Jaguarclaw was trotting along with his clan mates, his fur was drenched making him feel cold and vulnerable. This was a sad day for Shadowclan, but they were strong, they would be fine in the end. Goldeneye knew what they were doing and Jaguarclaw entrusted them... and Halestar despite the fact Halestar was a little... strange sometimes. Everyone had basically gotten out of the camp and were resting as Daypaw worked hard. As he blinked the water from his eyes and listened to cats wading or splashing as they proceeded, his gaze glanced over to his new companion. Dazzlinggaze had been the cat Jaguarclaw decided to stick close to during this time. He wasn't quite sure were Marbledface was and it made him anxious, but he had to keep moving. Marbledface wasn't as weak as he sometimes thought she was. "Hopefully everyone's okay," he murmured mournfully towards the she-cat.

Their patrol had been cut short as news reached them that ShadowClan was evacuating. All the while, Dazzlinggaze had managed to stay calm, cool and collected. She helped clan mates as she saw strugglers and still found her way back to Jaguarclaw each time. Although she would’ve preferred to evacuate the territory by herself, it made more sense for her to stick with someone else. She didn’t know what they might encounter so she had to be prepared for anything. At least she wasn’t in a particularly big group of cats, it was just her and another cat. They trudged alongside their clan mates just a few fox-lengths away.
Luckily for her, the tom wasn’t super talkative, meaning that she didn’t have to use her voice much either. As he spoke, her dazzling emerald eyes darted to her companion, fearing that he might blurt out a whole bunch of words that she would have to respond to. She relaxed though as rather than what she had been expecting, he only murmured a few words. Without opening her mouth to respond, she simply nodded her agreement and continued padding on in silence. The silence wasn’t quite awkward and in her opinion, she found the silence comfortable enough.

Silentkit stuck close to his family as they padded through RiverClan’s territory. His blue eyes were wide as he examined his surroundings, curiosity and fear mingling in his orbs. This place was extremely unfamiliar to him and he was half expecting something to suddenly jump out at him and attack him. His pelt was drenched from the rain and the wet ground squelched uncomfortably beneath his paws. The kit was certain that soon enough he would find himself with a nasty cold. This weather was not nice and it had gone on for too long. At this rate, the tom didn’t care where he went as long as it was dry and warm. He longed for the sunny days of green-leaf that warmed up his pelt when he stood outside the nursery.
Sighing, Silentkit started to trail after his family, letting two fox-lengths of distance stand between him and then. He fell in behind a white and black furred cat who looked to be around the age of a young apprentice. He didn’t ask for his name and neither did he make a comment about the bad weather and their situation, as most would’ve done. He didn’t say anything and simply padded alongside them, listening to the murmur of his clan mates as they trudged through the territory.

When Shardkit was done,
she felt around blindly for her mothers fur. When she felt it she climbed onto of Hollydawn and curled into a ball and fell asleep.

The gray she-cat didn't respond to the tom's stuttering, sensing that her answer might go over his head at the moment. He seemed very shocked and out of it. So she waited, listening to him ramble on about how the question was one that wasn't meant to b answered,and how there was definitely a tom that had fallen in love with her and would be heartbroken to hear she loved someone else. She thought over this, trying to form the right words to get what she said across to him. While her insides were battling and dancing all at once, she seemed extremely calm on the outside.
"Well," she said after he finished his own ramble. "You can tell this tom that I'm not interested in him. I'm interested in someone else, my best friend. Not some imaginary friend."
As soon as she stopped talking her outer calm vanished, and she felt her face heating up and her ears flattened slightly, before going back and then forward again. Her nose twitched, and she turned her head away from Badgerpaw, hoping to hide how panicked she suddenly became. Even though she knew he felt the same way, it was as if she was taking a leap into the unknown and anything was possible, even heartbreak.
The urge to start rambling was really strong, but she held her words in. Rambling just seemed to make things more complicated, it added unnecessary information to the conversation.
Taking in a deep breath, Lostpaw turned her head back to Badgerpaw, wondering what his reaction was. She wished she could see him.

