. Almost running out of breath to hold it back, she tried to zone back into the water.

A shiny silver ball of fish was swimming toward the surface. It only had maybe a dozen fish, but it was there. She studied them for a moment, trying to find a pattern. They moved fluidly and startled at every slight movement. She narrowed her eyes, slowly raised her paw, aimed for a smaller one in the middle, and...

Her paw ducked into the water, claws extending as she wrapped her paw around the little slick fish. She fumbled it out of the water before it flopped on the bank messily. She slapped her paws over it and nipped it before it could flounder back to the water. Grabbing it with her maw, she set the small silver shad by her mentor's sunfish. What is that? It's really slippery. she asked, prodding the dead prey with her claw.

Mothdusk sighed grabbing they three fish they had caught, quickly destroying the den before they started back to the camp. Tail lashing in small annoyance.

But just make sure you put your post in the clearing that you dropped off your prey and Mothdusk will report the patrol

but once again remember that there is an order of replies and we don't have to rush patrols, we still had six days before we even had to report the patrol! /gen /nm]

Rainfern’s stomach felt so much anxiety as her breathing was rapidly trying to slow down. Anxiety had gotten the better of her yet again and she needed Lilacbreeze to help her calm down.

Rainfern’s breathing slowed to a normal pace, glad her friend was here to help. “I was talking to the queens in the nursery and I just felt the attack so I ran here because I thought you might be here and this place usually calms me. Thanks for helping.”
