'Well-led'? Was she joking? Curlpaw stifled the snort of disagreement that threatened to blow from his nose and instead adopted a serious expression. 'Well-led' was one word for it, even if that word was totally incorrect and certainly not one Curlpaw would use to describe RiverClan at all. Except for maybe when Lionstar decided to kick the bucket. Sootflare seemed capable enough. At her question, he shrugged. "Open confrontation isn't really my thing, Miss," he said. "I tried dropping hints, about her not showing for patrols or being around for training, but Lionstar seemed set on getting away from me as quickly as possible. I don't even think he listened to what I said, really."
He tapped his paws thoughtfully on the ground as Twiglight continued to speak. She was right, in a way, but... he raised a paw and tapped the place where his tail split off into two separate parts. "You really think I could get close to anyone with something like this? Many cats aren't too fond of those who are different than them, Miss. Different scares them into a judgemental state, one that causes them to fear and shun the outlier of the group." His voice held no conviction as he spoke, only blatant acceptance. "Stagpaw and that Mushy cat are the only ones I've seen push past that. Perhaps it's a WindClan mindset, or perhaps it's just how they see the world. Either way, I'll have at least a couple of cats who have my back, and in turn, I will have theirs."
A real reason? Curlpaw felt as if his reasons where real enough, but perhaps they didn't resonate with Twiglight. His expression turned thoughtful as he considered is options. He could offer insider intel on RiverClan, but he realized he didn't actually know that much, and even if he did, offering private information was only going to cement the fact of his disloyalty in Twiglight's mind. So he shoved the idea away, and went on to his next, second best. A small smile upturned the corners of his mouth, and a short yet good-natured chuckle escaped him.
"Miss, if I'm not mistaken, you seem to think that I'm utterly useless. But I assure you, I'm far from it. I can hunt, and fend for myself. I can swim just fine. I assisted a group of apprentices in chasing off a pack of savage dogs. I'm capable of protecting myself and others. The warrior who ends up as my mentor won't have to start from scratch with me. If you would allow me a chance in WindClan, a chance to prove myself to you, I would be eternally grateful."

Rosepaw gasped as she was flung off and hit the ground with a thud. Flinching, she scrambled to her paws and looked at her. "Alright," she muttered, shaking out her pelt.

Why don't we head back to camp, and maybe we can go hunting tomorrow.
A bit later in the morning though. Skunkblaze mewed, heading off towards camp. (Has she completed the requirements? If so, she could have her assesment.)

Petaltoe almost fell down under the weight of her sister at first, but got her footing correct and smiled. "Well, the medicine cat is now the deputy! Do you think they'll maybe let me try out for the medicine cat? It seems great, never having to fight, and helping your clanmates by healing them." Perhaps Mousekit would be more understanding than Harefoot was.

Petaltoe smirked. She couldn't go too fast, since she was in camp, but she would go as fast as she could. She took a breath, then ran, making sure Mousekit was till on her. Almost hitting a camp wall, she turned, and ran back into the nursery, then out again.
