They had to look forward to what came in the future.

Basilpaw flicked her tail purring,” I guess in a blink of an eye, we’ll be warriors, then parents, then mentors, then elders.” she giggled. She liked the idea that one day she and Dawnpaw would be queens in the nursery and that Puddlepaw and Eaglepaw would be the fathers of the kits, she wasn’t sure if Snailpaw and Peonypaw might become parents, but she liked the idea of them also being parents.

Puddlepaw frowned. Warriors, then parents, then mentors, then elders? Hmmmm. He didn't quite agree with Basilpaw's statement. He doubted Dawnpaw would want to be weighed down with kits in the nursery before she got the chance to have more free time as a warrior. He knew that if he were a female, he surely wouldn't want to be stuck in the nursery before getting some mentoring experience. In his opinion, they were still far too young to be thinking about those sorts of things. "Well then... you sure seem eager to have kits as soon as you're allowed. Wouldn't it kind of be more logical to try and go through at least one apprentice before settling down with a family?"

Basilpaw thought for a minute,” That’s a good point, practice parenting before having kits, I suppose.” she meowed. She was surprised that Puddlepaw didn’t want to be a father,” You don’t want to be a father?” she asked a bit surprised by that herself.

Not like as soon as we become warriors. Sure, Dawnpaw and I are most likely planning to become mates once we're warriors. But I don't think we want kits immediately. But that's just how I feel. You do you, I guess."

Basilpaw smiled,” I understand that. I’m excited to become a warrior soon. I think my final assessment with be soon, I just don’t know when.” she meowed. She sometimes missed the simplicity of being a kit, but she couldn’t wait to go on patrols with her friends as a warrior.

Wolfwhisper flicked her tail. She knew how to play dead... so maybe it’s time to move on? Er... she should probably ask if she understands. Her blank gaze rested on her apprentice. Pop quiz! “When should you play dead in a battle?” She twitched her ears, looking down at her.

Palekit meowed and rubbed her cheek against her mother's side. She quite liked her name! She looked over at her siblings and flashed a sparkling haze at them then looked at her father. "...d.daddy?" she sounded confused since she didn't know who he was. Her head gave a tilt at the tom and looked over at her siblings again .

Rosepaw abruptly stopped licking, silently hoping that her pelt looked nice and sleek, and rose to her paws. Lifting her head, she scented the air, her pretty pink nose twitching. Like before, the amazing scent flooded her jaws and she had to swallow back a pang of hunger. Birds were her favorite, but rabbit was a great second-best. “There are a lot of rabbits,” she announced, her stomach giving a silent growl. “Everywhere, some down in the burrows, and some others nearby.” She suddenly spotted something brown and fluffy nearby, oblivious of them. “There’s one there,” Rosepaw meowed, pointing with her muzzle. “By that clump of heather and grass.”

Quicksilver's eyes then blew wide at Cloudfluff's sudden exclamation. When he was younger he always enjoyed flaunting his pelt... and compliments were always required whenever he was showing off. But now well... it still felt the same. That little burst of pride knowing that the work he'd put into make his pelt look pretty and nice was noticed. "Why thank you." He meowed with a tilt of his head. Should he return the compliment? He'd never done it before. Probably. She was being nice. "Yours is pretty too. All nice and....." Gah now he didn't know what to say. He couldn't just leave it at that. "Fluffy." He finished, before shaking his head and laughing at himself. "I just gotta say, I'm not the best at dishing out compliments, so bear with me please." Might as well be honest with himself at this point.

cloudfluff giggled, "sure you do." the white molly flicked her tail calmly, a rare sighting. she blinked at his wide eyes, then smiled when he said 'thank you.' she pricked her ears when he started talking about her pelt. her pelt. her annoying, snow white, thick, fluffy pelt. "uhm, t-thank you, no-one really says that, haha!" she shuffled her paws, then looked up when he started talking again. "oh, no, they're fine!" cloudfluff said, her voice upbeat. the molly tipped her head to the side, for no reason at all. she just liked doing it.
