Shinefang shook his head and muttered, "Just thinking that I wish greenleaf would get here already. Everyone in the clan ought to be much better off when the weather isn't so cold." The old tom leaned forward to stretch his legs with a grunt before adding. "Sounds like a good team. The cats in the medicine den will be glad for a little relief from that draft. Thanks, Rabbit!" Shinefang added with a warm smile. The apprentice was happy at least. It was like Slatepelt had told him, he could take comfort in that at least."

Blossomkit gave a light laugh, the tone filed with joy and clarity. She was always such a high-energy kit that even her laugh exerted the pureness of her kit-likeness. "So," she meowed, plopping down under a small shrub. "What do you like to do now?"

Lilyfreckle sat in a shady area at the edge of camp. A small sparrow lay at her paws. She bent her white-and-ginger head to take a bite. Her tail swished, rustling the dry grasses around her.

Thornkit turned his head towards his fellow kit and padded towards her, sitting in front of her, not under the shrub. He flicked his ear and tail, thinking for a second,"Have you ever... Played mouse and warrior!" He asked, though it sounded more like a statement.

Blossomkit's crystal blue eyes widened. There was a game she hadn't played! Wow! "Let's play it!" She meowed. Then her tone grew thoughtful. "You'll have to teach me, though. I've never played."

Shadepaw smiled and proceeded to actually chew and swallow the meat in his mouth as he watched Flaxkit out of the corner of his eye, the warm sunlight of the morning seeming to shine down onto their pelts and warm the two close friends as they enjoyed a sparrow together, like any two friends would. He decided to lightly poke Flaxkit with one paw, looking at the shecat with a smile once again as he tilted his head to the side ever so slightly. “What would you like to do after eating?” He seemed to silently ask in his amber-hued gaze.

the offer made flaxkit's head stir as a frown pushed the edges of her lips down and her brows knit together. she was only a kit, there wasn't much for her to do other than run around and play games with the other kits, but she wasn't sure if shadepaw would want to do that. sometimes apprenticeship changed kits, made them arrogant and think that those in the nursery were now below them. flaxkit knew shadepaw wasn't like that, he was far too sweet for her to think that. still, she worried. she was an older kit, only a few moons away from apprenticeship if she was patient. she hadn't much interest with the younger litters, and when she was let out she hung around shadepaw most of the time. she still played games and laughed with them, but only because she didn't want them to feel ignored. humming, she pulled herself closer to the rough, patchy fur that became more and more recognisable each time it rubbed against her own sleek pelt. it felt as much home as her own father's fur, but different in a way she could quite decipher.

That’s what most cats go after apprentices for when they finally get out of the nursery and need to act more accordingly to the norm of the clans. However, due to his abnormal looks and mute tone, his clanmates could care less what he did with his own time - as long as he did not get in the way. He looked up at the grey-hued sky overhead, wondering if it would rain today or not - some would be nice, but not a harsh storm or anything. The young apprentice around for any sight that could caught his eye and soon enough, he saw a blackened bird fly across the clearing - a simple raven, nonetheless. It gave a harsh ‘caw’ sound before disappearing into the trees.

Thornkit nodded,"Of course! There's not much to it, though. One cat is a mouse, trying to run away from the other cat who is the warrior. When the warrior catches the mouse, you switch roles!" He tilted his head and looked at her excitedly,"Do you want to be the mouse or the warrior?"

Amberfire was crouched in the clearing, tucking into a small squirrel. It wasn’t very large, a bit scrawny, but her stomach happily welcomed the meal. She hadn’t eaten yesterday, and hadn’t had dinner the day before that, so she had to eat now. It was a bit chilly today, crisp leaves full of bland brown crackling with frost strewn on the clearing. The sun was out, thankfully, so it warmed her ginger spine. She gulped down another morsel of squirrel, then paused to look up.

humming softly, flaxkit stared sleepily at the sky and watched the clouds roll passed lazily as if being lead on a string. the stark white hardly blending in with the greyish blue that plagued the sky during late leaf-bare, early new-leaf. peacefulness washed over flaxkit like rain, bringing a soft smile to her maw that just barely tugged at the corners of her lips. days like these, quiet and lazy, were the days that flaxkit held near and dear to her. they wouldn't last forever, and knowing what was going on with other clans, there were some things that you just had to keep close to you. for flaxkit, that was days like these. rowanflurry. shadepaw. not because she knew that she would lose them one day, but because if she didn't, then when she did lose them, she would no longer have anything nice to look back on. shadepaw was her best friend, and rowanflurry was her father. and, once she became an apprentice, perhaps the quiet days would dissipate into a blur of training, hunting, and war. she shook the thought from her head, brows knit together, and focused on how warm shadepaw's body felt against her own. she took a breath and closed her eyes.
