As he stepped in, the stale scent of StormStar carried to his nose…soon it would be all OwlStars scent. He dipped his head respectfully to the new leader. “I wan’ed to say congrats…first…” Of course there was more, but he decided to start on a positive note. “I- I jus’ wanted to say tha’ if ya need any- any help or need some cat to do somethin’ I’m always available.” He felt useless, that was why. His blue gaze was on the leader…but it was pleading in a way. He had to prove himself again…do better. “I-I ge’ if ya can’t trust me after…TroutStream…but I- I wanted t’ say my inten’ wasn’ abandoning him- it- there wasn’ really…a good choose t’ make…” Even BerryShine said so…
The warrior gulped, suddenly feeling small as his gaze dropped to his paws…no. No. He wasn’t weak, and he couldn’t appear that way. He wouldn’t let himself fall that far. He picked his head up again, his gaze more firm and determined as he watched the leader and straightened his posture…something about her seemed…more familiar to him.

Primroseadder stopped beside the entrance to Storm- Owlstar’s den, taking a deep breath. She had worried about voicing her concerns to Stormstar whenever she had been alive, but now Owlstar led RiverClan. Perhaps with a new leader, a fresh start, the young warrior would be able to see what the new leader thought about her worries.
“Owlstar?” Primroseadder called in, bending her head to look inside. Her eyes found the matted, light brown pelt of the RiverClan Leader, and she slipped in uncertainly. She stayed by the entrance, emerald hues on Owlstar. “Congratulations on your leadership, but…I have some…worries…that I would like to tell you about, if you are willing to hear them.”

Ah. There it was. Owlstar tilted her head slightly, going over her list of Lionhearts. She only had two, minus Brokenstream, who led them. Filling up with social ranks was vital, and Rowanmane had proved himself to be reliable, even if that meant somehow finding all the dead bodies in the clan (seriously, how in the world?---).
The tabby rolled back her shoulders and gave the former Lionheart a nod. Maybe it was a bit too soon to add him back to the team, but she was hoping he could rejoin if he could prove himself as resourceful and active despite the Troutstream slip up.
"Well, ya could help me actually. Ya know the coyotes? I'll be leadin' a patrol ta the outskirt border at some point. Gotta good amount a cats, but there's no harm in bringin' more. Whatcha gotta say, chap?" She knew it would be a yes, but she asked regardless. If he was still a Lionheart, she would've asked him to stay behind with Heroneye and Caveclaw to watch the camp while she was gone, but alas. Plus, this opportunity would probably serve him just as well.
Well, ya could help me actually. Those words spoken by the new leader caused him to immediately lighten up, a small smile flickering onto his face. It was…uhm…impossible to not know the coyotes…but he wouldn’t mention that. All he could say? He wanted to tear the throat out of the coyote that…took StormStars life repeatedly. “I’d be honored t’ help ou’. Thank you OwlStar. Let me know if ya need anythin’ else…I was thinkin’ bout gettin’ some apprentices trained too…in a event or somethin’ if that’s okay with ya…”

"Yes...!" Adderstrike said jumping just a little. Now that she was going to ask this she felt nervous about it. The warrior wished she practice how she was going to ask this , then again there was a good chance she might have just worked herself up in her own mind at everything. "I was going to ask, if perhaps you'd think of me for a spot in the lionhearts and well, if you don't think me suited enough yet what I should do to do so." Good, it was out there. Adderstrike sat down with a gentle smile after letting out a little sigh to scare of her anxiety. "Sorry if this is all of the sudden to be asking about. It has been weighing on my mind for a while and nothing happens if you never try, even if its just saying words... Asking... Y'know?"

"My pulse is clear, rushing through my ears."
Brown ears quickly perked in interest, using her tail to wrap around her large paws. Hm. She'd have to talk to Brokenstream about that one. Nothing told her that Adderstrike wasn't deserving of the position, but she still needed to talk with the head Lionheart. "It isn't a yes, but it ain't a no either." The amount of cats in Lionheart ranks were... Small. Miniscule even. They needed more cats.
"I'll put ya inta consideration, n' I'll talk ta Brokenstream 'bout it." She began to wonder if the tom himself had any suggestions. "Plus, I've been thinkin' 'bout it fer awhile actually. As fer anythin' else ya could do, help out when ya can, volunteer fer patrols, ya know the gist." Without a deputy currently, she needed all the help she could get.
And, she was darn near sick of all those cats wondering who the new deputy would be. They must've had the attention span of a goldfish and had no amount of grieve for Stormstar's passing if that's all they could think about. It made her fur bristle just thinking about it.
"Anythin' else? If not, go on ahead n' see yerself out, yer stinkin' up my den." She teased. Though, it was only half true. The more cats who entered, the less of Stormstar's scent would remain, and Owlstar didn't want that.