Her best friend. She means me. She means me! Badgerpaw was so excited he didn't even know what to do. For a moment he couldn't speak, and he just stood there before he gentle touched his nose to Lostpaw's ear. "I'll tell him." But there was no one to tell. Lostpaw loved him. She loved him. Or at least, she was interested in him - and was that the same thing? Maybe. Possibly. Badgerpaw's tail twitched and he swallowed just the slightest bit before he spoke again. "I love you." Strong words coming from a cat who wasn't very good at saying them. Strong words coming from the tom who had once been arrogant and stuck up and vain. Strong words coming from a feline who, previously, hadn't really cared about anyone but himself. Strong words coming from the apprentice who had met Lostpaw moons ago, and even from the first... he had appreciated her more then anyone else. Strong words coming from Badgerpaw, who had left moons ago. But he had meant every one of them.

They were just three words, three words that built someone up... and had torn apart hearts before. They could cause someone to be ecstatic or broken. Just three words, yet they were the hardest to say in any language. For Badgerpaw, anyways. Confessing love wasn't easy. It never would be. He knew he wanted to be with Lostpaw, but... he didn't know how. If you loved someone, you were as good as bonded to them, right? When they got old enough, they would be mates. Right? The thought had never crossed his mind that there might be other she cats or toms someday. That there could be other cats he would fall in love with, and other cats she would. He just didn't think about it because right now, his world was complete.

And whole. And full. That little hole that had been eating through his heart? It was gone. For the first time in a while, he felt whole and safe. He felt as though he were loved and cared for. And if Lostpaw thought she had feelings for him? He wasn't afraid anymore.

"Well, I guess we shouldn't have to worry... But I'm just so scared, anything could happen..." He added, gazing at the other apprentice.

If there was a choice between saving his leader or saving her, it would be her. After all... a leader had nine lives to give. But warriors? They only had one. So why, then, was it warriors who were expected to give their lives for their leader? Shouldn't it be all the warriors who had nine lives if they were expected to die for a single cat? Thunderstorm had always been confused about that, although make no mistake... he was willing to die for his leader and his Clan.

"Yeah... yeah, that sounds good. I wonder if we're feeding ShadowClan or if they're going to bring their nasty frogs here?" The tom mused aloud. It made sense to him that ShadowClanners would be eating frogs. Disgusting, revolting... Thunderstorm hated the thought of those cats coming here and bringing their disgusting customs as well. He was alright with them being here, but if they were about to try and turn this into a pity party for ShadowClan, uh-uh. He wasn't having any of that. The tom stood up, gently putting his tail on Tawnyflight's back. He would never get tired of doing that and feeling a pleasant warmth spread throughout his body, as though every time it touched her it gave him the sensation of warmth and life.

It was wonderful. And Thunderstorm was very easily able to appreciate it, considering he had felt unloved since Tigerpaw had chosen Otterpaw over him... then he had seen her with that golden tom, Lionpaw... then Shypaw had passed away, leaving Thunderstorm alone. But Tawnyflight filled in that void in his heart, that void that he had believed could be filled by nothing else. It was as though there had been a spot just for her, like a jigsaw puzzle, and she had filled that spot in beautifully. The grey tabby glanced around at their surroundings. It was so peaceful here, why didn't they just stay? Though he knew the answer, he certainly didn't want to think about it. RiverClan wouldn't flood.

They were safe here. ShadowClan was safe with them. Everybody was safe, and Thunderstorm was glad of it. Even though he might despise the other Clan, the last thing he wanted was for there to be four Clans again. The fifth had just been discovered. Was he ready for another change?

Another yawn erupted from Tawnypelt as she stood up as well, smile widening at the light feeling of a tail on her back. "You've got me there," she said, "I don't think they're bringing their frogs here, though. I mean, maybe, but I doubt it." The tawny tabby feline wasn't sure how a cat could eat a frog, it seemed disgusting to her. But to each their own. She thought about RiverClan being in ShadowClan's situation. It would be horrible. Staying with a bunch of unfamiliar cats of a different Clan in said Clan's camp.... It'd be plain uncomfortable, and Tawnyflight couldn't imagine the true mix of emotions she'd be feeling if that happened.

"I mean," she began, lifting her paw to take the first step of many back to camp, "You've got to hand it to them. They must not be very comfortable either, staying in a camp they aren't used to with cats they don't know... I know I'd be uncomfortable, that's for sure." And she'd absolutely hate it. She didn't have to experience the situation herself to know that. RiverClan felt cramped with the extra Clan around, but surely ShadowClan felt so too, sharing a camp with another entire Clan.
