Troutwhisker padded across the grass to where Rainfern was sitting, his muscles rippled under his fluffy brown fur. “May I sit here?” He asked, a slight purr escaping him before he covered it up.

“Of course,” mewed the amused Rainfern. “I’m always open to company when it’s you, Troutwhisker!”

“Thanks” he mewed before settling next to her, their fur rubbed against each other and he muttered “I actually wanted to ask you something” he started before looking at Raincloud. “Would you be my mate? I’ve grown up with you and I’ve liked you for so long now” he stared at her, nervously waiting for a response.

Rainfern felt her heart speed up by a lot. “Oh my gosh of course I’ll be your mate! I’ve been hoping for a while you’d ask me!”

He rubbed his nose along her cheek and couldn’t stop purring. “I was hoping you’d say that” he started to share tongues with her and still wouldn’t stop purring, he was so happy and didn’t want to leave her side.

Slatestripe had made a huge mistake in the way he’d handled his search party. He’d been assigned a lot of responsibility, and he hadn’t followed through on it. He’d had a few sleepless nights recently, tossing and turning over not doing his job. Shame on him! Why didn’t he tell someone else to finish the patrol? Why did he have to be a weak fool and come back to camp for sickness?

He figured he’d face some kind of punishment for not reporting the patrol. He was fully expecting to be temporarily exiled, given the severity of the situation. Slatestripe wanted to be sure he did as much as possible to make up for the error of his ways before that happened.

“Anyone who wants to come on an impromptu search party with me, please come over and join me now!” he called. Hopefully they’d find her. Stars, he hoped so.

( @oleander This search party is also open to whoever wants to join! This is time sensitive, so I will be bumping people after 3 days and implementing a posting order to keep things organized and efficient )

Mintpaw immediately headed up to Slatestripe, following his voice from the other side of the camp. If he was in a patrol, she should be as well. She stopped in front of him, tail raised as to signal that she was ready.

Livid. That was a good label to describe the bubbling emotion Otterfluff felt in his chest. Though his outward appearance betrayed nothing of his thoughts, the former shield was incredibly upset. He had been watching from a spot in camp that only two of the patrols who had gone out to search for their missing medicine cat had reported back - which left quite a bit of territory uncovered. That just would not do. Was the Clan not concerned with their healer missing so close to leaf-bare? Not only that, but as far as he knew she was still young, and hadn't had much training. Or were they content to move on without her because they had a more experienced cat at the helms now? Whatever the case was, the brown tom found that he was disheartened at the state of RiverClan right now.

Taking things into his own paws seemed to be the most viable option, and though he was set to go out alone another set of eyes would be useful. And there was one cat who came to mind... Seeking out the familiar pelt of the apprentice in camp, Otterfluff strode over. "How would you like to accompany me in searching for our missing medicine cat, Birchpaw? It appears as though half the Clan does not see the severity of such a situation, seeing as a majority of the territory has been left unsearched." He kept his tone even, though there was a glint of fire in his eyes that showed just how frustrated he was at his Clanmates.

The silver tabby's ears swiveled toward the calling of Slatestripe, a search party? did he not do his job when given to him? They had seen Sunstone and Featherflame send out patrols to find the missing medicine cat but barely any of their clanmates reported. Truly the fire they barley kept them in themselves was roaring in anger inside of them.

The shield stalked over to the other warrior, tail lashing in fury, truly they had no patience the past few moons for warriors that were slacking on their duties, "Slatestripe, were you not assigned a patrol by Sunstone and Featherflame? Why did you not actually complete said task given to you?" Their gaze just barely flickered to the apprentice, Mintpaw that had came over before landing back on the warrior. Her hazel eyes holding the burning anger at the amount of warriors slacking lately.
