Re: RiverClan Leader's Den
Bravekit came scampering over with the energy of a hyperactive rabbit. "Stormstar can I take some prey to the elders den and try and be friends with an elder?" He clearly wanted permission first, as he figured it would be rude to do it without. Such a wholesome and respectful boy. @taillow

Berryshine had been deep in thought, certainly quiet. When Stormstar started pacing and snapping at Cobs for smiling — which was an ironic reaction that confused Berry too, to be sure — she couldn't help but wince a bit, a secondhand reaction to the leader's sharp tone. She'd never been on the receiving end of Stormstar's fiery temper, and even though this wasn't technically directed at her, having it hit so close to home made her realize just how scary the she-cat could be when provoked. Glad she's on our side.
Taking in a deep breath, Berry slowly nodded, her eyes widening with every new detail Stormstar described regarding Rookfire. So the medicine cat had been a former RiverClanner, which made sense... and when she mentioned the part about the six-moon old apprentice, her stomach sank, twisting in nausea. Oh, stars... a look of visible horror crossed her features, but she stayed quiet for a little longer, her whirling brain struggling to keep up and process this. A cat so deadly and fierce to have fled the Clan for not getting the medicine cat position, and ironically, brutally murder such a young 'paw and cause so many injuries... Berryshine could remember how she'd gone into a sort of hazy autopilot that day, treating as many cats as she could, trying to ignore the dead bodies bleeding out in the clearing, the stench of blood permeating the air—
Swallowing hard, Berryshine exhaled shakily, glancing between Cobwebfern and Stormstar. The threat of the November Gathering was probably for the best, even Berry had to agree; if tensions had been this high, and Rookfire had been this... impactful to Cobwebfern, to the rest of them, then staying away for another moon didn't seem like such a bad idea. The younger she-cat, despite her easily-flustered mind, did have a knack for really thinking things through. Maybe to the point of overthinking herself into inaction, which was its own flaw; but right now, it helped her put the pieces slowly together, not wanting to be rash or hasty. Cobwebfern was her best friend, after all, and the last thing she wanted to do was make her think that she'd suddenly lost faith in her. But she also didn't want Stormstar to think she was just taking her position flippantly... because the leader had a point.
"I... I see," she finally managed to rasp out, her voice a bit thin from wavering emotions. Another breath, another hesitation before leafy-green eyes slowly flitted to Cobwebfern, softening to show her sympathy even as her tentative words were spoken. "Staying away from the Gathering next moon might be for the best, Cob... a-at least to have things settle more between us and the other medicine cats. But... as for you..." She frowned a bit, trying to pick out the more coherent thoughts in her racing mind. Berry had been quiet long enough during this conversation to at least get some words in order.
"...I know Stormstar is right to worry about this, f-for the good of the Clan, and I am too. I can tell Rookfire did a lot to you, to our Clan, a-and that's why it was so painful to see him again... but I need to trust and know t-that this was a one-time sort of thing, you know? I've been trying to at least make connections w-with the other medicine cats for the first time in a long time, and this... might've set us back. And it wasn't a good look for us, 'specially after all that's happened the past few moons. But, t-that being said..." She let out a sigh, hating to see the hurt that might flash in Cob's eyes from her honesty, but it needed to be said. At least she had to convey, somehow, that she still believed in Cobwebfern through all of this... she'd just have to convince the leader and perhaps the rest of the Clan who might've seen the debacle, too.
"That being said, I need to trust t-that this sort of thing won't happen again. I know you're strong enough for that, just... w-we'll need you to prove it to us, that's all. Because the good of RiverClan comes first." Berryshine hesitated before reaching out, resting her tail on Cobwebfern's shoulder in a gesture of comfort and faith. "I don't regret picking you, Cob... I know, deep down, you can handle this. I chose you for a reason, and not just for the herbal knowledge. I-I just need you to show that to me, a-and to Stormstar, okay? And to RiverClan... because StarClan knows we need it."
After saying her piece — stars, that was much more than she usually talked — she glanced between the leader and Cobwebfern, frowing in thought, hoping the ramble made sense. It did in her own jumbled head, but that wasn't saying much.

