Bastet's nose scrunched up at Spiderpaw's long winded response.
These cats seem well fed and believe in their boarders. Maybe further enlightenment was needed. Meaning he wanted to join if it meant he could eat properly.
"Well, now you have me curious. This clan of yours- would they be willing to have extra paws around? Helping with stuff, keeping order. What have you."
please shut up now
He stopped himself as he started to ramble.
"Can we join?"
More blunt! Good!
They probably preferred cats straight to the point.

Goosefury's ears twitched as Spiderpaw began to go on a trade. It wasn't what he would have said, but hey, it worked. He gave her a small smile before he returned his attention to the rogues.

The question was... surprising, to say the least. He gave Bastet a careful look, as if trying to decide whether or not the rogue was kidding. Then he shrugged. If they pissed off Lionstar, that would be their problem, not his. "I'll have to take you to talk to the leader. He's the one who decides whether you stay or go. Come on, Spiderpaw, let's take him back to camp. Unless the other one wants to go with you, too?"

had goosefury smiled?? nice! she knew she could give him a good impression of herself! yayyyy! that was absolutely great -- spiderpaw smiled back wholeheartedly. wait -- hm?? they wanted to join now?? cool, cool. not what she'd expected, but spiderpaw certainly wasn't against it if they were let in. "uhh.. yeah! what he said!" she chimed in before taking a few steps over to goosefury as he mentioned her name. turning over to the other one, the dark-furred apprentice waited impatiently for a reply, getting ready to go. although, to be fair, the cat who'd asked to join had said 'we', so maybe that counted for the both of them?

Bastet glanced at Basil.
Why would he join without wanting Basil to as well?
"I couldn't leave her, we've been traveling together since the beginning- I wouldn't leave her now."

"Bastet!" Basil quietly hissed. "Sorry, me and my friend have to talk real quick." Turning back to the pair of clan cats. "Are you sure they're just going to let us walk right into their home and let us join them? How do you know that they're leading us to a trap?"

Bastet turned to Basil and followed her a little way off, and listened to her.
"A trap? What would a bunch of wild cats want to trap two stragglers for?"
He frowned a bit- her concerns made sense, but....

"yep. listen to the smart one. you're the ones who wanted to join, anyway -- if you don't wanna come then this is your chance to go byebye. last call - c'mon now." spiderpaw was kinda getting tired standing around and waiting for these ol' cats to finally make their decision and aimed a glance over at goosefury, tapping her tail on the ground impatiently as she gave bastet and the companion a look to hurry up. they didn't have all day, now, did they? not as far as she knew.

Goosefury scoffed. A trap? These cats were stupid. "Spiderpaw's right," he said, jerking his head at the unnamed cat. "We don't have any reason to 'trap' you, so stop being so paranoid. You, Bastet or whatever your name is," he added, turning back to the tom, "if you want to join, follow us. Your friend there can follow if she wants. Or not. It's all the same to me."

With an offhanded shrug, he turned to head back to camp, not caring if they followed him or not. "Come on, Spiderpaw, let's go."

Bastet looked back to Basil, a desperate, pleading look to his eyes.
"Please. This is the best chance that's presented itself to us, do you want to keep starving when there's the possibility to be well fed and have support if we need it? Basil, please."
He wouldn't count on another great opportunity presenting itself to them and hoped she wouldn't refuse, because he was not leaving her to be alone. If she didnt go, he didn't go. They'd been in this together for too long for him to abandon her now.

Basil sighed. "I know, but we just met them. I couldn't help feel scared and paranoid." She knew that neither of them could handle well without the other. "Fine, I'll go with you." She mewed giving an affectionate lick between Bastet's ears.
