Harefoot flicked his ear. "When did you ever learn warrior moves? You still fight like a kit!" He looked at the boisterous apprentices with a pointed glare. "Urgh they never shut up! Let's go find some frogs with Mothquiver. We'll leave some dead ones in the apprentices' den. See how they like that." He got up to leave, scanning the area for Mothquiver.

Brackenshine bit her lip to stop her from blabbing to Twilightstar. She knew that her littermates' pranks were cruel but she wanted them to trust her. They were always going off together without her.

Rosepaw gave a nod. Oakkit, a WindClan cat... hopefully, he hadn’t once been an Outsider. Her nose wrinkled a bit, but she smiled sweetly at the kit. “There are so many apprentices already,” she admitted. The den was so crowded. But at least this kit was asking for advice. “So, you’ll have to learn to get up early and listen to your mentor,” she advised. “And I would personally recommend staying away from the Outsiders or any... deformed-looking cats.” Glancing around, she tried to search for Twistedpaw, but she wasn’t in the camp.
Suppressing a sigh yet still a little glad that she didn’t have to look at that abomination, she meowed, “Battle scars are okay. Even the prettiest of cats can get them.” Sitting up, she revealed the long, ugly pink scar cutting through her belly fur. It was a sensitive subject because it ruined her looks, but hey, it was a fact of life. And it made her look fierce.

"Moons before you figured out the word 'warrior', dear brother." Petaltoe, replied, coolly, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "I'll be right there!" Maybe she should stop doing pranks, Petaltoe knew that Coyotesnarl didn't like kits, and if she wanted to have a chance of being medicine cat, well she should stop this kittish behavior. "Brackenshine, do you think I should just speak to Coyotesnarl?"

Brackenshine perked up when she heard her name.

"Uh yeah definitely! It'll show that you're really committed to your application. Do you want me to come with you?" She mewed, her eyes shimmering with delight. "For sisterly support?"

"Woah, how did you get that scar?" Oakkit meowed. "Does it hurt still?" He didn't stare but was quite interested in the story.

A sleek-furred cashmere slipped drowsily out from the apprentice's den just in time to hear Twilightstar anoint Coyotesnarl as the Clan's new deputy. At this, Leopardpaw fluttered open her crusted yellow eyes, a bout of surprise swimming throughout what seemed like the entirety of her brawny physique. A medicine cat, as brand new deputy? Well, whatever. If that was these pesky Clan cats' decisions, then so be it. Nothing of their choice necessarily mattered to Leopardpaw, anyway.

Cedarfoot sighed. Thank Starclan. The molly was not looking forward to hunting any time soon, not after... she shook her head slightly. "Then we'll get some battle training in soon." The molly frowned, tail swishing. She'd have to send Cloudpaw hunting with a different warrior for a little bit. As ticked as she was with Twilightstar, she was still going to do her job. Reluctantly.

Quiverpaw could only blink in surprise as Twilightstar named Coyotesnarl the new deputy of WindClan. What a twist... switching him from medicine cat to deputy. And by the look on his face at first, he hadn't any idea that it was to be happening either. She was just relieved when the tom didn't deny the position and began to call out his name once he had made his way to the front of the crowd.

When Twilightstar switched the topic of the meeting to apprentice ceremonies, she quieted and returned to listening respectfully. She still wondered who'd replace the medicine cat, though. Would Coyotesnarl be the deputy and also train the new cat at the same time?

Oakkit jumped half startled when the kit suddenly spoke. "He's right. You don't have to tell the story if you're not comfortable about it." He mewed turning back to Rosepaw