The tom entered the den with ease and questions about his son. "Stormstar." He purred with respect to his leader. "I have a few questions for you." The tom sighed.
Hearing the paw steps approach her den and the familiar scent of Brokenstream drift towards her, the leader grinned as he entered the den. "Yeah, come on in. Been meanin' to talk to you about all that." Head Lionheart duties. She would need to call a meeting altogether with all of them at some point. Especially now that the camp was closer to the original meeting place she had found when she herself was the Clan's Head Lionheart.
"Don't really have an outline of what I want you to do. Basically you'll be helpin' me 'n Owls with stuff like permanent demotions 'n exiles. 'Paws out of camp, warriors caught causin' trouble. You've got full authority to step in 'n deal with 'em as you see fit. I trust you enough to know when it's needed 'n when it's not." The 'not' part was what would need to be gone over, considering her approach differed quite a bit from her brothers. "I also wanna talk about battle strategies 'n new things to teach our 'paws, but that's somethin' I wanna make sure Owls is here for, too. But if you've got any ideas to implement, feel free to hit me with 'em!"
Green eyes returned his leader's grin with a warm blink. Dipping his head respectfully as he entered, Brokenstream sat with his tail wrapped neatly around his paws as Stormstar spoke. "I see. Of course, that will be no problem- I'm happy to help." He mewed cheerfully. The bengal felt as if he pelt was glowing with pride. Stormstar trusted him to lead the rest of the Lionheart team. Not that things would be too much different. Besides, he knew the rest of them were just as reliable. They had a good grew.
When Stormstar asked about battle strategies, the tom tilted his head and looked thoughtful for a moment. "Battle strategies, hmm?..." Brokenstream pondered before giving a brief nod. "While not necessarily a 'strategy' per say, it couldn't hurt to teach 'paws some more water combat." He mewed. "Of course, the other Clans are too scared to get their pelts wet, but that's exactly our advantage. Learning to drive the enemy, whether solo or on a team, towards water might not be a bad idea." He suggested with a twitch of his whiskers. "Oh, that reminds me! I must wish Owltalon congratulations later!" He added with a purr.
Otternose nodded. "Yeah- I do have a name in mind . . . I was thinking . . ." She paused, going over the name in her mind, making sure that it's what she really wants. "I would like the name Ferretnose" she mewed. She liked the sound of it in her head, and it also sounded cute to her as well. She looked at Stormstar, waiting for her to respond.
Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
Well, no picking out names for her. The leader stifled a yawn and shrugged. "Sounds good - I'll get it done at the next meetin'." She'd never done a name change before, she would have to wrack her brain for what the traditional ceremonial words were. Or, at least, what Lions would've done. "Anythin' else?"

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
At the sound of someone skidding into her den, the leader sincerely hoped it wasn't a warrior she would have to demote. Thankfully when she turned around she spotted Bravekit and let out a silent breath of relief. A raised brow met the kit as Stormstar looked down. "...Sure, don't see why not." She wasn't sure why... the kit was asking her. "They might not be the best friends though, since they're a bit grouchy 'n snarky." A kit wanting to be friends with the elders was nothing knew, but it would be a miracle if they entertained any young cats without a fierce tongue.

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
Normally cats stood at the entrance of the den and announced themselves before just barging in. Turning to look at Blazestalk, Stormstar had to shove down a sharp retort, remembering the respect and honor her mentor had taught her, and forced a grin. "Blazestalk - sure, go for it." Questions from elders - never a good thing. The leader took a seat, ears angled forward to listen.

Stormstar - RiverClan Leader
Water combat. It was something that had crossed her mind lately, wanting to implement it more. A majority of battles didn't take place in the water, but Stormstar had her mind on Cattail Pond lately. If they could master how to fight in the water, she would love to see a thunder-rat or two drowned in it. "That could work when we try 'n take Cattail Pond back at some point..." the leader murmured thoughtfully to herself. That was something she still needed to discuss with the others at some point.
"Perhaps you 'n Owls can run a water combat course? I can help if it's needed - a refresher 'n maybe some more advance moves for the 'paws who are closin' in on their assessments. I wanna bring fightin' in the water back as regular teachins', 'n make sure it's somethin' we can use to our advantage." Tipping her head to one side thoughtfully, Stormstar added, "We can hold it at Lionsbeach in the shallows when the tide isn't too rough. Have 'em get a feel for the water 'n how to move in it. What do you think?"

The tom sat down with his leader speaking in a low voice he asked, "Where is my son? I haven't seen or heard from him in days." The tom explained, "Please Stormstar I ask of you I'm afraid something happened to him, I'm just worried." He said trying to keep an attitude out of his voice.
