Re: The Thunderwillow
Ashpaw (he/him)
Light grey tabby with blue/grey eyes
»»————- ☀︎︎ ————-««
Ashpaw blinked affectionately at Flamepaw, her enthusiasm rather clear in the way her tail twitched and her claws sunk in the ground, probably without her even noticing. The gray tabby didn't have the time to reply to his brother, as Sparrowstar continued her speech with some astonishing news. His mouth almost fell open as every cat's eyes pierced into Cinderpaw's shape, the famous dead apprentice who had been kidnapped by Skystar moons ago. "Why should Starclan make such a decision...?" He felt truly befuddled, but of course he was glad of her returning. And Flamepaw seemed too.
Ashpaw wanted to ask Frostshade more about this mysterious cat who had managed to come back from Starclan, but his brother was talking with another warrior about someone missing... "Great Starclan, Frostshade, I didn't know your mate went missing!" This was supposed to be a special but peaceful meeting for them, but it seemed that today their warrior ceremonies would be among the boring part.
And again, Sparrowstar's voice echoed strongly along the clearing as if declaring such incredible news was nothing for her. But I guess it's just normal for a leader. He thought, shrugging slightly as if to clear his thoughts and concentrate on what was truly important for him. And Flamepaw.
As the gray tom heard his friend's name and then his, excitement made his pelt prickle and he felt hot under the gaze of so many clanmates at once. But he stepped forward with his chest out, pride filling his eyes as he walked alongside Flamepaw toward the perch where Sparrowstar sat. The leader's gaze was warm and welcoming, and Ashpaw suddenly wondered if Flamepaw had some parents in the clan to assist her ceremony.

Crocuspaw pulls himself out of his nest and steps out of the apprentice's den. It felt like he had not been... Up to much, lately. But he wouldn't think for too long on why that was, something told him that he'd only become a little bit morose from the deeper contemplation.
Blinking in the sunlight the tom's eyes adjust too slow, and in the bright glare he sees a couple of shape near the Thunderwillow. The tom had long since discarded his fearful persona around these Clan cats, as it wasn't really beneficial anymore. He'd gotten into the Clan, and gotten past Sparrow's watchful eye- As far as he was aware, at least.
His stride ends as he comes up beside Beankit, and the brown oriental-looking tom looks down at the kitten and its fallen fledgling bird. Crocuspaw's pupils grow as round as saucers for a heartbeat as he watches it wobble. Then, they narrow to slits again as a whole different feeling washes over him- Instinct. That new "mentor" of his might be proud, even.
Before either cat has the opportunity to react, Crocuspaw's paw flashes out and his claws hook the small bird's chest, snatching it deftly from Beankit's protection and up into the air. The apprentice tosses the bird on the ground a tail length away from Beankit, quickly dipping his head down to snap his teeth at the very small, extended neck of the baby bird. It was not a skillful or pretty kill- He had not yet learned of Clan methods. But cats were hunters by nature, and there was no denying that if the intention was there and the prey was easy enough, a cat would kill through sheer instinct.
Crocuspaw then lifts his head and looks at the pair of cats as he stands over the dead bird. It would hardly fill the belly of even an apprentice. "That was so easy!" he exclaims. He would go and let that mentor of his know, for sure. It wouldn't occur to him that having prey essentially handed to him was not something to be quite so proud of, but that was a worry for another day.

"Hey, I'm gonna have a chat with your mentor after this meeting," She tugged at the apprentices ear, "Beankit is just a kit, He doesn't understand the difference between freshkill and friends," she whispers, "It can't even feed a kit-"

Re: The Thunderwillow
Oriolepaw beamed as a cat approached him and identified themselves as his mentor. He studied it up and down, memorizing its appearance so he would easily be able to locate it next time. Light brown. Cream underbelly, muzzle, and toes. Sandy splotches. Okay, Oriolepaw had it.
“My last mentor didn’t train me too much, so I can’t wait to start with you!” he said excitedly, hopping from paw to paw. “I know how to hunt, track, and climb, but that’s all. I haven’t had a territory tour yet. Do you think we could do that?” He’d dreamt of ThunderClan’s territory several times, of all the places he had yet to see and explore.

As Beankit attempts to get closer to the kill, Crocuspaw defensively picks the bird up to hold it out of the kitten's reach, scowling as he does so. And when the older cat swoops in to try and physically assault him, he lets out a growl and ducks away from her touch so that she could NOT tug any part of him (PLEASE do not powerplay!). This was getting dicey.

Re: The Thunderwillow
Ospreypaw watched this all go one with a confused tilt of his head.
Sungaze sighed softly at the kits wailing and running back to the nursery.
Honeysplash was shaken out of their daydreaming when the kit wailed, they grunted in annoyanced.

"Crocuspaw, what you did was mean. I understand that it was fresh-kill but beankit hasn't yet learned the rules about fresh-kill yet..." she sighs, "Then again, You've never seen a kit with an emotional connection to fresh kill..." she thinks and then speaks again... "I won't talk to your mentor, its not your fault... However, it would be nice of you to take Beankit a mossball, or a fresh, small mouse and apologize... I'll explain to him why you killed it... but the poor guy deserves something... can you do that please?" The apprentice had only been doing what they were taught, so it wasn't his fault... I shouldn't have encouraged the connection between the crow and beankit anyways, my error, not theirs...
(sorry, didn't mean to power-play! my bad!)
