He was 5 moons. 5 moons! So close to 6! Why couldn't he be called just the teeniest bit earlier so he could have his apprentice ceremony with his friend, Ashpaw. He howled her name the loudest, because she was the only one that bothered to hang out with him. He scanned the clearing for her, and he caught his eye on her grey pelt, and he saw she was communicating to Morningmask, though she didn't look very focused. Shaking out his pelt, he darted over to her, eyeing her with excitement. "Heyo! Congratulations on your ceremony." He said, giving her wide smile, ignoring his tooth rubbing against his skin.

He didn't bother calling anybody's name, it was a waste of time in his opinion. He stared the the other apprentices, giving them all grunts of discontent as he glared at them. I hate all of you, I hope you know. His gaze scoured the clearing as he gave them all individual notes inside of his head, telling them all he disliked them. Inside his head of course.

Howlpaw gave a calm yet determined nod when Dawnstar gave them their new name and turned around to look their for mentor. The large apprentice spotted the tom they knew as Rainysky and padded over to him. "Hello, it's nice to meet you. I hope we can get along well," they mewed politely to their new mentor. Even if they would much rather be trained by their father they knew that parents did not normally train their kits, so the golden cat would have to settle for Rainysky and hope he was good enough.

He looked to the side to find a rather big apprentice padding towards him. He nodded at their greeting. "Nice to meet you as well. And, same here." He mewed, inspecting his new apprentice. "Welp! We can't afford wasted time, so lets start with the borders, shall we?" He quired, letting his apprentice decide what they should do first. He decided that he would be the kind of free flow mentor, letting the apprentice pick and choose while he tagged along, being his passive aggressive self when he needed to be. Youngsters should be able to make their own decisions anyway. He thought with an internal grunt.

He so wanted to run to Robinkitty and bestow a hug upon her, but he didn't know if she was a grumpus wumpus like the rest of ShadowkittyClan.
"Robinkitty, Robinkitty! Can I give you a hug?? I'm so-o-o-o-o excited that today has finally ar-arrived! I've been dreaming of it forever!"

Spiderwebpaw’s way of speaking was…strange. Robinkitty? I’ve never heard that before…However he had just been made an apprentice. She was sure they could work on that together. For now his enthusiasm was wholly understandable. She purred. He seemed like a good cat.

“Try to calm down Spiderwebpaw. You don’t want to cause a scene. Sure you can give me a hug if you like.” She meowed with amusement.

She didn't believe a word out of this she-cat's mouth. Dawnstar watched Rookpaw earnestly as she made her way front and center. She fixed the apprentice with a harsh penetrating stare mixed with a touch of amusement. As far as she knew there has never been an apprentice who turned down their warrior ceremony, at least not under her leadership. Rookpaw was no different, but regardless of the answer, Dawnstar was debating on denying her warrior status. Rookpaw was a liar, she knew and Dawnstar knew it at least to some extent.

But, it wasn't like this would be the first or last warrior to break their oath. It really did not make any sense why some of these cats remained in a clan that they didn't believe in or want to fight for. What was the point of putting in all this work and training? Disloyal cats had the strangest of minds. Dawnstar supposed that she should just make use of her until enough was enough.

"In honor of your cunning and independence, I give you your warrior name. Rookpaw from this moment onward you will be known as Rookscreech [ @Shade. ]." Not a moment after the name left her mouth, a second name popped within her head. Rookrat, that would have been far more fitting for the warrior. Rats had no loyalty to anyone but themselves. Sadly Dawnstar would make a fool of herself she suddenly changed it now, she'd do it at the next meeting if she remembered.

"It's time for reassignments," the number of missing cats had spiked to an all-time high this moon alone. Dawnstar had a guess as to why, but she'd get to that.

Puffinpaw [ @:Grimm: ], you're training with Sparksong [ @Beetlenose ]
Dapplepaw [ @Naiad ], Galeflower [ @Mercury ] will be mentor you.

Maplepaw was one of ShadowClan's oldest apprentices. She had no clue what was taking the apprentice so long to claim her warrior name. Finding her mentor after mentor was getting tedious. The rest of the apprentices had some time and leeway, Maplepaw did not and so was testing the leader's patience.

