Softbear pondered for a moment, the clogs of his mind slowly turning as he tried to think of his best catch. "Ah pheasant! Large n' beautiful tis was. Gave it to Buckstar... poor bud looked utterly exhausted but he's practically glowin' up there.", His lips twitched up into a proud smile. He always felt alienated from clan life sometimes but now was one of the few moments where he truly felt a sense of pride.

They were a bit aways from the rest of the crowd, so Lionpaw assumed that this molly was somewhat shy. She had been standing up until his point of approach, however, so maybe it was him. The abyssinian mix was aware that he was larger than most cats, and Windpaw seemed a bit... smaller than most. Not that he was saying that that was a bad thing, but he practically towered over the she-cat. Having a tall stature was good for when he wanted to intimidate others, which was rare. Not so much useful for reassuring others, though.
As the announcements started, Lionpaw made an effort to pay attention to the leaders' words while still not ignoring Windpaw. It seemed like ShadowClan still hadn't appeared yet. That was... somewhat concerning, and the golden tom couldn't help but worry for the missing clan. Had something bad happened? How about Frosty; was he okay? The apprentice banished those thoughts for a moment and grinned at Windpaw during the transition of speakers. "So," he meowed in what he hoped was an amiable tone, "is this your first Gathering?"

The compliment was a new feeling, truthfully, she couldn't remember if she had ever gotten one. The she-cat felt her ears twitch, the leaders had started annoucements. She was partly listening to the leaders while mostly focusign on Lionpaw. For any sort of aggression that was for sure. At the question, she didn't really know how to act. "N-no..." then she added "... second."

Yeah!
He wasn't sure what they could learn from them, but the possibility was there!
Bloompaw shyly Boulderpaw shuffled his paws, uncertain why we was nervous suddenly. He was the one who had wanted to talk to him!!
His ears flattened and tail waved a greeting.
"Hello! I'm Bloompaw from ThunderClan! This is my first Gathering. I'm excited to be here. I'm not sure what clan you're from, though! You smell like salt and warm sand."

Bristlepaw had been contently listening to leaders, thinking about his idea of just a leader gathering and no real gathering of the clans. It was boring and annoying. And all had been going find until another apprentice of his age scurried up to him. Who he somewhat towered over. His long fur and large structure would hopefully scare this idiot off. But, of course it didn't. He'd actually have to put in the effort to get rid of this pest. "Bristlepaw, RiverClan. Now get out of my fur." He growled.

The announcements were bland. Nothing interesting, although he supposed that no noteworthy trouble was a good thing. His clan's irritating deputy seemed to be too busy bickering to make a good first impression, but that was about it. More missing cats like the snow-pelted molly who had disappeared one day. Whatever. "This is my fourth, I think," the golden tom shared. When he put it that way, it made it seem as if he'd been an apprentice forever. It would've been five had the fire not occurred. He didn't want to seem bothersome, but Lionpaw was resolute in keeping the conversation going. "Is this the first time you've seen waves up close?" Really, the abyssinian mix was inquisitive as to why Windpaw would be standing within reach of them when she looked so scared every time they crashed onto her, but it wasn't his place to question such things out loud.

"Pheasant? I'm not sure I know what that is but it sounds good!" Sparrowskip chuckled a bit. "How is Buckstar? He probably pretty stressed as a new leader huh?" @Romulus

Re: September Gathering
High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement]
Sootflare
__________
The ThunderClanner didn't seem to realize their comments were about her - else she didn't seem to acknowledge it, "Prickly is certainly one way to put it." he replied, letting out a sigh and rolling his shoulders back to sit up straighter. He glanced over as Glidingfeather began to speak again, "I don't think anyone is particularly good at first impressions. Either you get involved in situations out of your control or you try too hard and look like an ass, I think."
ShadowClan? Were they talking about ShadowClan now? Their absence from the gathering was certainly noticeable but it was an odd transition - or lack thereof really. "I do wonder what's made them miss the Gathering. I don't think it's much like Icestar to miss making a scene. Bickering with her favorite boyfriend." He gave a short nod up towards Lionstar.

Yewbark
__________
"Oh..." she paused to think about it. How long had it been? Not terribly long. "About a moon ago, I think." Thinking about her name for too long made her stomach do little flips. What had Asterpaw said at their last gathering? Something about Yew being another name for a deathberry. Her new name made it slightly better, -bark made it sound more like a tree to anyone who wasn't aware of the connection.

Hailpaw froze for split second, but soon enough turned her head to greet the other with a respectful nod "Hello" she meowed.
Silence briefly came upon her, wondering from which clan this cat may be-- not ShadowClan, at least. "what might your name be?" she eventually questioned lightly. Then Lionstar, leader of RiverClan, spoke up and Hailpaw's attention was partially caught. She glanced at the leaders, listening, but kept an ear open to catch Breezetail's answer.

"I'm Breezetail," She mew'd "Of thunderclan," Her ears twitched, "What clan are you from?" Maybe should could befriend this apprentice, where'about most warriors just looked at her, her blind eyes catching their's by mistake. She pushed the thought to the back of her head.
