Stepping out of the clearing, one, two steps, Stonepaw began to grin, only to jump back into camp, looking around to make sure no one saw him. Again the grey tom skipped out, one, two, three steps, and again, he took steps back. The process repeated a third time, and a fourth. To be quite honest, Stonepaw wanted to collect more gifts, as last time had been a complete success of a search. He was pretty sure he'd be meeting the other medicine cats soon, and, ignoring the fact that he didn't have a clue who any of them were, he was determined to bring them something cool, a gift of sorts.
But he couldn't do that if he wasn't allowed in the territory on his own. Add that to the fact that he didn't see his Dad, or, well, anyone he knew, and it ended with the conclusion that he was stuck here. Or... The form of a warrior appeared from the woods, and he prepared a quick monologue as the tom came closer. "Hello, Mr. Beast... man." Oh dear, he had already made a mistake. He'd been practicing with names, trying his best to remember them, but with lonely guys like Beastman, he wasn't always the best at remembering. "Would you be okay to take me into the territory?"
There was more to be said, always more to be said, but he was being sneaky right now, so the tom wasn't allowed to know until later. Or, maybe now, if that would be more convincing. Only if he asked, only if he asked. Trotting a few steps into the snow, he turned around. "We don't have to talk if you don't want to, I just want to grab a few things." And ask a few questions. Boy, wasn't Stonepaw the most evil little jokester. Hopefully, he'd successfully trick Mr. Beastguy into helping him out.
The brown tuxedo apprentice had noticed their mentor but more importantly their mother had gone missing. She was worried oh yes she was, but she knew her mother was strong enough to handle themselves. But she needed some training, they hadn't been able to do much before she had gone missing.
They looked around, looking for either Gingerfrost or Pikestar and their eyes landed on Gingerfrost first. They quietly padded over to the large deputy, gently poking him, giving him a moment before they raised their paws to start signing, "Hello Gingerfrost, I was wondering if you could help me out...my mentor went missing and I haven't been able to get any training."Once they said that they settled all of their paws back on the ground.
While the young deputy remained within camp, busying himself with disposing of rotten pray and verifying it's surroundings, he now began to shift closer to the clearing's centre to be within plain view. It shouldn't be long any more before patrols were to start reporting back, so he was readying himself for that. His was mildly distracted, thinking back on some past events and wondering how Cattail Pond was looking at this moment, when a light poke to his side pulled his intention downwards.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a warrior reporting back from patrol early, with excellent results. On the contrary, it was one of their apprentices - Cicadapaw. And it looked like she had something important to say. Turning his head to face this apprentice, Gingerfrost quirked a light cat brow, gaze soon being caught by the movements of her paws. Was that...?
For a moment, Gingerfrost was uncertain what to do. Right, yes. Cicadapaw had always been rather silent, he just never bothered to look into why. Could she.. Not talk? Whatever it was, it caused these paw movements that the ginger tabby had to observe with precise concentration and care.
And, admittedly, it wasn't easy. He'd... Seen a worse case before, but that little kit had been very expressive in body language. This was just paws. But.. Nope. Nope. He could figure this out. Staring intently as Cicadapaw, her expressions, her paw movements... It meant something.
Hm? Something about.. Mentors (and a greeting, that one had been easy). And, missing..? Ah. He could see where this was going. Help and what he had to assume meant training, were his final clues to putting together what the younger feline might mean - and for a brief moment, his nose scrunched up. He hated hearing of failing mentors.
"I'll be sure to inform Pikestar."
..Could she even hear? Hopefully. Still, he was careful to articulate clearly this once, in case the apprentice practiced lip reading (he really needed to get to know his clan mates better). "..It's good that you came to see me." Too little apprentices did that; he couldn't have eyes everywhere "I can take you out tomorrow."
With a subtle nod, it was more of a semi-hesitant suggestion than a statement.

Batkit watched from their safe little spot as some big and scary warrior snarled at cats. His eyes were wide, wondering what had gotten the tom so angry. Maybe he needed help? But why would he snarl at others? Batkit crouched down lower, praying to StarClan for even a smidge of courage. He really did want to talk to the warrior. Wasn't that Smokethroat? Batkit wasn't too sure: names were so difficult.
With hesitation, Batkit padded over. "Are you okay?" they asked, tilting their head and blinking slowly at the tom. Hopefully, they seemed friendly to Smokethroat and he wouldn't be hostile.

