Halfstone's ears burned, embarrassed that he'd slipped up and called his apprentice by an old pet name he gave to his sister. "Its an endearment," was what he meant to say, but probably sounded more like "deer meat" or something equally strange in between sputters.

"Erm." He cleared his throat, now even more embarrassed than before. "It's an endearment. I used to call my sister that. I guess you remind me of her."

"You're funny, and I like you for that!" The apprentice with her child-ish voice responded. Greenpaw was more the size of an older kit, making her smaller than her mentor. @Rainquail

Weaselpaw lightly padded closer to her brothers, remaining quiet as she did so. Briefly, she wondered what such a meeting was about-- Lionstar didn't seem like his usual self. She couldn't place what emotion he was feeling, but... it wasn't good. The apprentice settled down next to Crabpaw and Sleetpaw, focus glued to their leader.

Berrypaw padded up to the streamstone. Another meeting already? But the last one was just a few days ago. She sat down, wondering what this one would be about.

"RiverClan, I have some dreadful news.

"It appears ShadowClan has launched a raid on ThunderClan. It was a cruel, unnecessary move solely because Icebrains has decided throwing a fit over a broken alliance and her pride is worth soaking the ground with blood.

"Now, I know you all may be wondering.. what does this have to do with us? To put it quite simply: Icebrains won't stop there.

"Her Clan will lick their wounds and rejoice in their victory, but I've known that fiend for many moons now-- and I know this is only leading to a future assault on our own Clan! Icebrains attacked ThunderClan over pride, and we wounded her pride gravely when we successfully raided her Clan in Leaf-bare after she threatened our well-being. I have no reason to not believe her battle with ThunderClan is merely a stepping stone to a larger attack on us to recover what pride she lost in our previous conflict.

"Already since her leadership, we have had multiple instances of ShadowClan cats trespassing on our territory, attempting to steal our food and harm our Clan-mates. Her first deputy, Crowtail-- accompanied by another warrior, an aggressive warrior named Twilightheart who attacked some of our Clan-mates during the Gathering a couple moons ago and then trespassed and tried to kill one of our patrols afterwards. And just earlier today, one of their apprentices found their way into our camp and harassed one of our kits.

"If I did not have reason to believe ShadowClan was taking steps to act against us, to spy on us and learn the layout of our territory-- I would not be suggesting this, but as it stands I would like to propose a precautionary raid on ShadowClan while they are working on recovering from their injuries. Another raid to put them back in their place, to discourage them from even considering to raise a paw against our Clan now that they've a taste for a Clan outside of their favor."

Lionstar paused for a moment, letting this sink in. "I am not demanding this raid, but for the good of the Clan I ask for your support. The less of our blood that is spilled, the better-- and I firmly believe that taking advantage of Icebrain's recklessness will reduce the chances of future conflict between our Clans.

"If we take this opportunity, we will force ShadowClan to focus on recovery longer. We will break the triumph they feel, remind them that their actions have consequences, and disrupt any plans they have for future raids."
