Alderstep turned his head towards Firepetal. He flicked an ear as she greeted him. After a moment of staring, he looked away. It was surprising that she was sitting next to him since it'd been a while since he'd talked to her. The russet warrior wondered why she suddenly chose to talk to him, but more importantly, he was irritated that she had. Alderstep had always been distant from everyone else, but he had been somewhat purposefully avoiding his family. He let out a soft sigh. "What do you need?" he asked, closing his eyes slowly.

GingerFlight padded out of the elders den and sat down near the nettle patch because firepetal was there and she wanted to try to be sociable for once but only cause she had the excuse of wanting to sunbathe while theres sun she stutterd h...hello f..firepetal!she said embarrassed at her stuttering so stupid she thought she'll think im sort of stuttering mousebrain now horrible first impression

The orange she-cat jerked back ever so slightly, subtle as a fox. Wow. Looks like someone’s in a mood, she thought. Oh well. She shrugged, giving him a teasing glance. “I don’t know,” she looked across the clearing, watching Berryscratch tumble around. A purr rumbled in her throat. Yes. Berryscratch was quite the weird cat. She smiled, feeling a rush of affection for her littermate.

She turned her head back to Alderstep, glowing. ”Just wanted to catch up with some of my old friends.” she mewed, ear twitching. She noticed Alderstep had been…absent. Daydreamer, wistful.. you named it.

Alderstep followed her gaze, shifting slightly at the sight of the other cat being...weird. Well, that explains why Firepetal was purring. He looked away, back to Firepetal, as she spoke again. He wondered if they had really been friends. Maybe in her mind? The warrior was pretty sure he never had the time for a connection like that, nor did he ever feel interested in things like that. He blinked again, trying to clear the tiredness from his face. "Are you calling me old?" he asked, uncurling his tail from his paws and twitching it at Firepetal.

Firepetal threw back her head and laughed, jaws gaping. Oh boy
, Alderstep was such a crackhead. She shook her head, paws up in defeat. “No, no. Old? Ha.” he must have misunderstood. Old as in friends she was with for a long time, not old like elders. ”old friends. Childhood friends!” she grinned, tail flicking. “Come on. You’re not that old.” she cackled. She doubled up in laughter again. “Good one buddy.”

Firepetal pranced across the clearing, smiling. Today was a good day. She had been hunting, had a successful catch and chatted with friends. She snatched a mouse greedily from the pile, licking her jaws before propping herself down, chewing her meal.

Alderstep is quite the tom, isn’t he. She thought. He was so goofy. She glanced to the Leader’s den, Sparrowstar’s den. The beloved leader of Thunderclan as probably resting. good. Sparrowstar needed rest.
