This time they were focused themselves. This was going to end up with a bruise or two for both of them - although most surely for Shrewpaw. At Shrewpaw's swing, they purposely let their legs get caught while using the momentum to grab Shrewpaw and attempted to throw him to the otherside of where they'd been battling. "Better, better!"

Feeling triumphant for an instant as Driftstep's legs went out from under them, Shrewpaw wanted to squeak (but didn't) as he was grabbed, and went down with Driftstep. Seeing the bush on the far side of the clearing getting nearer and nearer, he pushed out his legs, and skidded to a stop right in front of it. A bit indignant, he scrambled up, and ran back towards his mentor, trying to leap in mid stride, but only succeeding in tripping over his own legs, and stumbling. Righting himself, he charged on towards his mentor, deciding to do the pushing thing they had told him about.

Birchpaw never heard of this cat before. Hmm. He was hoping that she was good. Once he saw her, he waved his tail trying to get her attention. @hope

Tawnypaw licked his fur and shrugged. "I'm alright. Do you um want to share a vole or something?" he looked away, unable to make eye contact. "Also, did you hear at the gathering? I got a mentor!"

"Mothfur. I haven't met them yet though." Tawnypaw turned to leave the den. "Could you wait here for a couple of heart-beats? I'm going to get some freshkill." He shook out his fur and headed towards the clearing.

Tawnypaw returned with a squirrel hanging from his jaws. He sat down next to Cherrypaw and began tearing off chunks of the meat.

"I really want to become a warrior soon. I think my warrior name will be Tawnyclaw or Tawnyflight!" he meowed, mouth full of freshkill. He pushed the squirrel towards Cherrypaw. "What do you want to be called?"

She took a bite while he was talking then she swallowed. She thought, Cherrybreeze or Cherrystorm. Which do you like? she asked taking another bite. @esa