"Elmshadow [ @Ravensong ] , you've had a moon to evaluate Maggopaw [ @Raven~ ]. Has she earned her warrior name back?" Dawnstar questioned, wondering if the mousebrain of a she-cat had learned her lesson.

Dapplepaw looked up as his name was called, a puzzled expression on his face. A new mentor?? What in Starclan's name happened to his old mentor? Come to think of it, it had been a while since he last saw him. And he couldn't remember ever having gone out to train... Oh well! He hadn't formed any real attachments with his former mentor, so it wouldn't be hard to mentally swap Poisonpetal out for... Galeflower? Whoever that was.

Galeflower, Galeflower, Galeflower... Nope! He was 110%, positively sure he had never met her! Maybe. Okay, it was more like 87% sure. The young tom peered around, wondering who she may be, and how he would find her, considering he had no clue what she looked like. It also didn't help that he would be searching through a blob of blobby cats for one specific blob... yikes. That was too hard.

The apprentice took a deep breath before calling out in a loud - not so loud as to draw a lot of attention to himself, but loud enough - voice. "Hey Galeflower-lady!! I'm over here!" He giggled to himself as he plopped onto his haunches, waiting for his mentor to find him. In the meantime, he pondered what she may look like. A large molly with spooky yellow eyes?? A battle-scarred, russet she-cat? Oooh, ooh! Maybe a tortoiseshell, like him! That would be super cool!

Sharppaw was not surprised a new mentor had been chosen. Both her previous ones had been disappointing. She hoped this one was good and would stick around. She approached them and touched noses. Here came the hard part, communication.

Rookscreech? It...wasn't too bad a name. Made her sound like she screeched all the time though. She didn't now what to feel right now. She was relieved that no one had stopped her and called her out for lying, that's for sure.

She stepped back into the crowd, very confused. What happened now? She hadn't paid much attention to warrior ceremonies before that since that had nothing to fo with her. Perhaps this was just it.

She was really alone now. Wolfwhisper wouldn't train her anymore. She'd fallen out with Shrewstep long ago...She wished Finchpaw had been here to become a warrior with her...

As he had expected, Dawnstar turned to him regarding Maggotpaw's progress. Maggotpaw had been properly punished by the name change and demotion, that much was clear by the she-cat's perpetual mood for the last moon. She wasn't a particularly pleasant cat before this whole ordeal but she'd been like a rebuked apprentice, appropriately, since being demoted.

Elmshadow consider his last session with the she-cat. Even then she'd tried to refuse his order and tell him that they should just go out hunting. He'd properly staunched that fire but her attitude arose again once she realized it wouldn't be as simple as sparring as equals. She was still resistant to learning any sort of lesson.

Elmshadow lifted his chin and spoke clearly, with only a brief glance in Maggotpaw's direction before turning to Dawnstar to report, "I don't believe she's taken anything from this last moon. It's my opinion that she believed a simple name change was the extent of her punishment and refused to humble herself. She has spent a moon with a humiliating name, which I'd say sufficiently rubbed her pelt the wrong way, but she has done nothing proactive to earn back her warrior name."

What should be done with Maggotpaw was the furthest thing from Elmshadow's mind and the next steps, both his own and those for Maggotpaw, didn't concern him in the moment. He'd had a moon to oversee and evaluate Maggotpaw and that was what he'd done. He had admittedly hoped to be able to give Dawnstar a better report but he was not going to lie or even soften his observations for the sake of his own wishes or for the sake of what he had believed, and still believed, could be a strong and loyal warrior.

She hadn’t planned too.

Not to be rude or anything she was just disinterested. Warrior and apprentice ceremony’s where never her thing. The only one Sparksong would pay attention to would be Dandelionpaw. Where was Dandelionpaw anyways? Sparksong shook her head.
Younger cats always wonder off.
She had waited at the back of the group for some time before she heard her name called. That rarely happened. She pushed her way to the front letting out soft hissed at the cats who wouldn’t move. She had been given an apprentice.

But

She already had an apprentice. What? Dandelionpaw. Where was she? Did she go missing? So many cats had been going missing recently. Was Dandelionpaw one of them?
