Hiding his anger was more difficult than hiding any other emotion that dared to creep up on him. She thought he was lonely? That he needed someone to talk to? His eyes narrowed a bit more into the glare that had become such a familiar expression to the tom by its near constant use.

It subsided quickly, though calm was never something that the black ragdoll ever fully achieved, so he was more of simply at 'less angry'. Once the anger was gone it near immediately replaced inside him by sadness. He was unused to this feeling of turning so cold inside and actually feeling the emptiness within him. Actually missing having someone to talk to.
He was quickly lost in this feeling, scared of what it meant. He didn't like this... this loneliness. It was unbearable to someone who never felt it. He turned his face quickly away from the smaller she-cat, afraid that he had lost control of how much this had shown on his face or in his eyes.

His eyes closed as well, trying not to let himself start to cry, though he was unsure if the tears that threatened him were of loneliness and sadness or of the fear of it. He swallowed thickly and exhaled, turning his face back towards the kit, though his eyes evaded her face.
"...Why... Why do you say that?" He said, forcing his voice to remain it's usual dark near-sneer, though it fell a notch low. His ears turned backwards and flattened against his skull in disgust at himself. How could he act like this? How could he be so weak?
Tawnykit raised her tail, noticing the anger that was etched in his face, and she simply ignored it. To her, it was actually a good sign. It was a sign that he wasn't like the other cats, and that he wasn't going to push her away out of fear, or disgust, or both. Or maybe the last one, but nevertheless, she didn't care. The tabby looked the long furred black tom up and down, then focused her attention on the the highbranch, and then looking to the leader's den, her anger mounting, and nothing she could do would help.

Nothing about ShadowClan told her of following the warrior code, as you're supposed to mourn deaths, not celebrate them. This confused and angered her, but she dismissed the idea as best she could, turning back to Bugpaw. She saw a few emotions flit across his face, but had not a hint of an idea on what they were, and quick enough, they were forgotten, well, almost. Tawnykit tilted her head, rather baffled by his odd behavior, and then she shrugged subtly to herself, placing the question down as "weird things apprentices do". As she'd seen apprentices act very weird at times, whether they're alone (or so they think), or with another cat, usually another apprentice. Maybe she'd understand when she became an apprentice, but maybe not.

“Well,” the she-kit began calmly, her voice level, “you were sitting here all alone, and I just kinda figured....” she said, scuffling her paws in the snow and pine needle mixture that covered the ground, and she was also staring at it. She wasn't sure why she'd even tried to talk to someone, as obviously, it wasn't going well, even through the half-sneer that she'd been hearing in his voice seemed kinda fake and lower than before, she guessed that the anger she'd seen in his eyes was directed at her. The anger the burned inside of her was directed at many things. Sighing, she glanced back toward Bugpaw, her eyes nowsone weith a wariness, but not very visible the the anger.

She sighed deeply licking a paw and running it over her face and ears delicately. Even though she had washed, she wanted to seem casual. Unsuspecting. She sighed deeply returning her gaze to the she cats. "Are you alright?" She asked with concern. With complete disregard of her previous answer. Wrapping her tail against her leg. Hopefully that was a reasonable question. The ate cat must be going through things unthinkable at the current moment.
"Yes, I organized a couple earlier when the sun rose." The new leader mewed, composing herself once again. She would be strong for ShadowClan and lead them to the top once again. Halestar nodded at the other cat, "I am doing as well as a new leader can be as of now." She stated, quite plainly.

The leader had decided to not appoint a deputy after Timberstar's death- not quite yet anyway. She had to weed out the horrid cats of the Dark Forest from the selection of possible candidates- she had to make sure ShadowClan was lead in honor of StarClan and all of their ancestors.

Bugpaw felt wary, though he forced this down again, forcing himself to become angry again. Anger was what he knew, and he didn't want to explore the rest of the emotions. Maybe just not yet, but he was currently planning for just not ever. This kit was kinder than he was, but he could see the anger that dwelled in her eyes. Anger that could mirror his own, except that he didn't know what hers was directed at. He knew that he disliked the universe, Starclan too for putting him here, if there even was a Starclan.

He hardened himself again, letting his claws slip down onto the snow as of that could harden him more.
"I was alone because I am-" he cut himself off from saying 'lonely'. He didn't want to be, and therefor he would pretend that he wasn't.
"Because I don't have friends. Everyone hates me, and I like it that way because then I can hate them back." He paused for a moment, lashing his dark-furred tail back and forth.
"So why aren't you?" He said, ears still pinned backwards. He was honestly rather curious, but letting her know this would just make him weak in her eyes and the eyes of everyone else, or so he believed with all his heart.

He studied the young cat through narrowed eyes. He didn't necessarily hate her. He hates everyone, but since he did hate everyone he never thought of his hatred as anything more than normal for someone who has just met another.
He had rarely reacted in any other way. It had been a while too. He wasn't going to let his guard down to anyone again, and to him, that meant to hate everyone all the more.