Mintpaw let Beastflame carry her as if she was a piece of prey. Through half closed eyes, she recognized the camp's walls and realized they had finally reached their home. The exhausted apprentice couldn't turn to see if Mistycloud was still at their side, but she could hear her panting. She was limping too.
Her body felt weak, but she could feel her hind legs and her tail brushing the ground as the gray tom brought her by the scruff, teeth clenched tight in her skin for fear she would slip out and fall with a thump. A tiny trickle of blood almost blinded her right eye; her ear was bleeding, but she hadn't noticed until now. As the young apprentice regained slowly consciousness, she felt burning pain all across her body.
Her fore leg pulsed as if something from inside was tearing it apart. That was the worst part of it, but luckily Beastflame was being more careful than she'd thought. Slate..?
He wanted to see his mentor, but his dark striped pelt wasn't in the clearing. Now cats gathered all around them, and her view got covered by a mix of pelts and cat chattering.

[ @ophelia @Emo Rat @~Half-A-Witch-Ace~ ( @Cherry~viewing purpose) - (open to 3 other more cats to reply. NO more than three please! Also, don't mention Stonepaw because I've already contacted Pheasant and I'll post directly in the medicine cat's den.)]

Murk'creek sat in the clearing, looking up at the sky while enjoying the nice weather. He got up from where he was sitting and stretched out his paws and letting out a big yawn. "I wonder...what shall I do today?" He questioned himself as he looked around the clearing and noticed a cat walking up to him.

The small group finally reached the clearing, and Beasflame set down the apprentice softly on the ground out of the way of foot traffic. After making sure Mistycloud was steady enough to remain with the apprentice, he backed away. Other cats were approaching, and he did not want to be in the middle of the inevitable questioning and prodding and worrying. It was simply too much interaction for him to handle for one day. He observed for a moment through narrowed amber eyes, before deciding it was time for him to report to the clan leader. With a heavy sigh he turned and loped to the leader's den, dreading yet another conversation.
Lilycreek was spending the morning tidying up the nursery. Her new job as the forever queen seemed much more in tune with her schedule, and much more for her. Outside of warrior duties, she'd spent every waking moment with the kits, so it really wasn't a big change. Perhaps she'd miss her life as a warrior soon, but not now.
Especially when she smelled the blood.
Her head jerked up, and she fought the urge to gag. Blood? Panic welled up inside her. She looked around, noting all the kits were busying with something else, and darted out of the den.
Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear. Mintpaw. She ran forward, gently nosing her. "Mintpaw?" Her voice rose a little with concern. Her niece, from Lilyleaf.
Sproutkit?
No. Mintpaw.
She murmured softly, taking in her niece's ragged appearance. "Oh, love..." She turned to Beastflame, and Mistycloud, both of whom looked worse for wear. "What happened? Someone go get Stonepaw." Fear darted around in her green eyes. Lilyleaf. Where was Lilyleaf?
Hearing Fogcloud's acceptance of the challenge for their place amongst the shields, Reedwhisker gave a dip of her head as a sign of respect and waited for Pikestar to emerge from his den after the shield called for their leader. She dipped her head once more, acknowledging the dark-furred tom's presence as soon as he spoke. This challenge would be the first and hopefully, live up to the expectations of both leader and the challenged. And hopefully Fogcloud doesn't have any hard feelings.
"I want the challenge to take place at Lionsbeach. If it is alright with you, Pikestar, I want the challenge to be held strictly in the water so that our skills as RiverClanners are put to good use. Just to our bellies though so you can see what goes on." she looked at Fogcloud then toward Pikestar to see if this would be an acceptable factor in the fight for the Shield rank. It seemed like fighting in the water would be a good reminder to the Clan that without it, they were just like ThunderClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. "I feel like it'd be a good reminder to the whole of RiverClan what we stand for."

They hummed lightly at the suggestion of doing it in the water, it would add to the challenge, "I would be more than okay with that." she was waiting on what Pikestar would say but the shield didn't mind having to do it in the water a little bit. She rather enjoyed the water and they were hoping it would be cold. The cold always pumped them up more compared to warmer weather.
PIKESTAR ( he/them )

Peering at Reedwhisker without saying a word, his partial gaze would slide over to Fogcloud before he’d give his response. “Lionsbeach is fine with me. An honorable fight of RiverClan cats in their natural element.” Pikestar commented, humming thoughtfully as he said this, “It should remain a fair fight regardless. Come, let’s go before it gets too late in the day.” The tall RiverClan leader breathed a light sigh through his nose as he’d swiftly turn towards the camp’s entrance made up of various cattails. He swished his bushy gray-furred tail for both Fogcloud and Reedwhisker to follow close behind him before he started walking without another word being said. It was the time for action.