"My pulse is clear, rushing through my ears."
She recognized their voice, Primroseadder. But it seemed the warrior had lost their manners. She immediately raised to her paws as Primroseadder slipped inside, her brow furrowing. "I know we're all stressed, but it wouldn't kill ya ta wait fer me ta call ya inside my den. Ya can't just invite yerself in, no matter the urgency." The leader corrected with a swift sway of her tail. Even apprentices knew to ask to enter before entering.
The tabby then sat back down and attempted to soothe the matted fur on her chest, but to no avail. Ugh, she'd never get rid of all those tangles, would she. Looking back up, she addressed Primroseadder once more.
"Don't do it again, yeah?" Owlstar said before curling her tail around her paws. "Ya said ya had a concern, yes? I'm all ears chap, gotta keep a swift paw on problems. And thanks." She added. It still felt surreal, knowing she went to the Starcave and got her name. All an honor bestowed on her paws.
(hey, it's alright! Ive gotta catch up on replies anyhow :3)
The blue gray tabby made his way to the leader's den, poking his head in. He had once always went to the leaders den and comfortably set himself on the floodstone during a meeting with furbs. But now she was gone. The one-eyed cat took a deep breath before speaking. "Owltalon? Or star, whatever. I needa talk to ya," Rainpaw said, sitting in the entry to the leaders den. "I heard around there was already a Rainpaw when I returned, but I was also thinking of changing my name. I'm trying to get over my fears, so I want to request my new name.
I would like to be called Floodpaw, if you are alright with that," the small tabby said, swishing his half-tail. Despite how much he hated water, he would need to learn to cope at some point, especially after over ten moons.

Primroseadder winced at Owlstar’s sharp tone, now regretting even thinking about addressing her worries. But she had already done so, and Owlstar wanted to hear them. So, taking a seat and shuffling her paws, the RiverClanner murmured an apology and began to speak. “I apologize, Owlstar. I wasn’t…I wasn’t trying to intrude. That wasn’t my intention…”
Wrapping her tail around her paws, Primroseadder looked her leader in the eye. “My worries aren’t about your leadership, if that’s what you are thinking. They are more so about the Clan,” She began, ears twitching. “Stormstar let go of Sleepy Thicket just as leaf-bare began, and that has gotten me thinking. I’m worried that if RiverClan doesn’t find more territory soon, Owlstar, that we won’t live to see newleaf. Lionsbeach barely had enough prey to begin with, and Seagrass Fields carries more herbs than prey, in my opinion. What are…your thoughts?”

Well that went better than expected. She was glad she came out to ask, maybe she should also get to know Brokenstream better too.. Adderstrike could only remember talking to them for brief periods when orders were given out. It also made her feel giddy hearing that Owlstar was thinking of this. "Of course I can do that, gladly actually! I love to do anything to help Riverclan!" Adderstrike said beaming with pride and puffed up her chest a little without thinking about it. Patrols would be so fun to do! Now Adderstrike was beaming about ideas of what she could do next!
Then she was brutally mocked! Adderstrike sniffed herself before pretending to gag. "Oh no I thought the snow would do me well... Maybe rolling in crowfood will even me out!" Adderstrike tried to be serious but broke out into giggles in the end of it. Oops. "Oh! That does remind me of something. We should make some kind of defenses against other the other cats... While I hope that our clan is never invaded again, I with two others had built the warriors den again and put thorns in its walls. While I don't think we can do the same thing with our new den, there are some things that we could do..." Adderstrike's brain was brewing with wickedness but all for the safety of the young... And an added wickedness for stinking the den up.

Hm. She was right, actually. Riverclan needed to work on expanding their territory, especially with such a harsh leaf-bare. The leader couldn't help but smile, her paws practically itching to start further exploring and expanding territory.
"Yer concerns are valid, Primroseadder, and me n' my highrank's team are workin' on it." Owlstar explained, her tone cooler than it was moments before. "But, I think we'll be able ta make it ta new-leaf before we find anythin' else. While our huntin' sources are limited, I cain't deny that, many events 'ave been held ta help us get more prey. But yer words won't be forgotten. I'll organize somethin'." She gave the warrior a nod of her scarred head before she spoke once more.