It was true, when he was an apprentice Wolftooth had lost both of his parents and most of the clan, including his mentor had told him to toughen up. This may have been the reason why the senior warrior had grown so hateful, no true parental guidance to help him. Now, resent and anger is all the tom knew and there were times that he wished he wasn't as such but threw that thought away, Wolftooth truly thought showing any kind of compassion would make him weak.

Nightshadow's anger suddenly softened, feeling a pang of sympathy for the tom underneath his pelt.``I-I'm sorry. I should've known not to speak negatively about someone like that.`` He murmured, flattening his ears and looking away for a heartbeat, then looking back at Wolftooth. I guess I never truly knew the reason why this tom had grown so hateful. Nightshadow thought, feeling a wave of understanding for him.

The she-cat dipped her head as well. "I'm sorry as well," she mewed dipping her head. She shuffled her paws. "I take it I should go," she said as she turned to go.

Wolftooth growled to himself and sighed inwardly. I suppose I better apologize too. "Wait!" he called out to Nightshadow and approached the duo. "I'm sorry as well... for the most part anyways. I guess I should work a little more on my attitude to you younger cats, shouldn't I?" said the tom, irritating himself at the thought of being kinder. It would take a long time but it was about time he at least tried.

Branchblaze nodded. "Yeah, it's ok. I think we can all work on our anger," she chuckled. She let her amber gaze loks around the area wondering what to say next.

All of the cats shook thir heads, as silvercloud sat back down.
Shrewpaw pads into camp as the arrived patrol team settles in, but he's being escorted by Marshclaw. Seeing Silvercloud first, he pads over to him, "Do you know this kit? I've never seen him before, but he keeps telling me he's your mentor." Shewpaw's ears are low, twitching a little at the fear of being figured out. He knew he should've stayed in camp, but he didn't feel comfortable alone, and Fleetear didn't want him to follow him into the nursery. "Well?" Marshclaw mewed impatiently. He figured there was something up with this 'apprentice' and now he's aiming to get answers.

Out Of Character (OOC): Is there a place I'm supposed to post a bio or something to join or do I just join?

In Character (IC): Nightflare saunters into the training grounds. His confident gait alludes to his warrior-like nature. He scans the area, not a sign of friendliness from his muzzle. "I wish to be trained to become a Warrior." He finally drawls.

"Yup!" And grinned at the tom as he continued.

She had been warned this time, but the amount of questions still baffled her and she took a moment to sort the words out in her mind before she fired answersag him. The sand colored feline took a large breath of air and began to speak.
"My favorite prey is lizard, lizards are really good! Frogs don't actually have scales but they are like lizards a lot! Yup, I've got kin! What about you? Do you have kin? Um..." She paused on the next one, unsure. She had never really contemplated not being in Shadowclan...
"Thunderclan I guess." She said, smiled and continued speaking.
"I guess I could be an outsider too... Midday because that's the best time to race and stuff. My favorite high-rank is Halestar.

"What about you? You're going to have to answer all of these questions too you know!" She purred playfully and grinned at him.
"So you've already answered favorite prey, so now you've gotta answer kin, alternative clan or outsider, time and high rank!" She mewed, tail lashing in excitement. Meeting new cats was fun and she enjoyed doing so. As she waited for his answer she began to draw her tongue in long strokes along her foreleg and over the edge of her paw, eyes looking upwards at an angle at the younger tom beside her.

Onyxkit rolled his eyes when she corrected his grammar mistake, but there was no doubting when he allowed a brief smile to take place. He engulfed her answers to his questions with interest, determined to remember them for their next meet. After all, her responses were what made her her. When it was his chance to answer his own questions, he shifted uneasily. Of course, he had expected questions to be shot back at him, but not the questions he had previously asked.

``Uh,`` Onyxkit mumbled, scuffing at the ground with his left paw. He looked down at the ground as he did this, observing the way the dark dirt moved with his toes. ``My preferred time of day is probably moonhigh. I love the dark, and at night a majority of our clanmates are either sleeping or going to sleep. I have me-time at moonhigh.`` He looked up at Maplepaw who appeared to be washing the drying mud off her limbs, although her gaze was locked on him. With an amused twitch of his whiskers at her current position, he continued talking. ``Honestly, I can see myself being a loner. I'm not very social, and the crowds often give me anxiety.`` Onyxkit's answers were hesitant, as if he didn't want to answer the questions, but he felt he needed to - and he'd do it truthfully.

With more than enough fear than even the most mentally strong cat could deal with, Onyxkit opened his mouth to respond to the remaining questions. Instead of words, a pathetic, hoarse whine slipped between his dark lips. His eyes widened in shock at the sound, as if he didn't know he could make such a noise. He was quick to recover, though, and he laughed nervously. ``My bad,`` He mewed. He began to paw at the ground again, refusing to look at Maplepaw as he answered the final questions. Oh, what will she think of me now? ``I do, in fact, have kin. And my favorite high rank is Blazingnight.`` His tail-tip twitched anxiously as he spoke, and he even folded his ears back and winced as if his answer physically abused him. He knew the evil era leaders were not exactly... popular, but Onyxkit couldn't help but admire the former high rank.
